The service was excellent. We were told that the food was going to take about 45 mins but we didn't mind. Service prompt and friendly and not overly "gushy" (like some places!!). A lovely cosy little pub with "olde worlde" charm. The only tiny problem we had is we booked for a Weds eve - which unfortunately was pub Quiz night - which is fun for those who wanted to take part - but when you are out for a 'girly' catch up with friends - it was very loud - we couldn't hear each other speak ! So avoid Weds if you are looking for a quiet night ! We had a good laugh though - so not a problem. (Treacle tart with stem ginger was divine !) With an elderly parent in tow, eating out can be a stressful experience but everyone handled the situation very well and spent the time with her that she demanded, though they were rushed off their feet. That made a huge difference to the evening.
