Diner Reviews
  • "Very expensive for what it was. Portion control was very much in force which is surprising given the prices "

  • "The restaurant is well located with good views down to Tower Bridge. The décor is interesting and the tables reasonably well spaced, so a very relaxing environment. The staff was very professional and gave excellent service with ready explanations of unfamiliar dishes. Although the restaurant was fairly busy, the waitresses were always close by and attentive. The starters, steaks and sides were all very good, but the list of Argentine wines was exceptional, very well chosen to compliment the food Overall, the prices were not excessive considering the quality of the food and wine, service and ambiance "

  • "We went to Gauchos with a group of friends to celebrate my wife's birthday. The venue is superb and food Very good. The service from our waiter was excellent even when one of our guests felt his meat was slightly overlooked it was replace immediately with no fuss. I will certainly go to Gauchos again and recommend it to others. Paul"

  • "I've been to a few Gauchos and this one maintained the quality of the food I have come to expect. Staff were pleasant and helpful, knowledge was shared and we had a lovely meal. My reasons for not giving 4 and 5 star ratings stem mainly from where we were sat - the table we had was quite close to the kitchen area which meant we had lots of staff constantly passing and stood next to our table and it was quite hot. The left-side of my body was noticeably hotter than my right. Whilst it didn't spoil it, it took the edge off the experience and, when you pay these prices, you expect the whole package."

  • "Overall experience was very disappointing The background music wasn't in the background The steak was full of sinew, difficult to cut and eat.. Would not return"

  • "Gaucho tower bridge is in an amazing location, the view of the river and tower bridge is fantastic and the huge windows really make the most of it. The layout of the restaurant really makes the most of the view for customers. I love the decor, music and lighting you really feel like you are on a cool night out not just in a restaurant. But the music is not too loud so you can still talk. This is probably my 5 or 6 time eating there with friends I have always had great service and this time the assistant manager came to talk to me in person and give us a special table upstairs by the window. Whether they do this a lot I don't know or care, it really made me feel like special customer. The food and Malbec wine was delicious as always."

  • "The music wasn't good, because it was too loud and it didn't match the ambience. Tables ar too small for group bookings (8 persons on one table). But the meal was verry good!"

  • "Gaucho London Bridge was very good - staff were friendly and knowledgable on the food and wione choices. They met our request for a window table which pleased our guests. The service wasn't rushed and the evening was very enjoyable."

  • "Very well looked after by the helpful staff from the moment we were showed to our table. Beautiful steak and perfectly cooked. Would recommend for special meal or relaxed drinks in the classy bar."

  • "Fantastic food and service. Everything was explained very well. Only slight draw back was the background music. It was a little too loud."

  • "Mid week dinner at the tower bridge Gaucho restaurant. Fantastic service with really helpful recommendations. Excellent food and wine. Will certainly recommend this restaurant to friends and I hope to go there again soon"

  • "I am usually impressed with the Gaucho brand having been very impressed with the Piccadilly and O2 restaurants however apart from the lovely view of tower bridge this time fell short. It was an early booking at 5pm and the restaurant was virtually empty. Both the steaks that we had were undercooked and the quality of beef didnt seem to be as good as normal. The chips i had were so undercooked that they were sent back and they return more cooked but bland and not crispy like they had been warmed in a microwave. This is fairly expensive restaurant and as this was a Birthday meal I was very dissapointed. The servers were fairly disinterested and I wasn't given any opportunity to explain that their meal was not up to the standard I expected."

  • "I used to love gaucho and always visit it, and last tome i had guests yo try it, the waiter was bad and unfriendly, they didn't cook a perfect medium well steak. It tasted like a one star steak house, was crowded and no one respected us or served us well, might never visit again, such a shame, it was one of my favorites"

  • "I decided to book Gaucho's, near Tower Bridge for my wife's 31st, and we were not disappointed! The service was excellent, from being greeted at the door to our friendly and knowledgeable waitress whom advised us on not only a good wine choice, but also on the cuts of steak which she brought out on a board. We opted for empanadas to start (we shared the beef and chicken), the medallion trio and bife de chorizo as our mains and the dessert sampler to finish. Each course was cooked and served to perfection. The restaurant itself had a nice atmosphere, we booked for 1pm on a Tuesday, so it was fairly empty and we could enjoy a conversation. I can imagine the ambiance being not so good with the place being packed."

  • "Food was amazing... Have been to guachos three times now (other two times at Richmond) and steak is always unbelievable. Had to wait abit longer then expected to get to the table (rsv was for 21:00 and was seated at 21:20) but the service was good after that and they put a nice touch on the desert and two glasses of sparkling wine on the house as it was mine and my girlfriend anniversay. Bread at the start and dessert at the end seemed like it had been allowed to cool for too long (bread is usually warm there and sticky toffee pudding was cold). Besides this a very enjoyable experience."

  • "Our meal here added to our fabulous weekend. Food is expensive but the steaks are beautifully cooked and tender. Our waitress was excellent at her job and could answer all our questions about the menu which is actually quite difficult to read because it is so dark in the restaurant and the type is so small! My husbands complaint was that they don't serve peas!! Extensive wine menu but the waitress was able to recommend a good one dependent on individual taste and she was spot on - same with the steak. Price rules it out for us as a regular eatery but for a special treat it is definitely worth a visit. Convenient location on the river with a tremendous view especially in the evening when tower bridge is lit up."

  • "This was the first time i had been to the Tower Bridge Gouchos. I asked at the time of booking for a table overlooking the Bridge. This was done for us and the table was perfect. The service was impecable and the food was amazing! Highly Reccomended!"

  • "The service and the food was very good - we were 4 girls out to dinner with Wine and cocktails. Price was fair and we had a table with a view - beautiful. Only negative - and it wasn't bad - was that the Music was a bit to loud. All in all - Great place :) ******"

  • "The staff, food, cocktails and wine were amazing; the only thing I would say is that I have been to most of the Gauchos and this one is less private. You are sat very close to the people next to you in a Pizza Express type of seating arrangement and it just feels less special then the others."

  • "I have previously visited 02 Gaucho and was impressed with the food and the services, unfortunately i was only impressed with customer services at Gaucho and their cocktails"

  • "The food is just top quality! The descriptions on the menu are pretty much functional - no poetry or flowery descriptions, but the quality and taste are amazing. Great choice of wine (well advised), and the waiter really took care that his selection was well-received. I have been to (another) Gaucho restaurant on a previous occasion, and both visits were characterised by excellent service. Great ambience - although if you like it quiet the music may be a little loud. Quite expensive, but well worth the money."

  • "Went for Mother's Day after the Shard, the food was absolutely amazing. It is expensive, but it really is amazing. The portions are huge, so don't over do it - a main and a dessert or a starter and a main are sufficient. They were very friendly, and the sweet potato and chorizo was brilliant."

  • "Met up with 3 friends for steak supper after work on a Friday night. I have eaten here several times before, the location is very convenient. Ambience is great but quite dark (I am not yet at bifocal age) so a little difficult to see the menu, fortunately the choices are fairly simple. Service was erratic and harried, long waits to have order taken, the waiter accidentally dribbled red wine over the edge of the glass which then dripped onto my friend's (white) clothing when she drank from the glass. Steak was excellent. Bill came to £240 for 4 steaks with sides, 3 cocktails, 1 bottle of wine, 3 coffees and a shared dessert."

  • "This is my 2nd visit to Gaucho but first visit to this branch. Food was fantastic as to be expected from my last experience. The service was perfect. Very attentive and knowledgeable waiters. Will definitely be visiting again."

  • "The service was great and the food was also good. Found the staff very helpful and able to support with dinning choices. Able to also give advice and suggestions on gluten free choices which was wonderful."

  • "The steak was just divine! The service was excellent too. But I would say, the view of Tower Bridge really does make it special! Will definitely be returning!"

  • "Disappointed. Partner had been before for a business lunch and recommended it for a birthday dinner for my son. Has booked some time in advance but has to wait for over half an hour for our table. No acceptable - a complimentary drink at the bar as a courtesy might have been a nice gesture Won't be returning"

  • "I had an amazing time at Gaucho Tower Bridge this weekend, food and service was faultless. It is expensive ... but well worth it!"

  • "We wanted to take our 6 yr old son out for his favourite meal - steak - as a special reward for doing very well at school. We chose Gaucho Tower Bridge as we have eaten there before and know the food to be great, with amazing views. I requested a window table explaining the occasion and we were given a fantastic table with incredible views. My son loved the tray of raw meat that came to the table so he could see all the different cuts and he had a delicious meal, he loved watching the world go by in front of Tower Bridge and we left a very happy family. Will definitely be back soon."

  • "When you have children in the age from 8-13 this was a great place. We told the restaurant beforehand and got a great service. The staff had patience, good mood and treated the children very nice. No rush. They really likes it. The music, the atmosphere and drinking out of wineglases. All in all a great experience for the six of us."

  • "We returned to Gaucho for our daughter's birthday. We had a great view of Tower Bridge from our table upstairs. The staff were very attentive and the food was great as usual. Can't wait for an excuse to return!"

  • "I had previously been to tower bridge in a group and it seemed ok, good food and wine, although expensive. I thought I'd revisit it with my gf for a romantic evening overlooking the Thames. The lighting was low which was fine, the music was too loud so everyone was shouting to be heard and the steak was poor. I was a chef so know steaks and quality, and this wasn't good quality. A well selected rib eye shouldn't have as much sinew and marbling evident. I ordered a 300g steak and left 100g of fat and sinew. The starter and dessert were very nice but wine prices over inflated, I checked. 400% mark up! I've had better and cheaper, shame as it promised lots but delivered little. Another restaurant may gave different results? Waiter was gd"
