Gaucho O2 Ratings and Reviews
Great Food and very nice Glass of Beer
1st time visited who will be returning again the steaks are to die for service is first class With out being over the top as you can get in top end restaurants All the food is prepared to a very high standard as are the drinks At gaucho you get what great service at a good price
Nephews birthday lunch
I booked my nephew lunch at the Gaucho prior to going to the top gear show at the o2. It was his 18th birthday present. Although I didn't attend, him and his father had a wonderful lunch that was made very special by the staff presenting him with a dessert decorated with 'Happy Birthday'. That was a really nice touch and set him up very nicely for his afternoons entertainment. Thanks very much.
Always a pleasure to return.
Outstanding service, excellent food, attentive staff and excellent ambiance. Always a perfect evening.
Good food and wine - highly recommended!
We are returning customers as we do like the food and wines available. Our waiter was very good and the staff are friendly, polite and efficient. The Stars dropped are because we were first shown to a table with broken glass on the seat. Apologies made and we were moved to the next table, where I could feel glass crunching underfoot. We were then moved to a third table and brought the menus. We didn't even get comfortable before we were moved again as the table was one in a bank reserved for a group. The fourth table was ok, but by this time we weren't exactly relaxed. We will return but hope all runs more smoothly in future.
My wife and I arrived for our booking at 5.45 pm to be told that the table was not ready, we were taken to the bar with no apology or indication as to when our table would be ready. We were then taken to our table at 6. 20 pm. Our food finally arrived at 7. 05 pm giving us approx 25 minutes to eat before the concert was due to start. Our waitress did her best and she could not be faulted, but to pay the prices they charge to have a rushed meal is not good enough. I realise that the tennis was on and they were very busy, but we had booked and if they were too busy they should not have accepted our booking.
Steak and Malbec during the Tennis break
This is the place for steak and red wine lovers. Excellent service during this very busy period is testament to the staff's capabilities. Our waitress, called in from Leeds for the tennis rush, was particularly excellent. I don't want to recommend this too highly, lest I crowd myself out! Do go, unless you're vegetarian.....
Another great visit to Gaucho at the O2 ...
Another great visit to Gaucho at the O2 before the ATP Tennis. I wouldn't eat anywhere else before an O2 event. The food, service and ambience all worth the quite expensive bill for a once in a while treat!
best steaks in London !!!
We got there right after the ATP Tour Finals so it was very crowded and quite noisy at the moment but soon the first hectic coming ins went by and we got to enjoy everything Gaucho O2 has to offer. From the starter, over the drinks to the dessert everything was just perfect. But in particular the steak deserves a special mention. Definitely the best steak I have ever had !!! The fillet is definitely recommended !!!
Overall the meal was very tasty, superb steaks and sides, and a really charming waiter. However we arrived early to ensure getting seated on time for the concert, between ordering and serving it was 40 minutes, and we missed the first 15 minutes of the programme, which was really disappointing. Also the bill was £150+ for 2 steaks, 3 sides and a bottle of medium-priced wine - how did it come to so much, and that didn't include service - no starters, no puddings!
Excellent Food Rushed
I have been to Gaucho at other locations many times, but this was my first at the O2. Our reservation was for 6.30p.m. we were not taken to our table until 6.50 and our food did not arrive until 7.25. We subsequently missed the beginning of the concert which began at 7.45. I knew it was always going to be tight and the food really was excellent. We only had a main course and although I would not expect or want 'fast food' at Gaucho I think they need to put some sort of time limitation on bookings at the O2. Customers should be informed that 1hr and 15min before a show is not long enough for a one course meal even though they are inside the venue.
This was our fourth visit to this restaurant and we weren't let down We were seated on the second floor which is just amazing, we came with family who hadn't been before and they were wowed!! The food and service were outstanding. We always treat this occasion as a treat and we have never been disappointed. We look forward to coming back
Fabulous meal ......the food was amazing and the staff attentive and knowledge. Could not fault the food and the whole experience was fabulous. For me the only thing I had a problem with was the toilets which were pitch black so take a torch !!!
First time Gaucho diners
On arrival, met by very friendly staff, directed to lift which we had to wait for as quite a few were already lined up. When we got to main restaurant, we were directed to our table, which was right In front of where they prepared food so we asked to be moved as it was noisy and very hot - this wasn't a problem and we were given another table which was a lovely comfortable booth. We had just got settled and looking through menu when we were asked to move as the booths are for 6 people and we were a party of 4!! Directed up another level....again in the lift and this time seated at a rather small table, albeit very attractive décor and comfortable chairs - we had to put our bottles of water and wine on the floor as once the platters arrived with our food on there was no room!!! Loved the fact they bring over a selection of their different cuts of beef as a lot of the time it is difficult to know how big (or small) the cuts are. 2 of our party opted for steak and weren't disappointed as they were both cooked perfectly. We were looking forward to a couple of cauliflower cheeses as side dishes but unfortunately they were out of cauliflower!!! The other 2 ordered burgers, which were very tasty but not hot enough. I don't particularly like my food served on wooden boards as they never look clean to me!!! We didn't order starters or pudding....just as well as the bill came to £270!!! Overall, it was a tasty meal and the staff were helpful up until it became busy. Glad we tried Gauchos out but wouldn't rush back as felt it was overpriced.
Gaucho is food as performance, with the knowledgable staff making carnivores' mouths water with their description of the many and varied cuts of meat. Wine list also good, starters choice interesting. No idea about desserts as I've never had room for one. O2 branch has no natural light so daytime visit is gloomy but fun decor and buzzy atmosphere at least partially compensate. It's not cheap but that's not to say it's not good value in comparison with other places.
Excellent service, no complaints
I went here with my fiancé to celebrate his birthday and from the moment we arrived they made his experience and my own very special. On booking I had mentioned it was his birthday and in no way was this forgotten on our arrival. At the front reception he was greeted with up beat and sincere happy birthday, when shown to our seats the waiter was also aware of his birthday and he was given a " birthday cocktail" too. We enjoyed a delicious and quite reasonably priced meal in a lovely romantic atmosphere and just when we were about to leave feeling satisfied my fiancé was surprised with a on the house chocolate dessert selection with birthday candle and bottle of wine! What more can I say apart from thank you Gaucho O2 for making our experience so memorable and special. Your staff were welcoming, attentive and friendly , the food was delicious and my fiancé had the best birthday ever! You have been recommended to everyone that I know and I will be back again!
Disappointing for Gaucho restaurant!
Waited a long time for wine list and when eventually order was taken took ages to arrive.£12.50 for a glass of red , well over the top! Was more like a fast food restaurant probably as shows going on at O2 and Indigo Room and very busy. Having been to other Gauchos this definitely did not compare and would not return! Food was ok although no waiter/waitress came back to ask if everything was alright- although we saw some asking at other tables. Background music too loud and not fitting for type of restaurant. Very expensive for not a pleasant experience.Would have been better off going to a pizza chain and saving money! I would add that this "bad" experience will not put me off visiting Gauchos again ,but definitely not at the O2!!
Lovely steaks as always- friendly helpful staff
Lovely steaks as always- friendly helpful staff. Always a good experience
Nicest steak we have had in a long time
We ordered the 700g chateaubriand to be shared between three of us. The steak was absolutely delicious. Staff at the restaurant were most attentive and friendly.
Gaucho and U2 at the 02
Good restaurant with a cosmopolitan type of feel. Food great and the service was good. The only thing that lets it down slightly is the excessive noise when it gets busy. Too much ambient noise made it difficult to talk when it filled up. Would use again when visiting the 02.
A lovely dinner although the bar was empty and it still took 30 minutes for us to be served drinks.
Excellent food and dining experience
An excellent restaurant for food and dining experience.
It was Our first time at Gaucho, and it was simply fantastic. We chose Gaucho at the O2 arena because we where going to the U2 consert, and what a Place!! The atmosfere where outstanding, the staff and service outstanding, the Food fantastic. It was the best beef we have ever tasted!! We will definately come back another time. Thank you for a wonderful meal :-)
Smart & Sophisticated
Gaucho is an upmarket steakhouse with stylish decor and a sophisticated ambiance. We visited prior to a cinema booking and despite it being quite busy, service was prompt. I had the Crab Tostadas to start, it was ok but not exceptional as I would have expected. Staff bring cuts of meat to the table for selection, we chose the Chateaubriand with skinny fries. The meat was tender and succulent and cooked perfectly, but I wasn't keen on the fries, finding them a bit greasy and the selection of vegetables was poor. Overall the dining experience was good and food reasonable, but I don't think it was great value for money, it was pricey and we both left still feeling hungry. I'm not sure if I would visit again.
The meal took for ever to be served because the restaurant was under-staffed. I'm sure that, because there was no show in the O2 Arena, the manager didn't think he needed a full staff quota but, although not completely full, there were enough customers present to make the wait for food far longer than might be considered reasonable.
I'm gluten free , so that's always a palaver , but not at Gaucho. Lovely food. I had the ribs to start and Fish. My son had pate and Sirloin steak, which was tender and rare to perfection.
The whole experience was a pleasure and ...
The whole experience was a pleasure and I would love to return in the future. The service was very good and our attendants were very attentive but a little personable, which may not be to everyone's liking. However, our waiter did take the time to explain the different cuts of meat and was very knowledgeable about the wines and cocktails. A great evening and well worth the money for a special occasion.
Can't wait to come back . Brilliant food, great service, steak is soft and tasty x
We went during the week for a birthday m...
We went during the week for a birthday meal. The staff were very friendly, knowledgable and would do anything for you. We were not rushed. We were approached regularly but not in an annoying way. The food was lovely and well displayed. For two steak meals and desert with drinks (and a tip) the bill did come to £150, but it was well worth it
A lovely meal for a special occasion, made better by the staff at Gaucho.
Good ambience but pricey wines
My steak was lovely although came medium well rather than medium rare. My husband 's hamburger was dry. The chips were super but my spinach rather bland. The food price was reasonable for the place but the wines were overpriced we found. Service was excellent and the place was buzzing. A special occasion place I would say.
a dark dissapointment
this Restaurant was a bit of a dark dissapointment! i took my girlfriend there for a meal the "Gaucho grill" had been sold to me by one of my friends who had visited the Manchester restaurant and has been back four or five times and has always raved about it, so i thought id take my girlfriend to the O2 restaurant pre gig as a special treat, to see what all the fuss was about... well not much i have to say it was a let down, the place was so dark you cant read the menu, maybe thats on purpose so you cant see the prices! not that that was an issue, most of the customers on the tables all had their phones out with the torch on so they could see.. i didnt like the fact that the waiter whilst telling us about the different cuts of meat said that the fillet is the steak for the ladies! - i already had in my mind i was going to have the fillet even before we arrived!! LOL iam a bloke who loves a good fillet steak but its the cut preferred by women - news to me! i had the fillet steak, it wasnt fantastic i was expecting something special, ive had better at a local pub which is much much much cheaper! we were served cold chips with the meal and i had a side order of courgettes which on arrival looked like they had been left in the rain for two weeks a soggy mess in a bowl.. my dessert was still frozen when it arrived all in all not good £150.00 spent and i was very dissapointed
Great Service, Great Food!
An amazing dining experience with the finest quality of meat, a lovely atmosphere and decor with excellent service made for a great meal.
Pre show dining
As always food was great. Restaurant was very busy and we waited quite a while for various things but compared to some of the other restaurants in O2 it was ok. We allowed our selves 2hours and only had one course and found ourselves panicking a little towards the end but we made it in time. So make sure you allow plenty of time to have a relaxed meal.
Truly the best steak in England!!!
We have been in search of the holy grail of steaks. Believe me it seems some can get it soooo wrong! But Gauchos has everything. Amazing cuts of the best quality meat, cooked to perfection, knowledgable waiting staff and all in a very cool contemporary setting! Love it. Looking for another excuse to go back.
Pre Show Visit - Saturday 10th October
Ive been to Gaucho restaurants many times over many years but this was the first time at the O2. As usual the quality of the steaks, service and wine was excellent. We were a party of four adults and went there before a show and got all we expected. Will definitely look in there again if we can get booked - the restaurant was very popular! Emile (apologies if not the correct spelling) was our server and he was spot on.
Dinner at Goucho O2
Excellent - were not rushed - good atmosphere - service excellent and attentive - Daniel Waiter (Host) took time to take us through the meat cuts. Would love to go again.
Just too expensive
I have been to a couple of Gaucho restaurants and I always hope that it is going to be better than the last time. It never is. The steaks are good but there are better places for steak, Hawksmoor for one. The biggest problem is it is just too expensive for what it is. Lunch for three, two courses and a bottle of wine at £250 is too much. I have learnt my lesson, not going again.
First the good news, our steaks were fabulous. One of our party had the seabass which was also delicious. We felt the sides could be a little more generous. Now for the not so good news. It is very expensive. We were 30 minutes early so they suggested we have a drink in the bar, good idea we thought. They told us it was waiter/waitress service so we sat down. 15 minutes later we had to flag someone down to get a drink order in. 20 minutes later they still hadn't arrived. Someone came to tell us our table upstairs was ready and they would bring the ordered drinks to our table. 20 minutes later we had to chase our drinks again. Took a shine off the evening. First rule of any restaurant is to make sure your guests are settled comfortably with a drink and water for the table. Epic fail.... Bill was £60 a head. We had no starters or deserts. A couple of coffees. One bottle of prosecco and one glass of house wine. However the steak was stunning so will give another try at some point.
5* dining experience
Me and my partner came here for our first anniversary meal. I wrote on the 'requirements' section when booking a booth would be lovely for the special occasion however I was not expecting much as they looked to be for only bigger groups! The staff were lovely, so polite and got us our booth table after seating us at a normal (still amazing!) table and were so apologetic! The service was amazing and the food was beautifully prepared and cooked to perfection. I cannot speak more highly of this place ! We will definitely be coming again!! New favourite ! Thank you gauchos for making a lovely evening a fabulous one!
Excellent food quality as always
Food quality is always perfect at Gaucho. If you are into steak this is the place to be. Although be prepared for a bit of a wait at the O2 on event night. There is a quick 2 hour rush before an arena show with attendee taking priority. so if your in a rush be sure to plan plenty time ahead so you can enjoy your experience and not rush.
