The food was excellent and our waiter was lovely. However it felt like some of the other staff were in fact members of the CIA and not in the food industry, walking around with their headsets on and stern faces seemed a little pompous. O2 0/10Gaucho's was excellent, six of us had a great meal, unfortunately the same cannot be said about where we were seated at the Rod Steward concert O2 theatre on 4th June 2013, we were seated high up on the left hand side of the stage. Rod put on a great show but the sound where we were was very rubbish, we found out later that a number of speakers were broken. Thanks O2 for spoiling what should have been an absolutely fantastic experience, you really need to get your act together.

I had a 400g rib-eye, which was cooked beautifully, and my girlfriend had the spiral-cut sirloin which also got excellent reviews. The chips weren't amazing, I can't speak for anything on the menu other than the steak, but on the basis of our experience we will definitely go again. We received a complimentary glass of champagne on arrival to help us celebrate and before ordering our waiter talked us through the cuts of steak and the way they prepare them. Our waiter also asked what wine we liked and then made a suggestion from the wine list and brought us a taster before we decided, and this was not just the more expensive wines on offer. The food was outstanding, cooked perfectly and exceeded our expectations, which were high already based on the experience friends have had there. It wasn't cheap, but for the quality on offer I wouldn't say it was overpriced either. Overall, an excellent dining experience.28/04/2013 00:00:00Upscale at the O2This is definitely the fanciest restaurant at the O2, and undoubtedly the most expensive. 2 fillet steaks, 3 sides, 4 shorts with mixers, and 2 desserts came to just over £150 BUT was absolutely worth it for a bit of a splurge pre concert. Excellent quality steaks perfectly cooked as requested, knock out desserts, great drinks, and decent enough sides made it one of the best meals I've had out in a good while. Add that to friendly and attentive service, sophisticated decor, mood lighting, and some great tunes at just the right level...and you've got yourself a winner for a top notch, chilled out meal before heading into an event. Yes, it's on the pricey side...but if you want to impress or woo someone, it's THE place at the O2 to do it. This was my first visit to gouchos and we were celebrating my sisters birthday. Our waiter was very knowledgable and gave a good service - unfortunately, our dining experience was somewhat tainted by a table of two young men sitting at a table two away from us - the table in the middle being empty. There were 4 of us and we have eaten here many times, in fact its a firm favourite. However this was our guests first time and they were a little unhappy about the service, the chaos, and most of all the problem with the credit card machines. That said - the food was fantastic as always. The point is - if you go on a concert night - it's gonna be busy - you have to go with the flow and accept that when everyone in the O2 is trying to pay at the same time - things can get a bit hit n miss.
