Diner Reviews
  • "Gaucho's has a very good quality product that is well cooked and presented. The level of service attempts to be highly professional but in our experience the staff were too busy to live up to the veneer of personal service. Our waitress had an extremely strong accent, coupled with noise from children at a neighbouring table and music that was too loud it was ridiculously difficult to communicate with her. The waitress in particular seemed impatient explaining menu items and waiting for our order. The views from the restaurant were fabulous, the food is overpriced, but I would consider going back at a less busy time and utilising the outdoor seating when it's warmer."

  • "We were lucky enough to have a table by the window so we had super views over the Thames. Service was very Good and the staff attentive. Would definitely go back."

  • "Lovely food, extra helpful, nice bar. Just a bit sad that our meals got mixed up and we didn't eat what we ordered!!"

  • "We had a fantastic evening celebrating a birthday and entertaining out of town guests. The meat board was a great introduction to our culinary adventure that was about to follow. All our steaks were perfectly cooked and the side orders were delicious especially the sweetcorn puree and sweet potato fries with chorizo bits. My only criticism would be the small sauce portions for the steaks. This was soon forgotten though when our trio of desserts arrived and suddenly everyone had a small space left for dessert!"

  • "We had a lovely evening the food was good but the cheapest bottle of wine was £30 it work out £70 per head with no desert"

  • "I've been here several times before and have loved the Churrasco de Lomo (fillet steak) but on this occasion half of the fillet was quite chewy and fatty, not what you expect from a steak that costs £45. The breads, sweet potatoes and spinach were all perfect and the Malbec we had was great. The star of the show didn't deliver on this occasion though, which was a disappointment. This sadly was the case on 3 out of the 6 steaks we ordered."

  • "Been to Gaucho's many times over the years & always come away feeling satisfied on all aspects of the whole experience"

  • "A very poor experience. Lighting so low that you cant even read the menu. Starter arrived before the wine. Had sides delivered which we didnt order and even after complaining they were still on our bill as well as other things we didnt order. And worst of all the were playing pretty loud dance music which simply did not fit with the ambience of what is a nicely furnished restaurant"

  • "I was quite excited to take my mother to Gaucho but the service and food was lacking. We had cocktails at the bar, but after 5 minutes had to ask for menus, had to ask to be seated at our table, had to ask for menus again, had to ask for napkins. It was a bit annoying as it was mothers day and I wanted the staff to be a bit more attentive. The food was not tasty - oyster mushrooms with garlic which I love normally, were limp and tasteless. The chorizo sausage was bland and could have been a normal pork sausage from Tesco. I sent my ravioli back to the kitchen it was so salty and hard. The hostess did offer to have it redone but I couldn't see it coming back tasty lol. A big disappointment though the cocktails were nice."

  • "Our dinner was one of the best, the food, the wine, the atmosphere all were perfect. Not too fond of the deserts menu, but then again, this is just personal taste.. The value was a bit on the expensive side, but will definately visit again."
    dined on 28/03/2014
  • "Good overall experience, food was tasty and well cooked. Would have liked a complimentary drink at the end given the amount of money we spent but the manager refused!"
    dined on 28/03/2014
  • "Was given a lovely table by the window as we mentioned it was my husbands 50th, also was given a desert with happy birthday written on the plate which was not asked for but a very nice thought ."
    dined on 24/03/2014
  • "Gaucho's Canary did it again - it was my third steak of the week and I really do think that, in London, Gaucho's is hard to beat for the quality and flavour of its steak. There were six of us and we had one of those lovely round tables near the window and the view of the Thames is also hard to beat. And once again they made the birthday boy feel special without embarrassing him!"

  • "From the moment we arrived everything was excellent. The staff were all very courteous and professional, and the food was, as always, superb. Very impressed."

  • "Service was outstanding, meal was fantastic and the overall experience was one to remember."

  • "Great service. The waiter was very knowledgeable about the food. Tables too close together and food and drink over priced, although very good. We had a mid week meal for 2, 2 courses and a bottle of wine-not extravgant. The bill was over £200."
    dined on 18/03/2014
  • "My wife enjoyed iberico pork at London Bridge branch and wanted the same. To be told there's no pork or lamb when both are in the menu was such a disappointment. The sirloin I had was lacking in flavour in the centre and was too chewy. The ribeye and butterfly ribeye were ok."
    dined on 16/03/2014
  • "Enjoyed the wonderful London sunny afternoon, looking out over the wharf. Make sure that you get a table outside. The service is outstanding and the steak is exquisite. Definitely a must for anyone looking for good Argentinian steak!"
    dined on 15/03/2014

  • "Everything wrong - cocktails so late turned up with starter - no wine till well into main - coffee before desert arrived - second and last bad experience at a Gauchos - food OK but overpriced poor service - avoid"
    dined on 07/03/2014
  • "The steak was run of the mill stuff which I could have cooked better myself. It was spiral cut rib eye which was somewhat tough and flavourless. The high prices were not justified. Service was attentive though the relentless efforts to upsell got a bit boring."
    dined on 08/03/2014
  • "We have been eating at the Gaucho for many years now as this is one of the few places to get a great steak in London"
    dined on 18/01/2014
  • "Had to wait 45min. beyond out reservation time. Service seemed rather organized and confused. Had to wait an additional 25min to pay our bill and receive our takeaway box following the meal. However, the food was definitely incredible."
    dined on 01/03/2014
  • "The best place for steak, food is astounding, the service was let down by the lack of speed with getting our table ready! Our table was booked for 9pm, we didn't get seated till 45 minutes after.... Also asked to take leftovers home, instead of a box I was given a cheap plastic container as they " ran out", however after complaining to the manager we were given a box and received an apology because the waiter couldn't be bothered to check the back for gaucho boxes. Price is decent and well worth it but worth upping their customer service skills!"
    dined on 01/03/2014
  • "Great food, amazing service and great venue. spend 3 hours there didn't even realise. = )"
    dined on 27/02/2014
  • "Dined here on Friday. Tables way too close together, which was quite uncomfortable. Too many staff who were too keen and we were not left for more than 5 mins without an interruption. Steak was one of the best I've tried however the chips were rubbish, tasted like frozen chips! Really nice meal, but needed space and time to ourselves."
    dined on 28/02/2014
  • "I booked this as it was my husbands birthday meal and had heard loads of good reports about the restaurant and the food. Both my husband and I are massive foodies and it was a pleasure to be somewhere where the service, the quality of food, and overall ambience was not a disappointment from the pre-received hype of the place. Both are looking forward to going back and bringing our daughter who is a foodie too."

  • "My partner and I visited Gaucho Canary Wharf for the first time this past weekend. The service was brilliant, the food amazing and the cocktails were lovely! I would highly recommend, the atmosphere and experience is great."
    dined on 22/02/2014
  • "Great Argentine Beef, excellent selection of Malbec wines. Domingo Molina's 2010 was fantastic. Try the Sauteed Oyster Mushrooms and the Sauteed Spinach as SIDE dishes to any of the Beef Steaks - especially the Bife de Lomo medium-rare at most...This place is great even for a lonely gourmet dinner. P.S. Tenderloin is the Argientine Filet :-)"
    dined on 18/02/2014
  • "Lovely restaurant and atmosphere, however the food was a let down. We ordered our steak well done but what we received was at best medium rare. It was a pity that having paid so much for a meal it was not very enjoyable."
    dined on 15/02/2014
  • "I took my husband here for Valentines Day, food was superb and you can't beat Argentinian steak wherever you are in the world. All staff were friendly, attentive and knowledgeable we appreciated the efforts put in to make our meal great. As many reviews state the downside is the darkness of the restaurant you can't even take a photo inside unless its with a flash, was very difficult to read the cocktail menu other menus where fine. Some reviews say its over priced, no its not, you pay for what you get which is good quality meat, our bill was £163 that was with starters, big mains, 1 dessert, 2 coffees, 2 cocktails, 2 bottles of still water and, 2 glasses of bubbly! quite reasonable I think!"
    dined on 14/02/2014
  • "Very good service and the food as always was perfect. But it is becoming increasingly expensive and overpriced."
    dined on 14/02/2014
  • "Great food, shame about being rushed within 45 minutes of arriving we had eaten the complimentary bread our starters and finished our main meal. They rushed it all too much which ruined it for us! Once we finished our main we was not offered any more drinks and after sitting there for a while with empty glasses we finally got a waitresses attention and asked to be moved to the bar so we could relax and have a couple more drinks."
    dined on 14/02/2014
  • "We went to gaucho for valentines night. First time for both of us and we were blown away by the food. I had the largest steak I had ever seen, and she had fillet steak medallions. I couldn't recommend it enough. If you love steak, (and have deep pockets) it's a must!"
    dined on 14/02/2014
  • "My boyfriend and I had a lovely time here. He brought me here initially for my birthday 3 months ago and we had a delicious meal. We decided to come back for valentines day, it was just as we expected. The food was delicious, the ambience was perfect and the staff are lovely. The lady that showed us to our seats on my birthday even remembered us from then and gave us some complimentary drinks! The view is lovely over the river and you can see far out across the city. We'll definitely be back for our 1 year anniversary in a few weeks."
    dined on 14/02/2014
  • "Really nice for a one off occasion but a bit pricey. The steak is outstanding and it's worth trying at least once!"
