A word from Galvin at Windows
Located high up on the 28th floor of the London Hilton at 22 Park Lane, Galvin at Windows restaurant and bar has become one of the capital’s most talked-about destination dining venues since its opening in 2006. Head Chef Joo Won and Chef Patron Chris Galvin have created seasonally inspired menus based around modern French haute cuisine that have now earned the restaurant its first, much-deserved Michelin Star. Renowned for its peerless views over the capital, including iconic sites like Hyde Park and Buckingham Palace, Galvin at Windows is a restaurant where honest food and genuine hospitality are already a tradition after just a few short years. Because of the elegance of the room and the jaw-dropping 360-degree views, Galvin at Windows is certainly a destination restaurant with fine service and all the trimmings. But, clever Galvin staff, the set lunch menu and bar express menu bring this sublime French cuisine within reach.Continued

Diner Reviews
  • "What a disappointment. Booked for lunch with a friend the spring offer of 3 courses and 2 glasses of wine for £29. Bargain! Despite being half empty we did not get the window table we had requested. I guess that's because we booked the cheap offer! Service throughout was very poor. Our white wine was brought long before we'd finished our G&T so was warm by the time our starters turned up. Twice waiters tried to give us food that was for other tables. We were given a coat check ticket that was for another table. To top it all one of our credit cards was double charged. To be fair they spotted it before we left but took 20 mins to reverse it during which time we were not even offered complimentary coffee. Food OK but not 1star standard."

  • "Had lunch with my wife, food was delicious, although portions were small. Staff very professional, attentive and friendly. The views from the restaurant are quite something in this beautiful part of London. Overall I would recommend."

  • "It was my husband's birthday so I treated him to Sunday lunch at Galvin at Windows in central London. The set menu offer was amazing and truly good value for money. The food and wine was tasty and enjoyable, with great presentation and reasonable choices. Without the offer I think it would be a little over priced. Staff were polite, attentive but not intrusive and kindly seated us at a window seat, which was appreciated as the view was worth it. I would definitely return and recommend this restaurant to anyone, especially with the offer."

  • "Very good meal and service. Good view, of course. Would definitely return but 2 hr seating a little tight on the rate of service they provide, so book later slots or go for lunch."

  • "Highly recommended. Had dinner with sister, who I reunited after not seeing each other for 6 years. Food was outstanding and so as view. If you like to impress your companion, either business or romance, this place would be the one of your top choice from London."

  • "The menu is well considered and the staff are attentive. The lift up to the 28th floor all adds the sense of occassion."

  • "Wonderful ambience and location with stunning views across London. Service was warm, charming and faultless. We had the menu prestige and our bill came to just over £200 for two - and we did not have many drinks. Standard of cooking was excellent, though portions of vegetables were minute. £5 extra for about a tablespoon of broccoli! Scallop starter was wonderful. The monkfish disappointed but the beef and ox cheek was very good. Notable absence of pork and poultry for the menu, which restricted my partner's choice considerably. Not sure about the herb ice creams in the desserts, though. Very good lounge bar- leave time to have a drink there beforehand and enjoy the stunning views."

  • "My husband & I booked dinner here very last minute. We chose the set menu with champagne. The food was beautiful, although the portions are on the small size! Flavours were amazing, & the chocolate mousse comes highly recommended. The restaurant setting is outstanding & the service faultless. If you get a chance to dine here, you must!"

  • "The food, surroundings and service is great as it has been on previous visits, however we went on a deal this time and it really felt like it. The attention to detail in the service simply wasn't there.. If you go, don't go on a deal.. You really don't save anything in the long run anyway..."

  • "Shame we didn't get a window view but the food & service were excellent! With the set deal, it's outstanding value too!"

  • "Galvin truly lived up to its reputation - and its Michelin star - with wonderful food and impeccable service. Every course was beautifully presented, and tasted just as good as it looked - and the little extras were lovely, as well. Wine is extremely pricey but well worth it. I'm not much of a red drinker, but the sommelier recommended a Rioja that was just beautiful and complimented my beef dish perfectly. There is a 2 hour turnaround on the tables, but, honestly, the service is so seamless, you never feel rushed. It's probably the most expensive meal I've ever had, so I don't think I'll be going back anytime soon, but the next occasion that merits a big splurge will be celebrated here."

  • "A special celebratory lunch for my family of five at Galvin at Windows was simply icing on the cake! Buckingham Palace followed by lunch at Galvin's could not be faulted. Food, service, ambience, a window table, very polite, friendly, & attentive staff made it perfect. We had the £50 option, 3 courses & half bot of wine with water & coffee. We enjoyed mackerel and duck for starters, lamb, cod & risotto for main course and a mixture of deserts & cheeses, all excellent. The accompanying wines were very good as were the coffees. Complementary course of chocolates, marshmallows and a very generous bottle of champagne only added to the occasion. Could not have asked for more, thank you to the GM Fred and all at Galvin's, we will return."

  • "The food was fantastic - beautifully cooked and presented. The service was attentive without being over fussy. We had the set lunch and the choice was excellent. As a starter I had the duck breast which was excellent - having being disappointed at another restaurant I was apprehensive but there was no need as it was perfect."

  • "Time your table for sunset and get unbeatable views of London in daylight then twinkling at night. Try the Amuse Bouche menu with wine for a special occasion as although pricey makes for a much more memorable evening."

  • "We had a great meal here with fantastic staff and great views over London. A great place to impress so dresses up and enjoy the atmosphere."

  • "I held a Business Dinner for a party of four and our seating was for 2100. We did not get our main courses until nearly 2300 and by midnight the waiting staff were hovering over our table as they wanted to leave. This was a very high profile dinner for my business and the bill was over £600 for four people so not inexpensive. I thought the waiting staff were unprofessional, lacked discretion and the whole evening was quite stressful and not relaxed. The upsale on champagne was constant and I was interupted several times when in discussions which was most disconcerting."

  • "We enjoyed Galvins the other evening albiet a tad pricey. Atmosphere was fabulous and the table we sat at had a magnificent window view. Staff very friendly a great special occasion venue."

  • "Food I thought the flavours for all 3 courses were very well thought out. Wine - AWESOME Service Reception staff were lovely Our waitress was probably quite new; seemed a little apprehensive. The gentleman that took our order (matradee of the night) maybe didnt write down the order correctly because the cutlery was set out wrong and we ended up swapping dishes. One of the waiters RUSHED past our table and subsequently hit my Dad on the shoulder rubbing butter and crumbs on his suit jacket-NOT IMPRESSED -the worst thing -(from this experience; considering the type of establishment) -unacceptable; now if it were Nandos. -the best thing - the view and the draped seating area lit in gold, awesome for cocktails-next visit."

  • "Myself and my husband enjoyed this restaurant. Very quick and attentive service. The views were amazing. Would definitely attend again, although only for special occasions, as even though we had the 3 course meal for £39 each, the total bill ended up on the high side, although didn't mind paying this for the food and service delivered."
    dined on 28/03/2014
  • "Stunning views. Excellent food and service impeccable. Beautiful place to go with partner or group of friends. Lovely ambience."
    dined on 31/03/2014
  • "We were on a special offer but were given a window table which was a plus. We ordered the food and one person was selecting the wine but the appetisers arrived before the wine was selected (say about 5-7 mins after ordering). Some of the food was hot so by the time the wine arrived it was cold. We commented that the appetisers were too fast so then we had a gap of nearly an hour before our main courses arrived. The food was nothing exceptional. They did apologise and took us out through the kitchen to a balcony so we could see the view. Given that Galvin at Windows is supposed to be known for it's service - it was even more disappointing. They should take some lessons from Michel Roux at the Landau - that's how it should be done."

  • "I took my husband to Windows for his birthday lunch and it was fantastic. The service was friendly and attentive without being overwhelming, the view is very impressive and the food wonderful. It was obviously that the chefs had taken a lot of care with every dish. The only thing I found slightly strange was the price difference between menus. At lunch there are only three menus available ( and unless you can face a mammoth course tasting menu in the middle of the day) there are only two menus. One is priced at under £30 and the other is almost £70. My husband and I both commented that there did not seem to be enough difference between the two menus to justify the price difference making it hard to choose the prestige menu."
