I've dined in Istanbul so I do have a comparison. Service was very good, below Michelin-starred type but se were not expecting that in a relaxed restaurant like this one. Atmosfere was really good, there was a belly dancing show performed by a very good dancer who involved us in her numbers so those who wanted to could try dancing themselves. She was so friendly that at the end the dinner felt rather like a party for someone we all knew rather than some random gathering of people. I recommend this place for dinner with friends, business lunch just as well.11/05/2013 00:00:00Great restaurant!!My colleagues and I go for a weekly meal at a different central London restaurant once a week and we take it in turns to select a place. When I heard the name Fora, a Turkish restaurant in Aldgate/Bank area, I was surprised as I hadn't heard about it before - but now I have, I can't stop talking about it!
Great service, ridiculously great food, good ambiance and very reasonable for the price.
I had humus starter, and a lamb dish for mains. I am already excited to go back there in a couple of weeks!

Most of our group had a Mixed Grill which everybody thoroughly enjoyed, myself and one other had the Cetik which was delicious.
I would definitely recommend this restaurant to my friends, and the Belly dancer was a surprise and she was excellent.

We only chose the main course and drinks since the cold and hot starters as well as the desserts were part of the menu. The mixed grill and the sea bass were excellent. We ended up paying 20 pounds per person plus drinks and service charge which was a great price! The service was very good and the ambience was also good although a bit noisy because it is a large room and the restaurant was busy... The ambiance is great - stylish decor and surroundings, the service is wonderful, and most importantly, the food is fantastic. If you go for one of the 'set menus' (where this is still a great deal to choose from), we went for the 'Ottoman Feast' at around £23 a head, then the value for money is superb. Every dish was really tasty - but the portions are HUGE! So either go really hungry, or alternatively share a main between more people. On Fridays and Saturdays they have a belly dancer performing, which was rather entertaining. The music is loud while she performs, but it is not for too long so it doesn't get in the way of your conversation over dinner. Had a great table in view of the entertainment but secluded enough for privacy. The food was cooked well and the courses well paced. We had 2 courses each, a bottle of good wine and liquer coffees and the bill came to less than £80 including service, which for central London is excellent value. The menu is based on classical Turkish recipes, but with a Greek influence, and with straight 'Western' dishes for the unadventurous. All well-prepared and nicely presented. Even a very acceptable Turkish red wine.

We were a little early but shown straight to our table and given our free glass of bubbly. We ordered a bottle of Rioja for £23 and our starters appeared. The portions of each dips were very big but I did have to ask for extra bread (at no charge). The falafel were the lightest I've ever tasted and very enjoable. I ordered for main chicken & mushroom with shrips in a garlicy creamy sauce. It was delicious!! My boyfriend had the Centrik Special which was mixed meats with matchstick chips and a sauce (bit like an Iskender kebab I thought) he too said was very nice. 4 choices of dessert on one plate and a bil of £70 inc service charge.
