From the minute we arrived, there was 6 of us, the staff aimed to meet all out needs, evening taking our jackets back up to the cloakroom.
We booked the table for 18:30, perfect if you want to be dining when everyone else starts arriving about 30 minutes after as we was settled in and got to enjoy the magician they hired for a couple of hours.
There was a good selection food to choose from on the set menu so do not feel like I compromised on food at all....it was delicious! Two live bands and lots of dancing. The fixed price menu was limited but we all found dishes we enjoyed and portions were good. The staff were very helpful without being overbearing. The ambience put me in mind of the club in the film Carlito's Way. It was beautifully turned out and seeing a couple dance Salsa to the live band was amazing interactive entertainment... I may take lessons for the next time I go :-)
The food was amazing. I had a really light Palm Heart salad, a succulent rump steak and a gooey chocolate pudding. This was washed down with a delicate Malbec that the Restaurant Manager recommended.
Our waiter (Tico) was the perfect host and explained the history behind the bar and made sure we were looked after. He also put a candle on my date’s dessert as it was her birthday.

I had previously been later in the evening and was worried that she might find it a little loud or overwealming but our early eveing booking was perfect. We had a lovely table on the edge of the dancefloor and the service was attentive but not imposing. The band set a lovely ambience but was more sedate than the more lively groups I had previously seen later at night. The food was of a high quality and a fair choice for a set menu, although we did end up racking up a reasonable bill with additional sides and wine. In all great food and a unique venue. We got a warm welcome at 8pm and were invited to have a drink in the bar before sitting down, there was no time pressure. They served Argentinian sparkling wine rather than cava or prosecco...everything has a latino flavour. When we were shown to our table (right in front of the stage), we found a similarly-themed menu and wine list - we tried a Brazilian riesling, well worth the money. Service was great, super friendly, and whilst we found ourselves shouting at each other across the table while the band played, they weren't always performing and it really added to the atmosphere and experience. Yes, the music can be a little loud if you are seated right in front of the stage and dancing area but you do get a great view of the guys n gals doing their salsa stuff. Even so, you can still hold a conversation whilst taking-in the view :-)
Food was good without being spectacular. Was dining on a special TopTable fixed-price deal which was great value. Bar has a great selection of rums and was given a free taster to try.
