El CantaraFabulous flamencoHad a booking for Saturday night using a Livingsocial voucher for 3 courses and sangria. No menu restrictions so We had 2 sharing tapas followed by 2 mains, Mixed grill and Fish Tagine both of which were super. Whilst eating dessert of cheesecake and baklava a musician arrived and sang and played guitar while a beautiful belly dancer shimmied around the room. She was followed by a male and female flamenco act, again with live music. Great atmosphere, reasonably priced food and wine. Will go again.27/04/2013 00:00:00Lunch brunchI went for a light lunch, chose the Gamabas al Ajillo as a starter, and the Paella Valenciana as a main, the food was great, better than la Tasca, and the service was so friendly and effective.
I truly recommend this place.26/04/2013 00:00:00El Cantara i could not faultEl Cantara i could not fault in anyway , the staff were so very helpful and polite , the food was to die for so tasty and it was so nice not to be rushed thought the meal . Will revisit on my next trip to London!30/03/2013 00:00:00I have been to El CantaraI have been to El Cantara over 3 times now in the last year. The food is great and so is the service. Highly recommended.21/02/2013 00:00:00A fun start to the eveningI booked El Cantara as a start to my 30th birthday celebrations, the central location was ideal for my friends to meet and the tapas style sharing meant everyone could enjoy it. The restaurant was very friendly and accomodating, I had a table booked for 9 which meant we were given a set menu, but the food & cocktails were plentiful and there were many options, even for the vegetarians amongst us (my meat eating friends particularly favoured the lamb tagine and spicy sausages). The ambience was fantastic, especially when the flamenco dancer and belly dancer arrived! The price was reasonable for London (although be aware a 12.5% service charge is automatically added to your bill). Many thanks, I would highly recommend this restaurant.16/02/2013 00:00:00Pre Theatre TapasWe booked this restaurant for lunch because of its location (just round the corner from the Theatre where we were attending a matinee) - it turned out to be an excellent choice. The restaurant was quiet when we went and we had a super table in the window to watch the world go by. We had spanish beers and four tapas dishes and all of them were great. The service was good and the price was very reasonable - we couldn't have asked for much more. Would certainly book again if we have another show to see in the area.28/01/2013 16:00:00El CantaraA group of 5 of us had a meal here before going to the theatre on a Saturday night and were greeted by very friendly staff. The ambiance and decor of the place was lovely and you immediately felt very relaxed. All of my party chose a Moroccan dish, with myself choosing a lamb tagine, which was delicious. Will definitely recommend.04/01/2013 16:00:00Fun atmosphere and plentiful foodGoing as part of the group meant having the set menu- this was perfect- great mix of dishes, lots of things to try and the food arrived swifty and it tasted great.19/12/2012 16:00:00El Cantara, soho is a livelyEl Cantara, soho is a lively venue with live belly dancing which is a good crack. Ambience is very good and it is a comfortable resto. Food being a mix of Spanish tapas and Moroccan gives a good choice. It is generally pretty good quality, (though I have had better) and I would say portion sizes were a tad small given the prices (and even for Tapas). It's not going to be cheap given in the heart of Soho, but you can get better value in the local I think.03/05/2012 00:00:00El Cantara is a fun restaurantEl Cantara is a fun restaurant with great entertainment.20/04/2012 16:00:00Food was better than I rememberedFood was better than I remembered from a previous visit. But the main reason for returning is still the shisha terrace - always pleasant! I'm not a fan of the belly dancing displays, but presume others would enjoy them.16/02/2012 16:00:00
