We had a great time at Dinner. Both starters and mains are exquisite, the wine list - impeccable and service - efficient. Loved the Meat Fruit, fillet steak and the Tipsy Cake. Shame there is no tasting menu as one ends up wanting to try everything. The earl-grey and orange-infused chocolate ganache is a lovely complement
I went with my husband to celebrate our first anniversary. The reservation was done from Brazil and worthwhile each pound. Amazing food, service made us feel special. I was afraid to try the pig ear and belly. Amazing!
Went there for lunch with my daughter. The food was outstanding and the service impeccable. It was good to be able to view the chefs hard at work and to see their dedication with food. I would happily go there again.
Had a really great evening. We chose the famous 'meat fruit' for starters and the 'duck breast' for main course. Never tasted a better duck!! The cooking is robust but delicious and refined. Don't expect molecular food or the typical 3 michelin star dining experience, you may visit in jeans, but the food is unparalleled at this level and price. Wonderful evening!!

Last year we visited 3 restaurants in the top 50 of the world: Dinner, Le Chateaubriand and La Osteria Francescana. Friends of ours then asked us what our favorite was overall, so we would go back to that one the 4 of us. That is how we came back to Heston's for the second time. We flew in from Holland, our friends came from Poland. We were hoping we would be just as impressed as the first time, and were not let down. Favorite dishes this time: earl grey cured salmon as a starter (although the meat fruit is still stunning), the rib-eye as main and the super classic but oh so perfect tipsy cake for dessert. Service was again very professional and friendly. Our table was near the kitchen, so we could take a look at the perfect job of the kitchen personnel. Very inspiring! Just thinking: maybe we should make this a yearly thing... Thank you again!

Amazing food and service. One of The best desert I've ever had in tipsy cake. Very good stater in rice and flesh. Main of halibut was very fishy.... If your concerned with cost then don't go here, for us was a birthday treat
I was so dissatisfied. I am so sorry.
The problem is not the price , although the wine is extremely overboard price-wife. The problem is that the service is merely ok, the food is ok plus and the athmosphere is ok. But ok is what you want in a normal restaurant. This was suppose to be special and it was not. Highlight was the brioche (dessert) but apart from that nothing blew me away. I have eaten in numerous Michelin-starred restaurants and this was the biggest disappointment. I am sorry . Not good enough.
Simply the best! Highly recommended!
My partner and I book a lunch time set menu for the excellent value of £38. We added the wine tasting option and also added an extra recommendation to the menu. The meat fruit starter. The menu had 2 dishes and desserts. The staff are all super trained to explain exactly what is being served and are very professional. We were given a new servillete before the one we dropped touched the floor! Always vigilant without us noticing. This lunch was definitely the best I have ever had! The dishes serve the correct amount to even share and the wine glasses are generous. The value for money is exceptional! Total £150 for 2 with wine tasting menu incl. an extra dish. We can't wait to go back and try the chef's table menu.
I had wanted to go to Dinner for some time now, and I'm pleased to say that I wasn't in the slightest bit disappointed. I was told by a friend who arrived earlier than me that the bar area was not overly friendly and that security asked her to move as, unbeknownst to her she was sitting in a private area (security being called seemed a little far fetched, but I believe this was more of a reflection of the clientele than the staff). Nevertheless, once we entered the main restaurant we had no disappointments. Our waitress and sommellier were both extremely friendly and helpful. The food was all fantastic as were our waitress' personal recommendations (the meat fruit and the tipsy cake). The whole menu was very unique and they really paid attention to the finer details, such as the little notes about the history of British food. The overall experience was fantastic, and I would recommend to anyone, although perhaps skip the bar area.
It's just perfect!
Dinner by Heston Blumenthal is just perfect with the delicious food, excellent service, and the glamorous yet relaxing environment. It isn't pricy at all in regard of the quality or I would even say it's a super nice bargain since they're not charging high. Waiters there know the every detail of their dishes well that they would always give you the most informative answer on your questions about the food. Although they have a long wine list, they know each of the wine and would recommend you the best match with your dish with thoughtful reasons and detailed explanations supplemented in their answers. It's a pity that we were just traveling the UK or we would definitely come frequent for the exceptionally high quality of the restaurant as a whole! Still, we will for sure come back when we visit the UK again in the future!
I was really excited to finally dine at Dinner at the Mandarin Oriental. The hotel's facade was impressive and inviting. The restaurant itself was a little intimidating. The dark colours and high ceilings and General ambience just didn't make me feel comfortable. The staff were well informed and seemed to really enjoy working there. An attempt an interacting with the guests is made but ever so slightly carefully as not to offend. The food was of course, as expected rather wonderful. The only disappointment being the Pigeon. We had the fruit cake, marrow boat, chicken main, chocolate bar, pineapple and brioche and goats cheesecake. The goats cheesecake being a little heavy and the chocolate bar a must for die hard chocolate fans. The bill for 2 people with 3 glasses of wine and 2 cocktails came to £290!!! I am not sure that food should ever cost this much though and walked away guilty at such extravangance. If you have endless pockets go for it- if not you can definitely eat elsewhere for far cheaper and equally tasted chicken liver parfait , albeit not shaped like a tangerine!
What a delightful and memorable experience.
The food was not only delicious but delightfully presented as well. Sarah and her staff were very attentive, courteous and friendly. We could not believe how well every item was presented. We would definitely recommend this to our friends.
nice food but over priced
Brought my wife for her birthday. Buzzy place. Thought it would be quiet romantic place. Had the steak. The mushroom sauce tasted like housing sauce. But steak was nice. My wife had the duck. Nicely done but skin is uneatable. Accompanying beetroot purée tasted like BBQ sauce. Trying too hard to revitalise old recipes with little gain. Service was very good. Disappointing for 2 star Michelin restaurant. Too pricey for what u get. Same quality of food for less elsewhere. Won't be going there again.
Lovely venue and staff however.....
I never expect too much from dining out since becoming a vegan. However, I had higher expectations from Heston. I had 4 stalks of celery with 4 walnuts and some pickles, £28. Very strong complex flavours, not to everyone's taste. I should have asked for a bespoke dish but I was embarrassed as it was so busy. I finished the dish but was still hungry. The wine was nice.
Excellent service, fabulous food
Service was very good, from the reception to the waiters attending us. Food was extraordinary and scrumptious, especially the Tipsy cake.
Great set lunch
Scrumptious set lunch that's value for money. Cheerful and attentive service. Serving size looks small but actually really filling.
No wonder this place wins so many awards!! It was amazing ! The food is as good as it can get! Not sure if you really can beat it! Service and staff exceeded expectations, we sat by the kitchen to watch the chefs and it was very interesting. The ice cream show was great as they made fresh ice cream for us with their liquid nitrogen.
Dinner with my daughter.
On Sunday 8th November I shared a wonderful evening of chat and gossip with my daughter at Dinner. It was however a surprise to find that the food fell short of both our expectations. There was essentially nothing wrong with the presentation or the food which could warrant complaint, but it just had absolutely no wow factor. My meat fruit starter tasted merely like a soft duck pate, and my daughters frog porridge bland. Our main course of the shared beef on the bone was tasteless, chewy, and sinewy. The beef was cooked as requested but was of a poor quality of meat. Again not something that is cause for complaint, I think with beef you win some you loose some. The Brown Bread Ice Cream desert I found very sugary and over sweet, but this I would put down to a personal preference issue, the Sambocade however was delightful. The service was fine, but set against a meal which disappointed I would have to say the overall experience was a let down. Perhaps we sometimes as diners expect too much. I don't know, do we?
I had the Meat Fruit, Duck with Potatoes and Pineapple Dessert. All three were incredible tasting. I was worried that the restaurant might feel stuffy given the accolades but the wait staff was delightful. Truly, an event as well as a meal.
Wonderful dinner with excellent food and wines perfect service and good value for money
This was quite the best meal the four of us have had in a very long time, and we do quite a bit of fine dining. The service was good, the prices quite steep, but the taste of the food, all three courses, was superb. The sommelier was helpful too, unearthing a two reasonably priced bottles in a ludicrously overpriced wine list
Food YES! Service..mm...nope.
If you are looking for a culinary experience, Dinner will be right up your alley. The food was beautiful, well portioned, delicious and exciting - (and educational too!). While the service was well informed and pleasant, it was non-attentive and uninterested in keeping pace through the courses. We waited a lot (and said - "i wonder when.." too many times.. and had to ask for the wine list twice). at a restaurant of this calibre of food I was surprised. Again - the food is phenomenal, and being able to watch the kitchen work was enthralling. I just wish that our service would have matched the quality of the meal.
Best Meal We Ever Had
We arrived and were kindly greated by the staff to our seats . Then our menus were brung to us where she talked us through them . She came back a few minuites later requested our drinks then followed by food .the food was unbelieveable i do not wont to spoil it for you . we are going back in december as we loved it so much . heston blumenthal himself was sat next to us .
Another outstanding experience
We returned for a birthday celebration, and the food this time was even better than our previous visits! Cooked to perfection and the desserts were an amazing blast of flavours (we hadn't tried these before). Service impeccable and our Sommelier recommended the best wine we've had in ages!. Thank you all very much for another fantastic experience.
Lunch with 3 kids.
We were warmly welcomed by everybody in the restaurant. We and the kids( 6y, 9y twin) had a fabulous meal and it was really nice to see that they did everything to please us. We had the lunch for 3 persons, one meal for a small child and one a la carte meal. Each dish was simply marvellous. I'll recommend this restaurant to our friends and family. Absolutely child friendly.
Worth a special trip
If you want an experience and not simply a meal this is the place for you. However, you certainly have to be a foodie to appreciate it. The food is superb and imaginative, not like anything you have tasted before. If you have plenty of money, good for you; if not, save and treat yourself to something extraordinary before you die. Allow yourself to follow the sommelier's advice and indulge in exquisite wines to go with your meal (they do ask you about your budget). Bring someone special to share it with. PS. If you have been to "The Fat Duck" this is completely different.
The Weekday Set Lunch was GREAT!
We were warmly welcomed when we arrived and the wait staff were super attentive to us throughout our whole dining experience. We ordered the set lunch and each time a dish came, the item was explained clearly to us upon service. Each dish was paced out nicely and tasted absolutely divine. Loved the experience, from the service to the food! Please try this if you're in London!
More relaxed atmosphere
This is second time I had lunch at this restaurant. The food is as excellent as before, but the service is much more relaxed and friendly. I liked it!
Wonderful food and ambience
A great junction of new and old in the food. The service is perfect!
He did it again
I once had the chance to go to the fat duck and that was really the best meal I ever had. I didn't know if it was a good idea to go to dinner as I had this unbelievable memory of a few years ago. As I saw Dinner is in the San Pelligrino50 best I and in the top 10 I was sure I must try it. Ans I was right. It's a totally different experience. Here you orde appetizer ,main and dessert. They are all very good, as it are 3 courses you can taste what you eat and enjoy. Sometimes I have the feeling when I go to a gastronomic restaurant with 10 courses If there is something very good you can only take 2 or 3 bites and at the end it's difficult to remember what you ate. Here it's not like that original end very good plates and a reasonable time, within 2 hours you had a top dinner experience.
The food is outstanding, and the knowledge of the staff a great plus. My only problem with the restaurant is that, having been there several times, I have worked through most of the item on the menu that interest me. The menu is in need of a refresh, and I am not sure I will visit again until this has happened...
Lunch at Dinner
We went for a late lunch sitting at 14:30 on a Saturday. We arrived right on time and had to wait a few minutes for our table. We had a nice table located near to the kitchen so could see all the food being prepared. We were straight away offered water and whether we would like any aperitifs. We all went for cocktails which were all of a high standard. The food is all based on historical recipes that have been given a modern twist and each one lived up to our expectation. Particular note was the Meat Fruit for stater and Spiced Pigeon for main. Desert were a little disappointing but was made up by the ice cream trolley. Overall the service was fantastic with the right amount of attentiveness and we all had a great time.
Lunching at dinner
Having been to the restaurant when it first opened, we were a little nervous that it may been unrecognisable. We shouldn't have worried however, as the world renown 'Meat Fruit' was exactly as we had remembered, and so was the show stopping 'Tipsy Cake'; fantastic. Overall the food was of an outstanding quality and preparation (although you'd expect nothing less from such an establishment), and we were treated to a nitro ice-cream (that was off the menu), which was also highly enjoyable. Our only niggles were that at times the service was mixed, and the prices are definitely at the aggressive end of the spectrum.

Was a great meal with a imaginative menu. Perfect venue for a special occasion or if your just after a memorable experience. I'll be going back.
This is our second visit and there certainly will be a third one soon. Every part of the visit was perfect.....in fact a treat.

Every meal was amazing. The staff were exceptional in their service and when we asked about recommendations they did not put us wrong. For an experience not to be missed this is the place.
Booked this restaurant for our last night in London for our 10th anniversary. We never thought such a lauded restaurant could fall so short of the mark. Was it just a REALLY off night? The pork chop was grey. They must have a phenomenal PR agency. Don't believe the hype.

From start to finish this was an incredible experience. All of the staff are incredibly attentive. The meat fruit and frogs legs put my scallops to shame. Between 3 of us we ordered the pork, duck and pigeon-again all meats were fantastic but the favourite of the table was the duck! The pineapple dessert was the star of the show though and well worth ordering early for. Overall an absolutely wonderful experience-we can't wait to go again!
I'm surprised it has 2 Michelin stars. As good as the food is, it's easy to end up ordering something that you could get pretty much anywhere. The restaurant is pretty big, so it's also possible you end up down a corridor where there is next to no atmosphere. Wine glasses weren't always filled up and I had to ask for our glasses to be re filled twice. Overall I'd say it's ok, but not blown away. Maybe I just ordered the wrong dishes.
Excellent romantic evening
