Melati Restaurant is just a hop, skip and jump from Piccadilly Circus, and offers three floors of flavours from the mystic far East. Unpretentious and kid-friendly, visitors can select from a grand menu of authentic Indonesian, Malaysian and Singaporean dining. Favorite (and top-selling) dishes include giant bowls of Singapore laksa, a creamy coconut soup with rice, noodles and seafood, and rending padang, a heavily spicy beef curry. Set menu options are available for parties of 10 or more. With generations of families coming here, it’s easy to see how this has become a Soho institution.

The Melati is a good restaurant and we had a great meal. Bit disappointed that no high chair was available.

Food is quite authentic to the indonesian & malaysian style or cooking. Service was ok but does not come with any smiles. I'm not sure why people say price is on the cheap side, 3 dishes for 2 pax with white rice came up to £48. There was a compulsory 10% service charge already calculated into the bill. I wouldn't have given 10% since I didn't get any cheery service. Recommend to come only for food... even then mainly the one dish meals unless you have spare cash.

The service was slightly slow but I think this was because we confused them by ordering starters then ordering more starters and main courses (they waited to cook our mains so we waited a while for food, meanwhile getting very drunk). I actually didn't mind as I hate being rushed in restaurants and feeling like I have to wolf my food and go.

The owners of Melati clearly focus on the important business of providing fantastic food at excellent prices before worrying about the general decor, but don't let that put you off. I'll be going back. My only "complaint" would be that the Singaporean Laksa was simply too big to eat, although I did try!

This was my second visit to the place. It was fabulous the first time ... but i guess we were all too drunk to appreciate (or not) the food.... This time, either we made very bad choices, or it was just bad. The ginger chicken was tooooo dry and the Sambal DIDNT taste like sambal. It tasted like sweet and sour chicken.... disappointed.

this was my second visit to melati and i think the service was better this time. as usual the food was delicious, especially the garlic chicken - a must! the bill for 5 of us was only £70 so prices are reasonable too.

Great for a birthday celebration! I was presented with a huge plate of pineapple and banana fritters with ice cream and a candle on top and offered a HUGE birthday drink!

Melati has good asian food at a reasonable price. I have been there quite a few times, however this time i went they had seemed to have changed their menu. The food wasn't as good this time, which is a shame as i was really looking forward to it. The service was great and very attentive.
