If romance is in the cards, then look no further than Covent Garden’s Clos Maggiore. Echoing the stylish country inns of Provenance and Tuscany, the warmly muted décor, low lighting and welcoming log fire were clearly designed with love in mind. Seasonally-inspired, classic French cuisine coupled with impeccable service is the order of the day at Clos Maggiore, with a focus on chic presentation and bold flavours. Sample braised shoulder of rabbit with sweet & sour black radish and wholegrain mustard mousseline, or a flavoursome roast black leg chicken with foie gras, petits pois a la francaise and smoked bacon cream. Wine buffs will adore the list – it’s won a Best Award of Excellence from Wine Spectator.

Based on a sample of 3, Clos Maggiore offers excellent service and very good food. The wine list is a bit daunting both in terms of price and choice but the staff are pleased to advise should you need it. we were on business but it struck us all as a nice place for a romantic dinner.

The food (especially the desert) and service were beautiful at Clos Maggiore however we were seated in the main restaurant very very close to the next table. I would recommend the restaurant but would request to be seated in the conservatory which is lighter and did not appear to be so closely seated together.

Excellent service! Although my husband and I could not get a good table at Clos Maggiore, they treated us so special. It was our wedding anniversary and they served us sweets with decoration of the words 'Happy Anniversary' on the plate. Food was exquisite. Moreover, they did not charge us a glass of beer that my husband ordered just because it was not served for 20 mins or so (We did not complained about it but they realised we waited long and the beer was on the house!).

We visited Clos Maggiore on a Sunday evening with the 3 course menu for £19.50. Food was excellent, service was great and the restaurant itself is lovely. Great value with the set menu as it is quite expensive without it. Will definitely return.

Clos Maggiore is an oasis in Covent Garden, a million miles from the crowded scene and a few minutes to theatreland. Pre-theatre dinner is at this place is great. Fois gras, rib-eye steak, and chocolate mousse in an outside-inside room with the ambiance of al fresco dining is delightful. The service is so firendly and efficient, the environment so relaxed, the price so affordable, the wine list so extensive. Our favourite and first time choice for early dining.

we took the vegetarian tasting menu for £100 pp. food was good except for 1-2 courses which were bit off the track but wine accompanying the 6 courses was not upto the notch...i would expect better accompanying wone for £110 pp and not something which doesn't taste expensive and good. ambience was good..we sat outside in the conservatory and wondered how the exterior may not give you a good idea of interior...overall fine but not something to which i would like to return next week or month.

Rather limited menu options, but for £20 a head for three courses, this is exceptional value. The service was superb and the winelist exceptional. With a great location I would highly recommend Clos Maggiore.
