  • Public Transit: Trains: There is a main rail stop in the town of Llandudno Junction (a 5 minute taxi ride away), also Conwy has its own station accessed by a fantastic Telford bridge across the Conwy estuary but this is a requested stop, and only a 5 minute walk from the hotel. Buses: Being a world heritage site Conwy is accessed regularly by all bus routes.
  • Parking: Hotel Parking
  • Parking Details: We have a car park to the front of the building of 10 spaces and a rear car park accessed by an archway through the hotel consisting of a further 30 spaces (due the historic nature of the town of Conwy and the castle hotel itself, the entrance way to the rear car park is quite narrow, very large cars/trucks are advised to use the front car park).

  • "we had a fantastic time at the castle hotel the food was fantastic and the service excellent. the fish dishes were fabulous and exceptional value. I would not hesitate to recommend the castle to visitors and local diners alike the staff were extremley helpful and service was great. we will certainly be back soon."

  • "went to this restaurant Saturday 15th March 2014 and it was a lovely meal, the room was fabulous, the staff very nice and friendly, everything was excellent ! would definitely go again,"

  • "Delicious food, good service and really nice atmosphere."

  • "Finding a lively bar & restaurant able to cater for fine dining tastes on a cold and windy Monday night in February was a pretty tall order, but Dawsons was a great choice for us. Service was enthusiastic (bordering on over-friendly, but that's being picky) and the food was all of good quality; we especially enjoyed the pickled vegetables and chef had no qualms when we asked for a side order "off menu". Scallops were excellent as a starter; less impressive when served in batter as posh fish & chips. Rest of the menu was varied and everything we had was good quality (burger, local crab meat, chicken terrine) and the wine & beer list suited all tastes for our mixed group. Would gladly go again to sample the rest of the menu."

  • "The food was absolutely brilliant; you couldn't call it cheap by any means, but if you're willing to spend a bit more for a special occasion, you won't mind. The Castle is really a lovely place to be, to be honest; the ambience is thoroughly enjoyable. The service started off brilliantly, but got worse throughout the night; eventhough the restaurant emptied, the waiters at some point decided to ignore our table unless we asked explicitly. Nothing majorly dramatic, though."

  • "The meal was lovely but spoilt by the noise from the bar area. There were a number of people talking very loudly not far from our table. This was our first visit and may try again when we next visit here."
    dined on 28/02/2014
  • "The food is good quality gourmet style but I have had just as good less pretentious stuff from some up and coming establishments. I got the impression I was paying for a brand. Also the small proportions left me still hungry: not good if you've spent £30 a head - that's without wine!"

  • "Booked for family Sunday Lunch. Table requested duly supplied. Service was swift but not hasty, nice breaks between courses as required. Crostini for two highly recommended. My wife had twice cooked pork, very well presented and equally delicious, I settled for traditional beef roast, WOW, best beef I have tasted for a long time, daughter had pulled pork which was consumed with gusto, Mum devoured pork dinner, all washed down with exceptional wines. The finishing touches were the deserts, Panna Cota's and Creme Brulee's were despatched with mutterings of approval. Staff are friendly and obliging, the atmosphere is relaxed and we will be booking again in the near future. Try the courtyard for pre or after dinner drinks -BLISS !"

  • "As always the Castle deliver excellent food. The menu gives you a good choice but not too silly with a limited choice of sweets but you won't be disapointed as the chef always seems to come up with the goods. Book the restaurant as the bar can be noisey on a weekend."

  • "We were 4 for dinner, and the menus (set price and a la carte) offered plenty of choice, with a fair number of veggie and gluten-free options. Dishes were well presented,in fine dining style, but not all up to a uniform standard of cooking: chef didn't get all the ideas quite right. We loved the use of local produce, especially sea food, but not sure if some items sare worth including: cockles (I think) had hardly any meat on them at all after cooking, but one still had to struggle with their shells. Mussels worked well, though - and are a local delicacy. The wine list was excellent: Muscadet de Sevre et Maine sur lie was first class, and chilled dessert wine (a red muscat!) was a revelation. Service was outstanding."

  • "Food was great, served nicely and really tasty. Waiters were a little impatient, but OK overall, The ambiance is just amazing, lovely walled town dominated by castle, old hotel building, stylish restaurant, but in the end it seemed to be a little expensive. Though as it is common nowadays, much advised to anyone looking for a special occasion romantic dinner."

  • "The main courses were excellent; however the deserts were not very good. Overall though we had a great time and the main meals were really worth it."

  • "We have eaten here many times though this was the first occasion since spring. We have found better places to eat in Conwy but were very impressed when we first started eating here 2 years ago. The menu reads well, the ingredients sound lovely and are usually locally sourced. I had the chargrilled organic pork chop on a bed of butter beans and chorizo. Sounds lovely, looked appetising. However the pork lacked flavour and I did not find the butter beans appetising. I know if I picked the mussels or posh fish and chips I would enjoy. Sometimes only red meat will suffice but I am usually let down by it here. Seems overpriced. Lovely ambience ."

  • "Lovely night. Food was fantastic, great service, value for money. Staff were very friendly. I asked the Hotel to organise some flowers for the table, they were beautiful. Will be returning"

  • "The standard of food and variety of menu is very good. The menu itself is very helpful because the various vegetarian and gluten free dishes(of which the majority are gluten free) are very clearly marked, which is very helpful for the fairly large number of people who have this type of problem. The ambiance of the dinning room is pleasant and interesting with original paintings on the walls."

  • "Once again I visited Dawsons with my wife and youngest daughter(11) this time to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The food as always was excellent with the unusual exception of the posh fish & chips which was slightly overcooked. We have dined here several times and I must admit that the service was slower and lacking at times, however, we were in no rush and spent all afternoon relaxing in the welcoming surroundings and enjoying a few pre diner drinks in the courtyard etc. The staff appeared to be depleated and with concerted efforts failed to supply the usual high level of service."

  • "helpful staff, nice decor. Room got rather warm as it was busy, also lager options were quite poor. Food was tasty and menu was very appealing. Price is about right for the whole experience, would definately recommend snd will be going back"

  • "We booked our table online. Upon arriving for our table we were immediately informed that my 4 month old niece was not allowed in the bar area, that we accepted, but then when I informed that we had a table booked in the restaurant, they said we would be unable to have the booking as children were only allowed in the restaurant in car seats or high chairs for health and safety reasons and she was in a buggy?! You should make visitors to the premises aware prior to booking by mentioning this on your webpage. Eventually, a high chair with cushions was offered for my niece to sit in. As we had travelled quite a distance to come to the restaurant we had no option but to try. It was far from ideal, but at least we got to eat that evening."
    dined on 31/08/2013
  • "I have been coming to Conwy area for over 50 years and this is the best restaurant I have found within 20 miles. Years ago we stopped coming in here with my parents (presumably under different ownership), but because I saw recent good reviews we thought we would give it a try whilst on holiday this time. We were not disappointed! The friendly, very helpful, staff made it into a special occasion for my wife and I. The food was superb; I tried the recommended haddock and chorizo risotto which was sensational, though large enough for a main course! If you order this, make sure you have a relatively light main, unless you have a larger than average appetite! Overall excellent; we are booking to go back with friends on Saturday!"
    dined on 20/08/2013
  • "Dirty cutlery to start Ordered bread to share; dry and from a supermarket Starters were good Lamb main was good, but the gravy was probably thickened with cornflower so ended up gloopy Double portion of starter vegetarian risotto for main: portion was enormous, presented with Parmesan crisps which are not vegetarian as Parmesan contains rennet. Risotto was good but strange - rice pudding like Chocolate fondant for dessert: no gooey-on-the-inside, closer to choc sponge Latte coffee to finish, served in a mug, no froth, more like milky instant coffee Waitresses were v pleasant and helpful, nice place Been here before to eat last year and it was v good Such a shame it didn't meet our expectations and was overpriced, we won't be returning soon"

  • "I cannot fault the staff! They really were attentive and seemed to really enjoy what they were doing! A credit to the hotel, I cannot fault the actual cooking as it was cooked to perfection. Beautiful place and ambience :)"

  • "Once again another faultless meal. Dined with my mother, wife and youngest daughter (11), all catered for admirably. Plenty of choice on the menu, cooked and presented with due diligence, try the steaks, they are divine. The service at Dawsons is second to none and we feel very much at home as we have had the pleasure to dine here on many occasions. Formal or informal, take your pick, the restaurant and bar area are great, equally the courtyard and pre dinning seating areas are a haven. My daughter has commented that if you get the chance try the smoked haddock & chorizo rissotto, she LOVES it! If you are in Conwy and want a treat then you won't be dissapointed."
    dined on 21/07/2013
  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our evening at Dawsons. The food was fresh and very well cooked. The staff were also very attentive and efficient. I found the menu limited in some areas - e.g. choice of chicken dishes etc."
    dined on 20/07/2013
  • "I was really impressed with meal I had, so was my partner. I had tried before to book a table but had no joy. We went mid week, booked it online, hours before we ate, no problem this time. The service was very good and it's very nice inside. A good choice on the menu and also on the bar. One thing about the bar, I ordered a pint of wheat beer and It was £6! It was a really good pint though."
    dined on 24/06/2013
  • "We visited you for the first time last Friday and it was a most fantastic experience . For the moment we arrived to leaving we were treated with a very good customer service, both in the reception, bars and the restaurant . The food was delicious ,served in a timely manner and all the meals cooked to perfection. We will not hesitate in visiting and recommending you to all our family and friends. John Greenaway"

  • "I'm writing this a few weeks after a long trip in the U.K., so while I don't remember exactly what we ate I do remember having a most enjoyable meal at Dawson's. The meal was very good, the service very helpful and pleasant, and my wife and I left feeling quite pleased with the evening. We would return."
    dined on 26/05/2013
  • "We all thoroughly enjoyed the evening. Excellent standard of food, served promptly, well presented and tasted great. Empty plates all round. Thank you."

  • "Another great meal at Dawsons. The food is always of high quality with plenty of choice in a lovely dining room. The service was good and we will be returning (our 4th time)"
    dined on 22/05/2013
  • "We booked Dawsons in Conwy in advance to celebrate my youngest daughters birthday and we were not disappointed. On arrival we relaxed in the lounge and enjoyed pre lunch drinks. We were given menus to view ordered some "nibbles" during our deliberations. The quality of the food is outstanding and worth the expense. At no stage did we feel rushed and having ordered our lunch we were given time between courses as requested. The staff are always polite and efficient and paid particular attention to my daughter due to her birthday, even decorating the table with confetti, and arriving with a cake complete with sparkling fountain all at no cost. I would recommend Dawsons every time for those wishing to indulge."
    dined on 12/05/2013
  • "Food delicious but service was slow, it was an hour from being seated to actually being served our meal, and whilst I realise that good food takes time to prepare and cook I felt that this was too long to wait especially as the restaurant was not overly busy. We ended up not staying for dessert because of the lateness of the afternoon which was a shame. Nice room, good food but allow plenty of time to digest and savour your menu choices."
    dined on 11/05/2013
  • "The dining experience was very good. High qulaity food and good service."

  • "When making a reservation online it would be appreciated when confirming that a note be made stating where your table is to be situated. I made my last reservation expecting/wanting to sit and eat in the Restaurant and not the bar area, if I had known I would have altered my time/date, I am unlikely to book online again."
