A word from Coya Restaurant
Coya Restaurant and Bar brings the spirit of Latin America to the heart of London. With a modern Peruvian restaurant at the centre of Coya’s culture, chefs will entertain as food is prepared in one of three open kitchens, the Ceviche Bar (raw bar), La Parrilla (open charcoal grill) and the Cocina Central (central kitchen). An extensive Pisco Bar specializing in bespoke pisco infusions, specialist tequilas and rum, sits adjacent to the main dining room, where the sights and sounds of Coya come together to fill the senses with the essence of Latin American culture.Continued

Diner Reviews
  • "Pros: - Truly yummy food - Something different and original in this area - Fun space Cons: - Expensive"

  • "It seems by the moment you seat at your table that you have to order, to eat fast, to pay and to leave the table asap as new customers are coming. I book Coya in advance every time and every time there is the same rush to leave by the moment I sit at the table ON TIME. This doesn't make the all experience relaxing."

  • "I have eaten in Coya twice before now. I booked with friends for 6pm. I was unfortunately a few minutes late but by the time I arrived my friends had almost been forced to order! Not quite with a gun at their heads but not far behind! There was no mention of the 2 hour window on booking or on reconfirming my reservation. The service was rushed and the wrong side of efficient i.e. rude. Restaurants who treat paying customers like this do not deserve their success. But Coya was packed with young things paying handsomely for their dates. My friends well have the means to eat in Coya every night if they so wish but I doing that they will after this experience. To be fair the manager did make amends and was courteous and helpful."

  • "We were pleased to spot a Peruvian restaurant in London - having really enjoyed Peruvian dishes in Miami last year. I have to say COYA more than lived up to expectations and all dishes were wonderfully tasty and some of the signature dishes eg Sea Bass iron pot dish and Spicy Beef dish were fantastic. Service was excellent and great surroundings. Cost of drinks/wine a bit on the pricy side but I guess that is to be expected with a Picadilly address to fund."

  • "Been various times to Coya and would recommend it for groups big and small. Great sharing food. The meal was good as usual, tuna ceviche, crab salad, pork ribs and the lamb chops deserve a special mention. The staff were helpful - and whilst two guests were late and they did inform us of the 2 hour turnaround time - it was done in a polite and helpful manor. Would certainly be going again. Stayed at the bar after for a few drinks - good cocktail menu and vibe."

  • "Coya really was fantastic, one sip of that first Pisco Sour and I was back in Miraflores, Lima Peru! What's so fantastic about Coya is that everyone thinks it's just going to be like any other South American Restaurant, but then are shocked by just how different the flavours are and how incredible! I'm with a Peruvian so am really familiar with the food, so think this really show cased it well. The only thing I would have liked to have seen was whether the fish they are using for the ceviche is sustainable, what you'd expect for a high-end restaurant but that's personal preference. One thing to note is that they are VERY strict on the time you have at your table, so don't be late! It's definitely a treat!"

  • "One of the best meals I've had in London. A bit expensive but amazingly good! Be sure to try the ribs and the corn sundae."

  • "Well I'm not very big. I weigh 55kilos and am average height. I left this place as hungry as when I went in. I had the set lunch menu Three courses. The food was really merger. The ceviche was non descript. The quinoa salad was tasty and potato dish was ok. The set lunch menu was 26 GBP two of us with only water and the bill was 82 pounds, they charged 20 pounds for water and you don't know that til you get the bill I had to beg for a waiters attention even though there wS only one other table occupied The ambience is beautiful though"

  • "One of the best restaurants in London. Great food, excellent service. Having said that the price seems just too much for what you get."
    dined on 08/02/2014
  • "Ambience and service were really outstanding but having been to Sushi Samba and Lima I felt there is room for improvement when it comes to the food. The food was not bad but it was not superb by no means."
    dined on 31/01/2014
  • "Great, memorable dishes. Very cool venue with excellent location. Waiter was very attentive. Only issue was that service seemed a bit too smooth and operational. Would go back."

  • "We enjoyed outstanding cuisine. Such refreshing, delicious and very different flavours. Lovely to be able to taste small portions of perfectly prepared food. Excellent service to go with it."

  • "This is the best Peruvian restaurant in London serving super fresh and intricate ceviche and other delicious raw and cooked fish."

  • "Great ambiance, pretty people, packed - but service was extremely slow and we felt forgotten at times."

  • "first time at Coya, for sure not the last everything was perfect since the first to last minute"
    dined on 11/01/2014
  • "As we sat down, we were promptly approached and given an explanation of the sharing contest, as well as given recommendations of everything that we should try. Our waiter was extremely knowledgeable and basically chose what we should have for us, which was great as it was our first time. The yellowtail tuna ceviche and tiraditos, the calamari in quinoa, the ox heart skewers, and the seabass (main) were absolutely incredible! As well as the dry potatoes with truffles! Very recommended."

  • "Interesting food but too expensive for what we had. With all the great restaurants in London, this would not be one that I would return to."
    dined on 01/11/2013
  • "Coya has such interesting and innovative food, it's a new "go-to" for business and friendly meals. There is a strict 2 hour time limit which is unfortunate as the staff will push start pushing you to finish. I find this a challenge, especially if you are with client and don't want to rush. Otherwise, I highly recommend this place."

  • "we had a great time, the service and the food was incredible!"

  • "we found a new whole take on food. japanese take but the fushion with south american spices was amazing. tasting menu was so much fun and so nice to be guided by a balanced, well throught through meal. the waiter, we had whom was italian, new all the dishes, how they were cooked, it was a journey into the unknown. I am a chef but the tastes were so new and fresh to me, i have since tried to source some of the spices but they seem to be quiet rare. very excirting fresh restuanant and great location. will deffo go back. loved it."

  • "I never had such an experience in my whole life . They were extremely rude. I won't recommend it to anyone ."

  • "Everything was fantastic and definitely the meal we appreciated the most during our stay in London. Thank you!"
    dined on 27/12/2013
  • "Went with a friend for dinner a la carte. Our favourites were the ox heart on a skewer + Solomillo de Res (beef main); the meat was so tender and we could still taste the flames on the ox heart. It was a great place with a cool vibe; service was very attentive, especially from the helpful sommelier. Whilst Coya beats Lima on ambiance, Lima beats Coya hands down foodwise if you want something different and special."
    dined on 19/12/2013
  • "The dinner in Coya was supposed to be a special one. A xmas celebration with my boyfriend. We have decided to go for the tasting menu. But when we ordered it we were told we could not order the tasting menu since we did not have enough time. The tasting menu would take longer to serve than our reservation slot. I found this quite absurd because we never asked or warned at booking this would be a problem. Also think it's absurd the slot of the reservation does not allow for you to chose what you want. if that's the case the slot should be longer. When I finally asked the manager the answer was poor: that's they way they do it there and they are the same group of Zuma, as if this explains the behaviour. So, not a satisfactory answer at all."
    dined on 15/12/2013
  • "We had an early reservation at 6pm on a Monday but the restaurant was soon buzzing. Cerviches of tuna and salmon were delicious, tiradito of yellowfin delicate, skewer of beef and chunk of pork belly succulent and smoky. Beautifully done patatas bravas and brocolli topped off the savory side washed down with pisco cocktails. Chocolate and mandarin ganache dessert was incredible. Total came to just under £130 with a beer and wine too. Expensive compared to your average meal but the food was way above average and atmosphere was great."

  • "Coya is set out nicely although the middle tables for 2 are not ideal the side ones with banquette are nice. Tables are close though. The service is over-bearing - there are literally 4 or 5 servers per table and tens floating around - it is a huge staff with managers looking very serious and walking around seemingly doing little. the food is expensive but very tasty and clean flavours - worth a visit wrighty"

  • "friendly staff, amazing food, good service - polite. a bit expensive but worth i"

  • "Managed to get a 6pm booking we were the first to arrive. Nice bar & restaurant space. Service was polite but felt as if we were being rushed to order due to the 2 hour turnaround. I find it irritating when restaurants do this & then charge a whopping service charge after. The vanilla Pisco sours were excellent. The cinnamon & orange not so good. All the food we had was tasty & well presented. Loved the Chilean sea bass. Not so much the tiger prawns my friend ordered that looked like a tempura but batter was not crispy. The ceviches & tiraditos were awesome. Salted caramel ganache for dessert was good too. Restaurant soon filled up clientele were a mixed bag of tourists & Arabs. Had a few drinks at the bar after. Overall good."

  • "Went to coya as a group if 9 people - was a little dissapointed we couldnt increase the table to ten without going for a set menu - but i understand its the policy in many restaurants. Food was good as always - the ceviche is great and i would recommend the crab salad (first time id had this option and certainly ordering it again!). Lamb chops never dissapoint for the main and the duck was extreamly well cooked and succulent. The staff were helpful as always, particularly the somilier. Looking forward to going again."
    dined on 03/11/2013
  • "excellent! but too many staff who wants to fill you water glass every 5 minutes!! and too many managers who are 'hanging' about. not necessary (for us). we don't want to be rushed or be attended on every 5 min but maybe some guests like that. Food amazing..lots of bolt flavours, the quinoa salad and palm heart salad are the best and a very big portion for the price!"
    dined on 28/10/2013
  • "The food was outstanding. I have never tasted some of the things the (very knowledgable) waiters suggested but loved every one of them. The sommelier knew his stuff too and we had a fantastic wine. The service was seamless and the whole experience was unforgettable. We were extremely impressed with the front of house staff as well as the chef and kitchen staff. We have eaten all over the world and in many Michelin starred restaurants but I can honestly say Coya is now my favourite. We will be back!"
    dined on 26/10/2013
  • "Finally went to see what the hype is all about. Yes - the interior is beautiful and the food is of high quality and unusual. Particularly liked the original potatoes with truffle in a clay pot. Service was a bit overattentitive not to say pushy and the prices are extortionate, especially for the wine and teas. Struggling to really fault the place though, but not sure I'd rush back. seen it, been there, done it, this was enough."
    dined on 22/10/2013
  • "Some of the best food in London. Great for groups and couples and best done sharing. Not one dish can be distinguished as all tasty. The ceviche is excellent. My second time and I'll be back many times. It's up there with Roka, another favourite of mine."
    dined on 21/10/2013
  • "Love Coya! Outstanding food, service and atmosphere."
    dined on 12/10/2013
  • "Coya is, in short, AMAZING! It has the best of everything - the waiter was exceptionally helpful and made masterful recommendations. The decor was cozy as well as opulent and works for both couples and groups. The restaurant filled up from around 1830 hours and was packed. The food was fresh, and powerfully delicious. It was the perfect fit for my husband and myself - phenomenal ceviche and delicious steak / ribs - unusual to find both under one roof. Go if you can get a table and keep going as often as their diary / your budget allows!!"
    dined on 01/10/2013
  • "We had a wonderful meal, with an especially attentive and helpful server. The decor is spectacular, and is definitely a special occasion venue."

  • "Peruvian cuisine seems to be the new coming thing in London so my wife and I thought we would give it a go and selected Coya for its location - handy for Green Park tube. The restaurant is not that easy to find, look for the street number, and it is down in the basement, but pleasant meet and greet lady and perfectly acceptable décor though not particularly south American. Our waiter was helpful on how the menu worked, sort of tapas - pick any four items, starters and main (or sweet if you preferred) - and best to share plates. The flavours were excellent, particularly the ceviche. Good food, pleasant waiters and a set lunch price including a glass of wine and a coffee, what more can you want?"
    dined on 24/09/2013
  • "This is the third visit to Coya. The food was outstanding as it had been on the other occasions. As it was lunch, we had chosen to stick with a 'Tapas' like selection each choosing four savoury dishes and one dessert dish. There were several memorable dishes-- The Cornish crab with prawn and corn was beautiful and the Sea Bass with chilli and lime was amazing. The hot dishes were just as good. Every dish we had was a delight on the palate. The service this time was disappointingly slow."
    dined on 21/09/2013
  • "excellent service, nice atmosphere, best ever dessert :corn ice cream with caramelised popcorn and fresh slices of pineapple. unforgetable food , well presented and served, piece of art. perfection"
    dined on 15/09/2013
  • "Had read good reviews and Coya did not disappoint. Staff were very attentive and maybe too much so at times but we're willing to answer any questions and make recommendations. We had scallop ceviche which still makes my mouth water just thinking of it. The tiger prawn main was a little tough but the steak was phenomenal. An extensive food and drink menu and we will certainly be revisiting Coya."
