We were greeted by the friendly and helpful proprietor, who talked us through the extensive menu and wine list - prices were as you would expect for the area, so the 50% TT offer was brilliant. We both had cous cous based mains, which were served with meat sides (one chicken kebabs, one merguez sausage) and vegetable broth - portions were huge and tasty, although the cous cous would have benefitted from some additional flavours. Would have stayed for dessert, but a family with screaming children came in and destroyed the convivial ambience - somewhat unexpected at 2130 at night. I'm vegetarian & felt very satisfied by what I was given it was very tasty & not something I would ever take the effort to make myself. There was no sign of egg or dairy but I can't tell you for certain it was vegan. My friend had a lamb tagine & very much enjoyed her meal too. The friendly staff recommended a Moroccan white wine which was rather good as well as being relatively inexpensive.

The authentic Morrocan dishes are tasty and the helpings substantial. My partner had the Chicken Brochette cous cous while I had the tagine Djaje Ba Zitoun (Olives and lemon sauce). Both were very good. Don't bother with a starter unless you have a gigantic appetite, we didn't have room for a dessert either. We did however have the pot of mint tea to aid digestion (which jacked up the final bill substantially) but we still left the restaurant having spent less than £14 pp. Oh, and the traditional morrocan dancer was very pretty and lithe but some might view her performance as unnecessarily 'touristy'. Service was fantastic - without being stuffy and pretentious (quite laid back). Didn't start out that great, as we were met with arms waving explaining that the place was fully booked (and we may need to sit in the front - where people wait for take-away orders). But when we mentioned that we booked through TT, we did wait and have a drink at that table, but that was while they prepared another table. The staff were just very engaging and made the experience quite enjoyable. They knew their Moroccan food and culture - and were happy to talk about it. Came out to be a bit on the expensive side, but that's probably because we over-ordered on food and drinks. This was no problem and the hostess iimediately confirmed that the TT 50% offer would be honoured. The restaurant presents a nice facsimile of a Moroccan interior.
The menu offered an interesting range of N African specialities and we opted for briouats (stuffed pastries for starters) followed by tagines. The food was excellent as was the service throughout. With the TT offer, the value was really excellent, otherwise the prices are typical for the S Ken. location.
