The restaurant itself has a very good ambience and is clearly privately owned, by someone who really knows what they are doing.
The Won Tun soup was truly exceptional and the Tiger Prawn Tempura is a must, superb quality cooked just right. The reason I have given it a 5 star rating, is along the Hardens food guide principle. Food Ambience Service in similar priced restaurants. No question looking forward to going back. I had booked the £25 deal, but we chose to go al a carte when we got there, this was no trouble for them. This was my second visit, I had come with my husband previously and had a great experience then. The food was really delicious, the options were good, we had one vegetarian with us. We chose dim sum to start; grilled chicken salad & lamb cutlets for mains and Mochi Mochi and salty caramel mousse for puddings. All the food was delicious and beautifully presented. Service was friendly and efficient. I often order sashimi, and the fish is excellent quality, for a very moderate price (and with the 50% offer, it's really exceptional value for money).
The service is also good: it was a bit slow, but more than compensated for by friendliness of staff.

Enjoy.11/06/2012 00:00:00Another great mealCocochan on James Street is fast becomming one of my favourite restaurants. The menu is extensive and there is little on there I would not eat. We chose a variety of dim sum to start, the prawn toast was particularly delicious but everything else was equally fantastic. The only down side is that they have adjusted the menu and taken off my favourite - the Vietnamese Beef Salad. We tried the calamari salad instead and I am sad to say it was not nearly as good.
After a rather long break we decided to sample some of the wonderful main courses - the crisps noodles are a must - along with thai green curry & rice. We were not disappointed. My only regret is that we were too full to finish the meal.
