Chor BizarreIndian food at its bestWe were recommended this restaurant a couple of years ago when staying in Mayfair by the concierge as it was my husbands birthday and we wanted somewhere special to eat, it was a totally unique dinning experience. We were staying in London for a few days to celebrate my husbands birthday again and thought we would book again this year it did not let us down. We had a lovely evening the staff were brilliant very helpful, and the food fantastic, it is like being in an Indian bazaar, there is so much to see when dinning with all the knick knacks around the room.19/05/2013 00:00:00Top Table Top IndianImmediately we arrived at the restaurant we new we were in for a special meal. The ambiance of the whole place was so different, very romantic but at the same time vibrant with as much service from the staff as we wanted or as little when we wanted a quiet chat.
Not sure what to order as the menu does not contain the usual fare of Vinaloo's and Kormas we both chose the taster menu, five small dishes all served together with rice and naans. I did ask for the chicken dish to be spiced up a little and it probably could have been turned up a notch & again the waiter was more than obliging.
All the dishes were delicious as was the wine. The location probably has quite a lot to do with the prices on the menu though as it is fairly expensive without a special offer to take some of the sting out of the prices. The food is consistently very good and the service attentive. For Indian food, I rate it as one of the best out there and a place where friends visiting from overseas always seem to want to visit. The 30% discount currently being offered on the food also made the lunch very good value for Mayfair.

Generally, the food is fantastic and this time the tikka paneer and asparagus, corn and brocolli mix were especially tasty. However, a note on the level of spice... the menu rated the aloo methi gobi as slighty spicy, but I bit into 3 green chillis one after the other which was actually really unpleasant because I actually couldn't taste the rest of my meal.
