The tasting menu was most enjoyable and in particular the shellfish and fish dishes which were cooked to perfection. It was apparent that the base ingredients, used for each dish, were of a very high quality. The use of spices was very well controlled and balanced and thus they did not overwhelm but in fact tended to enhance the natural flavours of the ingredients. We both ordered the steak that comes served on a bed of hot rocks. It is without doubt the best steak we have both eaten EVER! It has to be experienced in person. I don't think that steak will ever be topped anywhere. So amazing we took photos of the presentation. The Park Plaza Riverbank is a posh, sumptuous hotel. If the rooms and service is as good as our experience in the restaurant then bring your friends.
Our waiter was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, assisting us at every opportunity. The staff here made the evening very special. We now know the menu quite well and tend to always order the same dishes. We definitely recommend the sirloin on hot rocks with the French beans as a side. Pecking duck and fired squid are also very good. The waiters are really firnedly without being intrusive and the ambience is pleasant and relaxed. Good value with the 25% offer. Although all dishes ordered from the inventive and extensive menu were terrific, a special mention must go to the Japanese-style medley of mushrooms - absolutely superb. The service was really friendly and warm - we were unable to stay for pudding and were touched to received a little chocolate gift to take away to mark our anniversary. Although Chino Latino is not a cheap night out, we felt that we got really good value with the 25% off deal. The food is really quite different from the norm and it's worth paying a little more.
