We hadn't realised this; it was just a birthday/anniversary celebration for us. We were made aware though prior to arriving, and given the chance to rebook on another evening if we wished. Why would we, with 5 courses and an aperitif for £24.90? Anyway, we rolled up at 7pm, and really enjoyed every course - good range of choices for each one. Our only problem was the amount of food in the main course (I chose cassoulet, my husband monkfish). Being greedy oicks, we ate most of it, but would have preferred a little of everything for all the courses. It was an excellent experience. The food was so tasty and certainly left me wanting to go again. Staff were friendly but not in your face. The service is very good and the price fixe menu of two courses before 7pm for £11 is very good value as there is plenty of choice. The food is very fresh, my husband had the moules starter and I had the pear and cheese salad and it was beautifully presented and the flavour combinations were lovely. We both had the chicken main which is cooked on the bone and is very moist and tasty, the wine sauce was unusual but really complimented the dish. All in all a very nice restaurant for a couple to go to as it is candlelit, romantic, good value, if you dine out a lot like us and with a nice buzz of conversation in the dining room. Food was amazing, served quickly and to how we asked, waiting staff were polite and friendly and made sure our night was good. Most tables had tablecloths but our did not -small but important point.
We have been a number of times ourselves and standard of service/food has always been excellent.
Couple of small points - Soup should have been a little hotter and veg needed a little more attention.
