Chez BruceAlways faultless service andAlways faultless service and food which makes dining here a regular event.16/05/2013 00:00:00Excelent value for top notch fareBest dining experience on my trip to London. Service was superb. The food was stunning, menu well thought out, and executed beautifully. The cheese board is a must have.15/05/2013 00:00:00Just beautiful! We hadn't been to Chez Bruce for while and thought a Sunday night might be a bit quiet. But no, it was as fab as ever!
Fantastic atmosphere, brilliant service and of course the food is just divine, with all the extra little touches that makes Chez Bruce so special.12/05/2013 00:00:00Always an excellent meal atAlways an excellent meal at Chez Bruce. Quality ingredients, great choices and excellent service. We will be back soon!11/05/2013 00:00:00Fab foodWe had a lovely meal with friends. The food was excellent and the service superb.04/05/2013 00:00:00ExcellentThis was our first visit to Chez Bruce and I must say it was exceptional!
Great for a special occasion.
I'm not a dessert person so the option of two courses rather than having to have three would be great but all in all it was great!03/05/2013 00:00:00Excellent MealWe've been to Chez Bruce several times and never regretted the decision or been disappointed. Fabulous food, excellent, friendly, attentive but not pushy service and an interesting wine list managed by a knowledgeable, friendly sommelier – what more could you ask for?01/05/2013 00:00:00Celebration Meal at Chez BruceHad yet another outstanding meal in Chez Bruce on Wednesday evening. We had been given a voucher as a wedding present so were able to splash out guilt free! We started with a glass of champagne before moving onto the 3 course dinner menu, which at £45 is great value. Starter of sweetbreads and ox tongue went down a treat with my husband, and foie gras and duck with brioche was equally as good a starter for me. Mains were outstanding, especially the courgette flower stuffed with crab and scallop. We finished off with two beautiful desserts and some excellent coffee. The somellier as usual in Chez Bruce, recommend an excellent wine, in this case a wine from the US, which we wouldnt' have chosen ourselves. Will be back.01/05/2013 00:00:00Smart in appearance. CustomerSmart in appearance. Customer focused. Good quality food. Wine waiter knew their wine.28/04/2013 00:00:00Still great.I had not been back since New Year's and was surprised how easy it was to get a reservation on a Sunday evening. The entrees were excellent as usual. They had a special that night charging only £5.00 for corkage when one brought their own bottle of wine. I would dine here more often if they kept this up!28/04/2013 00:00:00excellent food and wine. greatexcellent food and wine. great service, had a brillant time.27/04/2013 00:00:00A busy Friday evening butA busy Friday evening but excellent service along with the lovely, tasty, different food. We will be returning.26/04/2013 00:00:00G'day, Bruce! While Chez Bruce is not a cheap option (at £45 for 3 courses) the quality of the food, the service and the overall experience are unbeatable. Every course uses perfectly balanced ingredients to create food that is just phenomenal. The staff are courteous and efficient without being over-the-top, and despite the quality of the food the experience never feels overly formal - the dining room is loud and buzzy (although some of the tables are a little too packed in!). Although there's usually only one or two vegetarian starters (one on the evening we went) and one veggie main, the food is so good that this isn't a problem. Top tip - upgrade to the cheese board...26/04/2013 00:00:00Fabulous food, impeccable serviceChez Bruce was outstanding - the food was wonderful, and a lot of choice from the set menu (6/7 choices per course with a lot of variety). The staff were friendly, professional and helpful but without being over the top and in your face like they can be at high end restaurants. The ambience was very good and overally a great dining experience. Only small point is that some of the 2 seater tables are quite close together.24/04/2013 00:00:00Exceptionally high qualityExceptionally high quality food with complex, beautifully balanced flavours - I enjoyed and savoured every mouthful. My main was an excellent vegetarian option which was easily as good as the meatier options other people chose. The weekday lunch price for food of this level is very reasonable, I will be back.23/04/2013 00:00:00Worth breaking my budget for!A great restaurant with excellent food and fantastic service. Perfect for that special occasion.22/04/2013 00:00:00We had another fantastic dinnerWe had another fantastic dinner at Chez Bruce. There were too many amazing options on the menu to consider which is always a predicament! The service was lovely & we enjoyed a nice romantic meal. I can not recommend Chez Bruce more highly as an outstanding value for money but most wonderful place to eat.21/04/2013 00:00:00Absolutely fantasticFrom the bread to the outstanding cheese board, everything we ate at Chez Bruce was absolutely delicious. The atmosphere is simple and unpretentious and the staff are friendly and helpful. It's also great value for money!20/04/2013 00:00:00consistently goodthe good thing is that the menu changes every day so you are not limited to the old faithfuls19/04/2013 00:00:00Very good experienceExcellent cooking - first class service - wide choice on menu - wine list too big and expensive but good19/04/2013 00:00:00Birthday Dinner at Chez BruceWe booked our table with ease through Top Table. The staff were extremely welcoming, efficient, knowledgeable and made our overall experience worth every penny. The food was exquisitely mouth watering delicious. I cannot recommend Chez Bruce highly enough. You have not dined until you have eaten here.19/04/2013 00:00:00An Old FavouriteWe had not been here for a while, so were surprised to find the restaurant enlarged. However, it was as good as ever. The cheeseboard at the end was particularly noteworthy with both familiar and unfamiliar cheeses on offer - a great selection.19/04/2013 00:00:00Good food but minimal veggie optionWe had a lovely meal here, but I was disappointed that there was only one vegetarian option for dinner and that was pasta! I usually rate restaurants by whether they go beyond pasta or risotto (the 2 standbys for vegetarians) in their selection. My meal was nice, but I would have liked more of a choice for both appetizer and main course.15/04/2013 00:00:00Simple,but effective!I've now eaten at Chez Bruce 6times,and although the food has'nt evolved in years,it is consistently superb.simple compared to some michelin starred restaurants, but as a chef,i appreciate the unpretentious nature of Bruce's food.He knows how to cook 'real' food, uncluttered by unhelpful foams etc.highly recommended!15/04/2013 00:00:00I have been to Chez BruceI have been to Chez Bruce many times and they have never let me down in anyway ever. The quality of food is absolutely amazing and with such an extensive wine list one is spoilt for choice.
At £45 per head it is the best thing to have happened in Wandworth!13/04/2013 00:00:00A real gemAs always Chez Bruce delivered faultlessly for a birthday lunch - fantastic food at great, great value prices.12/04/2013 00:00:00This restaurant, as peopleThis restaurant, as people will know, is excellent value. Staff are exceptionally helpful and friendly and overall a splendid experience.10/04/2013 00:00:00Excellent for a treatThis restaurant offers Michelin star food at affordable prices. The menu has a great choice and it never disappoints. I would highly recommend this lovely restaurant to anyone07/04/2013 00:00:00Excellent night out, the foodExcellent night out, the food was delightful with top notch service. The downstairs dinning room was really busy for a 9.45pm sitting and had a great buzz. We'll definitely book in again soon.06/04/2013 00:00:00Always a pleasureI have eaten here several times and always enjoy the food. Highly recommend.06/04/2013 00:00:00As good as it gets£27.50 lunch offers superb value. Rare restaurant where you would happily chose anything off the menu. Great service, decent portions. Amazing cheese board.05/04/2013 00:00:00amazing fodlived up to it's reputation - we adored it! the coronation quail dish was so good i keep dreaming of it!04/04/2013 00:00:00OutstandingI've eaten at Chez Bruce several times and it has always been excellent, but on this occasion it was even better than we were expecting. A very exciting and inventive menu to cover all tastes - well worth a visit.04/04/2013 00:00:00Consistently wonderfulWe have been visitors to Chez Bruce for many years, and have never had anything other than a great experience there. Last week we were celebrating, and it was definitely the right choice. Service was immaculate - friendly and professional, with someone always there when needed but not over-attentive. The food was delicious and beautifully presented, with something for everyone on the menu - some dishes more creative than others. The wine list is extensive and the sommeliers made appropriate recommendations which we were pleased we had followed. An excellent meal overall, and a great evening in a buzzy atmosphere.04/04/2013 00:00:00Never fails to impressNever been to Chez Bruce and left disappointed...food is always well executed, menu frequently refreshed and with ample choices. Lunch is a great value as menu very similar to dinner menu but at GBP27.50, for the quality of food and service, it is a steal. Our first option whenever we find an excuse to go out for fine dining or celebrate an occasion04/04/2013 00:00:00it had been a long time....We hadn't been to Chez Bruce for a number of years, probably since Trinity opened. It was good to go back and the evening was very enjoyable. It makes a difference being seated in the main dining room and there was a good atmosphere on the evening we went. The food was excellent and my only criticism would be the inexperienced waiting staff who seemed nervous at times. The wine recommendation was also good and there is a wide price range to choose from. Probably won't wait so long to go back, thanks for an enjoyable evening.02/04/2013 00:00:00Delicious food and wonderful servicWe absolutely love this restaurant - our second time dining here and it was just as fantastic as the first! The food is delicious; it is fancy and foodie-friendly but not ridiculous. There is an interesting vegetarian dish on offer for each course as well. The service is great; very friendly and attentive. The location might be a bit out of the way for some but this food would be at least double the price in central London and the area is lovely, so it is well worth the trek.
The parmesean crackers offered at the beginning are amazing (you could almost eat them as your meal...!).01/04/2013 00:00:00Every mouthful was delicious! From start to finish, this meal was perfect! We went for the three course lunch for £35. To start they bring you freshly baked parmesan biscuits, along with a selection of breads. We picked our starters and main courses and the sommelier was very knowledgeable and helpful in suggesting a wine that would go nicely with our food, and it did. I had the razor clams and scallops for starter, followed by a roast chicken main course, which I think is probably the best chicken I have ever eaten! We finished off with dessert, I had passion fruit meringue pie, beautifully presented, perfect portion size and again delicious. The staff were also very friendly and welcoming. Could not fault a single thing about this restaurant!01/04/2013 00:00:00Food was absolutely amazing.Food was absolutely amazing. Will definitely be going again.01/04/2013 00:00:00Outstanding lunch at Chez BruceWe had a wonderful Easter Sunday lunch - as ever, the food was amazing and service outstanding. This is our favourite restaurant and it never disappoints. At £35 for a 3 course lunch it is also really good value for such high standard food.31/03/2013 00:00:00A very special placeMy husband and I went to Chez Bruce to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. I am so glad that I picked it, and my husband was delighted with the choice.
The service is wonderful. They are very knowledgable on the menu and the wine list. The food was wonderful. The portion sizes were just right.
I also found it very good value, for the standard they achieve.30/03/2013 00:00:00Always good.Had a fantastic dinner there again. Was there a few year's back.. Won't make the mistake of waiting so long to return again.30/03/2013 00:00:00Never fails to deliverThis was my third time at Chez Bruce and it continues to provide exquisite food at comparatively great value. Can not fault. Many thanks.30/03/2013 00:00:00Justifiable reputationWe had not been here for a couple of years and it was good to see that it had maintained its high standards. This is far and away the best of the three Bruce Poole restaurants.29/03/2013 00:00:00Fabulous food, service and valueAbsolutely loved the entire experience. It lived up to its reputation.29/03/2013 00:00:00Outstanding Food for Great ValueWe always wanted to check out our local Chez Bruce, so we booked the table when we had a special visitor. Unfortunately they could only accommodate us upstairs so the buzz was lacking, and the draft was quite strong so it was impossible for us to relax on the freezing night.
Other than that, the food was excellent and each course comes in generous potion. I was lucky enough to be able to share fabulous Cote De Boeuf with my partner, and our guest enjoyed Steamed Sea Bream with lovely Thai flavours.
The service is very casual and relaxed for a Michelin restaurant, but with £45 for 3 courses, I think it's one of the most reasonable Michelin starred restaurants in London. It'll definitely become our favourite local joint from now on.29/03/2013 00:00:00Good, interesting foodGood food that one would not do at home, well presented with good service28/03/2013 00:00:00PerfectI had to literally run to the restaurant as I'd left work late. I looked a mess and felt very out of place as it is such a beautiful space. I mentioned to the waiter my regret at not having time to change after work and he immediately made me feel at ease. The staff were all so pleasant, welcoming and patient.
Also, I'm gluten free and I was attended to exactly as my non-gf guest. When she got bread, I got gf bread. I had a gf menu and the waiter was very honest about the best choices on the menu. I couldn't be more impressed.27/03/2013 00:00:00Lovely Sunday TreatI went at Sunday Lunch time for a special occasion. It was excellent. Service was attentive and knowledgeable. The only slight issue was we would rather have been downstairs as the atmosphere in the upstairs dinning room was a little too quite when we first arrived. Both starter and mains were excellent as was the dessert my other half had. However, the star of the show was the cheese board selection which was outstanding. First time I'd been to a "starred" restaurant and it did live up to all the hype. Also 3 courses for £35 was really good value (tip;pay the +£5.00 extra for the cheese board it very much worth it)24/03/2013 00:00:00Excellent foodWe have eaten at Chez Bruce on a few occasions, and it never fails to disappoint. The quality of the food was fantastic and the wine selection vast. Would definitely recommend23/03/2013 00:00:00
