We were placed at a table for 4 instead of 2 which was not ideal. Originally we were placed at the table by the door which was very, very cold. However, the staff were very accomodating when we asked to move and the whole meal was a real treat.

Neither of us has ever visited the restaurant previously but were both very pleased with the choice of menu options, the quality of the food and the level of service. This is a truly delightful Italian with elegant Venetian touches and a hint of nostalgia and tradition - which you can see in the customers as well as the decor and staff. It is bustling if not a trifle busy during the daytime but calmer after 6pm or so. We had to wait a few minutes to be seated and the table was in the middle, we would have preferred a quieter table.
However, it got better. The service was good, the food excellent. I had 3 enormous lamb cutlets with sauteed artichokes and mash, my wife had pappardelle, wild boar & porcini ragu which we thoroughly enjoyed. Desserts were excellent and good value.
By about 16:00 the restaurant had started to empty out and the lighting was dimmed. That's when we really started to enjoy our afternoon out.
We would go again but at a quieter time of day.
