A word from Casa Brindisa
Casa Brindisa is a stylish Spanish tapas restaurant that brings a little taste of Spain to the museum-lined streets of South Kensington. Light and airy, but also with a terrace on the newly pedestrianised Exhibition Road where diners can watch the world go by, Casa Brindisa is the ideal spot for after work drinks, family suppers, business dates and romantic meals. The restaurant's menu includes traditional tapas dishes and specialities inspired by cuisine of Catalonia, the home of head chef Leo Rivera.Continued

Diner Reviews
  • "Wonderful Spanish food to be enjoyed at a relaxed pace. A good wine selection that should encourage you to hog your table as long as possible and savour your meal in the true Mediterranean style. "

  • "Went pre the Royal Albert Hall, have been once before and sat outside, enjoyed that much more than sitting inside. Food is nice (but to be honest I prefer Bar estillo, that that isn't real tapas!), but there is no portion size guidelines, some dishes are huge, others are tiny, it is hard to gauge. Had an issue, which they sorted very quickly and professionally "

  • "Food is good, you have a good variety of meals and tapas..... Venue is not bad, South kensington is pretty good and you can eat outside if you like."

  • "Handled our group of 15 very well. We made it very complicated for the staff by having slightly different budget ranges, but they were extremely helpful and the food came out at the right speed, and the bill was handled very well! Really good fun, good selection of tapas and came to about £26 a head exc. dessert and coffee but with a couple glasses of house wine each. If a big group, definitely worthwhile asking for advice on pre-ordering as it was difficult to get everyone to decide there and then. Otherwise a really fun evening and staff were delightful."

  • "Had a lunch time booking and were seated inside near the open kitchen which provided great theatre along with the food. The place was packed but service was still swift and efficient. We had a selection of tapas - all very tasty - and some delicious puddings. Definitely will go again"

  • "food was brilliant - especially the air-dried tuna - as was the service only drawback was the exorbitant pricing for most of the wine, just like the majority of any retail food outlet really. good buzzy atmosphere, and gald we booked in advance."

  • "Eaten in the other Brindisa restaurants and always had a good experience. However South Ken was poor. Food quality not even average quality for London tapas. Will avoid in future. Shame"

  • "We've been planning to go to Casa Brindisa for quite a while now, but were always out of luck when trying to get a table on walk-in. This time we booked in advance and had a nice table right by the window. Tapas sounded all really good so it was hard to make a selection. We ended up trying about 6 different items from the menu, plus dessert. Favorite pick was probably the seared tuna with pear, chicken and ham croquettes in close second. Good service made this an overall very good dinner experience, definitely coming back."

  • "It may sound like a statement of the obvious but CASA BRINDISA is what you want from a Spanish Tapas restaurant. Great buzz, casual dining, good food and wine, slick and friendly service."

  • "everything you want tapas to be. fast. good service. tasty servings.wide ranging menu."

  • "Great experience with both food and service excellent on the evening. Not as cheap as first appears but still value for money. Lively venue so not one for a quiet meal"

  • "A few years and countless visits on, I've never left Casa Brindisa anything other than wowed by the food. It was originally the wide range of Iberico de Bellota on the menu offerings which lured me, but then I was drawn by everything from staples like tortilla and mojama to star dishes like the baked salted cod (chunky flakes of pearly goodness, perfectly executed) and the Iberico prezo (grilled slices of rare Iberico fillet, which I hope will never leave the menu). The restaurant is always heaving and the ambience buzzing with lively conversation. A particular mention goes to the front of house staff who keep up friendly service, and to the kitchen staff for their consistently faultless execution."

  • "Great ambience, food wasn't bad. Felt very rushed, as though they wanted the table. Staff a little too hovering. Much prefer the Salt Yard"

  • "Ate here following ice skating at the Natural History Museum and the atmosphere, food and wine warmed us up perfectly. Really unique and mouth-watering tapas, and fantastic wine to go with it. Very friendly and quick service also despite the restaurant being packed."

  • "love Casa Brindisa in South Ken. Often pop in for casual business meetings. Went with friends on Sunday afternoon and didn't disappoint. Probably the best Tapas I have had - great ingredients well prepared and presented. Great list of sherries too!"

  • "This is my favourite tapas restaurant ... love the tapas here and atmosphere is always great!! Highly recommended!!"

  • "I've been to the CB in Borough Market so was keen to try this.. unfortunately it was not the same, we'd booked a table but had to wait a while for our table... I found it all really stressful. The service was nowhere near good enough. We had a young girl waiting on us towards the end, she was excellent, but until she came to us the two guys and the woman in charge were very sloppy - leaving us waiting for 10 mins without water or a menu, forgetting dishes we ordered then proceeding to tell each other in front of us that we hadn't ordered them... not great. The couple next to us were seated after us yet got their food before we'd been given a wine menu. The fish platter and cheese was good but I will stick to Borough next time..."

  • "My preferred location for tapas in south west London. Have eaten there twice in the past two weeks. Excellent meat, vegetable, and fish dishes building on their success as a Spanish grocer in the borough market."
    dined on 08/03/2014
  • "Second time in there, service is reLly good and the food is very tasty. Even if it seems that it could be a cheap night out - but you just keep picking more tapas and spend more money than initially expected."
    dined on 06/03/2014
  • "Go to their restaurant in Borough Market. That's the good one."

  • "Lovely food and friendly service.. The service was quick and the food quite tasty.."

  • "I had been looking forward to this and booked a table for 4 people post the opera at the Albert Hall. We arrived and received a friendly greeting, sat down at a nice table and generally everything was proceeding very well; everyone liked the food and wine and it was proving to be a hit. Then a table of 5 behind us cleared and the staff allowed a group of about 12 men to take chairs from others tables and squeeze around it most of whom seemed to want to bang and squash my seat and generally put pressure on us to leave. They ignored my request to watch what they were doing and generally acted like they owned the place (perhaps they did). Spoiled an otherwise nice dinner."

  • "Food good but service poor. The menu was confusing. When asked to explain the menu you got a more confused reply. Was very disappointed by the whole experience.Would not go back."
    dined on 01/03/2014
  • "The food at Casa Brindisa was very good, but it is very much overpriced and you do not get much food for your money. As it is close to the museums, it is a particularly touristy area and therefore I guess the price reflects this."
    dined on 28/02/2014
  • "The quality of full decreased since the last time I came. I use to come quite often. The prices are very high and in most foods do not match the expected quality. For example, the iberic specialty to share (£21) has literary 4-5 tiny slices of good ham surrounded by very ordinary chorizo and peperoni that you can find even in Tesco stores"
    dined on 27/02/2014
  • "We lunched on a very busy Saturday, the whole place was packed with a great atmosphere. We had a number of small plates which we shared. It all worked very well and the food was very good."
    dined on 21/09/2013
  • "I've been to Tapas Brindisa and Casa Brindisa and they are both really good. However, Casa's food was colder this time compared to last time when I ordered and ate outside the previous time. Good seasonal food and they excel in seafood."
    dined on 26/02/2014
  • "The food at Casa Brindisa has a lightness and definition of flavour that puts many taps houses in the shade. Think of a piquant Manzanilla - the small plates show an equal piquancy and refinement. The ham and chicken croquettes are crisp outside, melting within. The large prawns sizzle! Sweet potato salad goes well with both."
    dined on 26/02/2014
  • "We just love it!, I have tried other Spanish tapas bar in London, but Brindisa it is a proper traditional one, with real Spanish flavours. I will be coming back for more and more!!"
    dined on 23/02/2014
  • "staff here were very friendly and efficient when we arrived (group of 8) from a show at the Royal Albert Hall. we ordered tapas for the table and they kept coming out hot and delicious. great atmosphere and no fuss. also really short walk from RAH. will be back in future i'm sure."
    dined on 21/02/2014
  • "My dining companion and I shared the following tapas: gambas al ajillo, beetroot salad with blue cheese and walnut vinagreta, tortilla de chorizo, and croquetas de jamon y pollo, all of which were deliciously tasty and satifying. We had a bottle of house white, too, which was most agreeable. For pudding, we each had a decently-sized slice of Galician tarta de Santiago (made with ground almonds), which was served with vanilla ice cream and which was wonderful. Have a look at the menu online; it contains an English translation."
    dined on 20/02/2014
  • "The Brindisa chain has established a reputation for the best tapas in UK, but I was not familiar with this South Kensington branch; it is as good as the others I have visited. Although packed with the customary Friday night youthful bunch, the acoustics were tolerable, and conversation was possible - a real plus in London's world of restaurants. There are places where more adventurous tapas can be found, but poor acoustics make the experience painful for this veteran foodie."

  • "Our first experience of Spanish Tapas, our lunch at Casa Brindisa, South Kensington, was fantastic. We were given a warm welcome, our waitress was was very attentive and helpful and whilst it was obviously busy, the atmosphere in the restaurant was very relaxed and happy. Not knowing what to expect, our lunch was simply delicious; a light chorizo tortilla, garlic bread, sauteed squid, chili prawns, green salad, finely sliced pork, and a generous slice of Monte Enebro goats cheese with honey. Everything beautifully cooked and bursting with flavour - a real treat! Would recommend this restaurant and will eat there again."

  • "My wife and I visited here after the theatre and were overall satisfied with the quality of food/service. I had reserved a table and despite running late they were extremely accommodating in holding our table. I would strongly recommend this for pre/post theatre, especially because of its proximity to The Royal Albert Hall."
    dined on 14/02/2014
  • "Found online and booked unseen after reading very positive reviews. Not disappointed! A great atmosphere, attentive and friendly staff along with wonderful food made for a very satisfying experience. Would definitely go again."
    dined on 16/02/2014
  • "The food is delicious. Food is served quickly, which makes it perfect for a lunch break. A little bit pricey but worth it for a treat."
    dined on 14/02/2014
  • "Great tapas, good service, and really good location for a pre/post museum meal."
    dined on 15/02/2014
  • "Excellent pre theatre option. Good ambiance, very friendly staff. Highly recommend."
    dined on 12/02/2014
  • "Not as good a selection as in the past. Nonetheless some excellent side dishes and the ham is superb as ever. More choice needed and the return of some cheese dishes. Not good on main plates. Service outstandingly helpful and friendly."
    dined on 12/02/2014
  • "I first went here last year, when the food was good, but the service poor to indifferent. Last night the food was even better, and the service nearly perfect. There are good vegetarian options, the food is fresh and delicious and the tapas that we (four of us) ordered was brought to our table in two batches, which meant the table wasn't over-crowded, and the garlic prawns - in the second batch - were hot and sizzling. Recommend the garlic prawns by the way. And the patatas bravas with aioli. Recommend the whole place, in fact. I will definitely be going again. There appeared to be a lot of Spanish-speaking customers dining when we were there - always a good sign!"
