Casa BrindisaFantasticFavourite tapas restaurant in London by a mile! Always fantastic.11/05/2013 00:00:00ExcellentGo to this tapas bar/ restaurant. Every dish is beautiful, delicate and cooked with love and care. The service is well timed and friendly. The house wine is good value and pleasant. You can eat a little or a lot.10/05/2013 00:00:00Had a really lovely lunchHad a really lovely lunch at Casa Brindisa - the food was excellent and there was lots to choose from. The only downside was the speed of the service - it took a very long time for our order to be taken and brought to the table. The waiter had also forgotten a couple of the dishes, which then took a further 30 minutes to get to us, meaning we had no time left for dessert.
Would definitely come back though.28/04/2013 00:00:00Best tapas this side of SpainCasa Brindisa serves up great tapas at good value- it's always busy so book to avoid disappointment! Many of the staff are Spanish, and the restaurant has a local Spanish feel- jugs of beer, plenty of cured meats and fantastic croquetas are among the highlights. If you yearn for a taste of Spain, save yourself the hassle of flying and go to south Kensington instead!27/04/2013 00:00:00splendid stuffHad a terrific lunch last Friday - really good. Will definitely go back next time I'm in town.26/04/2013 00:00:00Great foodReally enjoyed the food however would have been better to have a specified waiter/waitress as we did have problems ordering.26/04/2013 00:00:00We had a family dinner withWe had a family dinner with nine of us, following a performance ( which included our older kids) at the Royal Albert Hall. The food ( all tapas style ) was delicious. The only drawback was that we were seated late ( at 9.15, instead of 9.00 ) and the kitchen closed at 10.00 which meant that we couldn't have desserts or even hot chocolate for the children, which was a pity, especially as it is a Spanish restaurant. I understand the need for diners not to feel rushed, but equally we had elderly relatives and kids with us and had to wait outside which was rather chilly, and the staff were not very sympathetic. The service from our waitress, however, was excellent, and she was particularly good at recommending how much we should order.14/04/2013 00:00:00A part of Spain in KensingtonThis wasn't my first visit, and it certainly won't be my last! This time a group of 10 spending a lazy afternoon late lunch - fabulous. Real tapas, real choice - it was a real experience. Great food apart, friendly and helpful staff and a truly wonderful location - like us there seemed to be other large family meals going on - and final proof (!) a lot of our fellow diners were Spaniards!13/04/2013 00:00:00Great resturantThis is my third visit and as before had lovely food (the tortilla was to die for) and the service was spot on, friendly, well timed. Great location too, close to museums and the tube. I will be back12/04/2013 00:00:00DeliciousI came here for a family birthday. It was really busy on a Wednesday evening (you'll almost certainly need to book). Service was a little slow at first but the staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was really good - the prawns and the meat selection particularly so, although all of it was good. It came out about £40-45 per head with a couple of glasses of wine each, coffee and dessert.10/04/2013 00:00:00An ending to a celebratory dayAfter being out and about in London to celebrate a special birthday we ended up at a booked table at Casa Brindisa. Fantastic atmosphere and attentive, polite service, with delicious and exciting food and wine, it brought a special day to memorable close07/04/2013 00:00:00Fab Tapas in South Ken.Popped in for a snack and to meet a friend at 6pm on a busy Tuesday evening and left 5 hours later. Wonderful friendly and helpful staff (all Spanish as far as I could work out) who were very happy to support our grazing habits that started with a few nuts and olives to a full blown feast as the evening progressed.
Highlights:
- super sherries, try the house La Ina - Fernando de Castilla
- melt in your mouth homemade croquetas (they change daily)
- a most fabulous goats cheese, deep fried with a honey coating - sounds vile, but exquisite
- good spirit and friendliness in huge quantities.
This place is excellent fun, good value for South Ken. as long as you don't get stuck into the meat platters as these don't come cheap.
Enjoy!02/04/2013 00:00:00Top TapasWe ordered about 6 tapas dishes. They arrived spread over about 25 minutes which was just right. Each was done with top notch ingredients, particularly the ham. Each plate we sampled was pronounced "the best so far".
The wine, Castelo de Medina, also worked well with everything.
A fantastic meal31/03/2013 00:00:00spanish delightWe chose tapas - 1 dish each plus salad - we couldn't finish them! Specially good were the padron peppers and anchovies. The restaurant has expanded since I was last there but the standards remain high. Noisy but fun!27/03/2013 00:00:00Not quite Spain, but close!Undoubtedly one of the better UK versions of a tapas restaurant. Menu choices include a good smattering of Spanish classics, plus a few more innovative dishes. Prices are fair (especially bearing in mind the prime location), and service is super-quick - you can count on being well-fed and out again in not much over an hour if speed is important to you. Skip dessert and you could do it in 45 minutes. My only gripes would be that the wines appear significantly over-priced (cheapest albarino was £32 a bottle, I think), and that they charge for bread - no self-respecting Spanish restaurant should ever do that! Nevertheless, highly recommended, and don't miss the chorizo on toast!25/03/2013 00:00:00Tasty TapasExcellent food at a realistic price for central London. An ideal spot for an evening meal before visiting the Royal Albert Hall, or after a day at the nearby museums.
We had a meat Plata and the cheese plata with Gordial Olives and salted chillies. A beautiful meal reminiscent of Valencia at London prices. Not too expensive but be prepared if you want to eat the tapas way of continually ordering plates, the price will mount up pretty quickly.14/03/2013 00:00:00Great food but not very comfortableThe food was excellent but we were squeezed onto table for four even though I had reserved for five of us.26/02/2013 00:00:00Quiet South Ken Spanish tapasI regularly have casual lunches here with friends because of the convenience near So. Kensington tube, the variety of interesting Spanish dishes, good value, and good ambiance that is not noisy. Women particularly like the small dishes.22/01/2013 16:00:00GOOD AS EVER!A warm welcome, a good atmosphere, efficient service and fantastic food with a wide and interesting menu. What more could you want?11/01/2013 00:00:00Tasty food as always but...This place always has amazing food and normally a good level of service but for some reason this time there were a lot of small mix-ups, a lot of effort in ensuring the order was correct and getting sparkling water in stead of still were the main distractions.
I want to go back but I'm now not sure if it would be my first choice anymore given the experience. Just a little bit more of a personal service and some better attention paid to customers when they are ordering and asking questions about the food would be good, our waiter seemed quite 'fresh' and just didn't know enough about the menu.30/12/2012 16:00:00Casa Fantastica!Great food with great service! Love the padron peppers, the tortilla was delicious. Working my way through the puddings, the pear was very tasty. Also, a glass of the excellent sherry with pud gives a lovely warm feeling. Been there twice, definately go again.17/12/2012 16:00:00Thoroughly decent experienceConvenient location, well prepared standard fare, reasonable price. Nothing exceptional but would return.01/12/2012 00:00:00Best Tapas in LondonI absolutely love Casa Brindisa - it really is worth thinking about your dinner plans in advance and booking this restaurant as it is impossible to get a reservation just by turning up because it is so popular.28/11/2012 00:00:00Viva Brindisa! We enjoyed some excellent tapas at Casa Brindisa, in a convincingly Spaninsh ambience. The genius of this place is in keeping things simple: there's not much on the menu, but you can order anything and be confident it'll be of the very highest quality. We had excellent jamon, excellent cheese, excellent patatas bravas and excellent bread with excellent olive oil, washed down by some excellent rioja and an excellent oloroso sherry. Not cheap at £85 for the two of us, but no complaints given the sheer pleasure of the meal. Save yourself the cost of an easyjet flight to Madrid and book a table here instead.21/10/2012 16:00:00trex saysGreat manager and service. Tasty authentic food. Kinda expensive but not for South Ken. Tons of variety.07/10/2012 00:00:00A favourite for pre concertsA favourite for pre concerts etc - excellent genuine tapas27/08/2012 00:00:00We had a quick meal beforeWe had a quick meal before going to the Proms. It as a great success and good value. The nature of the menu allows a filling selection of well prepared dishes to be chosen and eaten quickly - although there is every reason to linger if you have time.17/07/2012 16:00:00Some of the best tapas in LondonI would go so far as to say that Casa Brindisa boasts some of the best tapas in London. I have never been disappointed with the quality of the food there and neither do the restaurant's guests as this restaurant is always busy. Make sure you book a table in advance so that you don't get caught short!23/06/2012 00:00:00Four of us and a child wentFour of us and a child went to Cafe Brindisi Exhibition road yesterday. We found th atmosphere very spanish and the food was a high quality. We ordered Tapas on the recommendation of the waiter. We had plenty to eat nd one of our party is spanish and she was very complimentary14/04/2012 00:00:00Casa Brindisa, South Kensington.
NCasa Brindisa, South Kensington.
Nice little spanish place... Surprised paella wasn't on the menu... But great buzzing atmosphere which I like, food came out very quickly and didn't overload the table - they gradually bought the dishes out which was good.
Was surprised the final bill wasn't higher really considering all the food we bought.21/02/2012 16:00:00
