Diner Reviews
  • "Good food, excellent service. Good competitor for Wahaca"
    dined on 13/04/2014
  • "Fabulous food, even better margaritas. I'm a sucker for a booth so all in all my perfect restaurant. The gaucamole is a must just for the experience. I've been twice and am currently trying to find an excuse to go again..."

  • "A special occasion was made even more, because of the service we received - particularly appreciated as one of my friends is in a wheelchair - we were all treated the same - and very well"
    dined on 12/04/2014
  • "The service was friendly and attentive but the food was very average, certainly below expectations. The decor was very bland resembling hotel experience, no Mexican atmosphere."

  • "Really enjoyed my first experience here, lovely food and great service!"
    dined on 09/04/2014
  • "very impressed by excellent separate vegetarian menu. The booths are nice and private and the staff very attentive but not over powering"

  • "Our first visit and will definitely come back. Attentive service even though it was a busy pre theatre Friday. Delicious guacamole made at the table followed by a tasting platter to share. All tasty, well seasoned and well presented. The highlight was our Tequila Lime Cheesecake. This place is a find in the centre of what can often be a tourist trap location in the West End. Great atmosphere, good food and service. And all at a reasonable price."

  • "The food is ok and prepared very fast but waiter delivers on the run so feel like it was thrown onto table"

  • "We arrived 20 minutes early to 6.30pm Thursday booking and were immeadiatley taken to our table. This is Mexican food at the top end of the market. Having spent time in Mexico in my youth I can attest to this being proper mexican faire that bought back lots of memories. Portions whilst not small, were what you would expect at the top end of the market, yet prices were not unreasonable. I spent £80 on three courses for two people, we have a cocktail each. Staff were very attentive to our needs, but not excessively. I would happily go there again."

  • "had a toptable offer, it was reasonably priced with the offer. Me and a girlfriend when for girlie lunch and cocktails, they were excellent. The food was nice and good portions. Would go back if i was in the area but wouldnt especially travel there to eat there."
    dined on 22/03/2014
  • "Nothing outstanding about the food. There was a large selection of cocktails however, and the service was friendly and efficient. Decor seemed a bit mixed and matched. We were sat in a booth resembling an american diner and the lighting was too bright."
    dined on 28/03/2014
  • "I enjoyed everything in this restaurant... perhaps, too overcrowded."
    dined on 15/02/2014
  • "Excellent food with creative variations on a traditional cuisine. Guacamole made at the table was wonderful. This is "Mexican fine dining". Would love to be able to buy some of that "secret spices" ingredient that makes the guacamole so delicious."
    dined on 29/03/2014
  • "Amazing food, wonderful ambience and margaritas are unbelievable, best in London!!"
    dined on 29/03/2014
  • "I booked this restaurant to celebrate our daughters 21st birthday. Food was lovely and the staff were very attentive. Guacamole to die for!"
    dined on 28/03/2014
  • "Having visited this restaurant previously, I had high hopes for not only the food but the service and ambiance of this eating establishment. Unfortunately i was left feeling slightly embarrassed. The service was rushed and awkward - the batman twice cleared the plates before everyone had finished eating - a big no no! He also kept insisting he bring us more alcohol, despite us saying we were ok. A real shame"
    dined on 28/03/2014
  • "This restaurant in a modern building lacks atmosphere with its rather cold functional interior. I have no prior experience of Mexican food but most of what we had was overcooked and not very tasty. The guacamole was fine but nothing special. The Hot chocolate though was delicious."
    dined on 26/03/2014
  • "Pre theatre menu- great starter and dessert. Main course was good."
    dined on 21/03/2014
  • "Good tequila list and guacamole...one of the best Mexicans in London. Request a booth when booking."
    dined on 25/03/2014
  • "We booked for 5pm to allow time to get over to Royal Albert Hall afterwards and the restaurant was pretty much empty when we arrived. However it soon started to fill up so I would recommend booking. Food was great, menu was a wide variety of choices. More choice than other Mexicans in the area which is why we picked this one. Service was fine, waitress was very pleasant, chatty and informative. The fresh fruit waters are lovely (if a little pricey). The pre theatre menu has a vegetarian option (whole menu not just odd dishes) which I thought was great. It is also very good value. Main menu cost us just over £50 for two with starters and main course and two drinks each. Not bad at all for Central London. Would definitely eat here again."
    dined on 25/03/2014
  • "We had a very good evening at this restaurant and would definitely go there again."
    dined on 22/03/2014
  • "We ate from the pre theatre menu - the food was fantastic, great portions and the service couldn't be faulted. Given the opportunity, I would like to return to try the main menu - I love the idea of having guacamole freshly made at your table. The restaurant is situated in a great location and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Cantina Laredo to anyone wanting great food and good value for money."
    dined on 19/02/2014
  • "Good menu for pre-theatre including a separate menu for vegetarians"
    dined on 15/03/2014
  • "Great food, exceptional service, unforgettable margaritas"
    dined on 12/03/2014
  • "Excellent food and service at Cantina Laredo. The staff was extremely friendly, helpful and efficient. The food was very good, from the cocktails to the main course to dessert. The convenient location near Covent Garden and so many theatres is an added bonus. I would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant."
    dined on 14/03/2014
  • "I really enjoyed dinner at Cantina Laredo but it was rather pricey. We had a couple of small plates as starters, tacos for mains with a couple of sides and a cocktail each, which came to approx £60. The food was really tasty but the portions weren't very large. Also, the dining area that we were seated in at the back of the restaurant was reminiscent of a conference room and was not nearly as atmospheric as the main bar/restaurant area."
    dined on 28/02/2014
  • "Great concept! Wide variety of dishes, all delicious! Fresh ingredients and expertly cooked. The waiting staff were incredible, special thanks to Anna who made my father's birthday extra special! I would strongly recommend a Casa Rita margarita and the guacamole is the best I've ever tasted. Will definitely be returning!"
    dined on 15/03/2014
  • "I went for a pre-theatre dinner with my boyfriend and we were so impressed with the service, portion size and personal care we received. I recommend the fajitas and I'd definitely recommend paying for the guacamole and chips to start. Such a great experience."
    dined on 14/03/2014
  • "Me and a friend had a wonderful meal here on Wednesday. We went for the Pre-Theatre menu, which was great value and had a good range of choices. The food was beautiful and our waitress was very friendly and attentive. Couldn't recommend enough."
    dined on 12/03/2014
  • "My husband and I had a lovely meal, the food was outstanding. Great value and the waitress recommended a fab cocktail. Over all when we visit London again we will making a call at the resturant as it was a lovely place to eat. Xx"
    dined on 11/03/2014
  • "As my wife is a coeliac we can find it hard to find places to eat out. The Cantina Laredo was great, they had a varied menu and even offered to alter non-gluten free meals to accommodate my wife. The food was hot, tasty, well presented and served at a good pace even though it was very busy."
    dined on 01/03/2014
  • "Wanted a good Mexican restaurant and top table gave this good reviews. The restaurant had a nice buzz but our waitress was clearly too busy for her covers. She was polite and tried her best but we had to ask for drinks and ask other staff for plates!! Guacamole was made at our table and was excellent the food that followed was served not hot and not made to order. It felt like the food was not made fresh to order and this was not reflected in the price which was £100 for 2. This included a mixed starter, a portion of guacamole, a cheese dip, one main course and some rice and asparagus. 2 alcoholic drinks and some very under cooked churros."
    dined on 08/03/2014
  • "The food is excellent and the choice is great. It has a good position in theatreland. The staff are always helpful."
    dined on 06/03/2014
  • "Great margaritas and some really lovely Mexican flavours. Good service although a tad slow when busy. Enjoyed on the whole."
    dined on 07/03/2014
  • "Went to this restaurant before heading to the English national opera. The service was very quick and friendly, and the food was delicious. We started with chips, salsa and guacamole made freshly at the table. I then had steak tacos and my partner had the fajitas. We finished with the Apple pie and churros. The food tasted fresh and well seasoned, and we were very full at the end. I would definitely recommend the restaurant as a more upmarket Mexican and am looking forward to going back."
    dined on 07/03/2014
  • "Lovely fresh guacamole, made infront of you! Great authentic food choices, good service, perfect location for pre/post theatre. A way better alternative to some of the 'fast food' Mexican near by."
    dined on 28/02/2014
  • "The food was delicious and the cocktails are excellent too. The restaurant was very busy - the only strange thing was that we arrived early for a 7 o clock booking (we arrived at 6.30) and so although on the plus side we got seated straight away, at 7.55 we were told that they had another reservation for 8.00 and would need the table back - which, if we'd arrived at the correct time, would have meant just an hour for dinner. They didn't mention this when we were seated either and although it was fine for me and my dining companion, if we'd been expecting a good night out, that would have put quite a dampner on things."
    dined on 05/03/2014
  • "This is the second time I have dined at Cantina Laredo for a birthday meal. I love the large amount of vegetarian options and the flavour that they pack in to their contemporary mexican food. The brownie dessert is one of the best brownie desserts I have ever had. The staff are friendly, helpful and polite, and the food was served at a good pace. I shall certainly be going back."
    dined on 02/03/2014
  • "Food is quality - the frozen margaritas were excellent. Service and hygiene is really good."
    dined on 02/03/2014
  • "Amazing food, fantastic service and a friendly atmosphere. The freshly made guacamole on your table being the highlight of the food items ordered. Fantastic restaurant defiantly a must visit."
