Café St HonoréA Secret DelightMy partner and I had another romantic beautiful evening at Cafe St.Honre. Probably our 6th time having dinner here, and it just keeps outdoing itself each time (Service, Food, Atmosphere). Our Favourite restaurant in Edinburgh!12/04/2013 00:00:00Beautifully situated , tuckedBeautifully situated , tucked away on a corner of a little side street just off George St, the Cafe St Honore really looks like you have landed somewhere in France. Inside it has the same bistro like ambience which is very nice as well. Food is very good though the menu a bit limited. Two of us had the roast sirloin of beef and it was excellent. Three courses if ordered a la carte are quite expensive. There were three of us and two had only two courses. The bill came to £176 ( including service which you have to add in). Good wine list and the drinks came to about £ 70.06/04/2013 00:00:00Great place for great foodI have been to the restaurant before and have always had excellent service and food. The restaurant has a great atmosphere (I prefer the mirrored section to the back). Food is very tasty and they have a cheaper market menu. The food can be a little on the pricey side but it is matched by high quality food. I will definitely be returning again.10/03/2013 00:00:00A hidden GemThis little restaurant hidden behind the now sheik Thistle Street will blow you away. You know you've entered a different world when you venture through its doors. Some classics and fresh seasonal produce are a plenty - it's well worth a visit. It's the first time in a long time that all 4 of us agreed that from start to finish the food and service was excellent.23/02/2013 00:00:00A relaxed and romantic atmosphere,A relaxed and romantic atmosphere, excellent service. We had the special offer set menu (up til 7pm only), the food was beautiful and we liked the seasonal, locally sourced ingredients and the suppliers listed on the menu. The only down side was the limited choice on the set menu - only 2 for each course ( I don't like fish so had no choice other than Aberdeen Angus beef casserole) This was delicious but would have liked even one more choice, we could of course chosen off the more expensive A la Carte menu.22/02/2013 00:00:00Outstanding dining experienceThe whole experience was first class. Fantastic food and wine. Service and ambience was wonderful. I would recommend to even the most difficult to please foodies (as I am)15/02/2013 00:00:00Cafe St Honore still goodI went for lunch with a colleague last week and I am pleased to report that Cafe St Honore is still up to it's usual high standard !14/02/2013 00:00:00I love the romantic and specialI love the romantic and special ambience created in here. Staff and service amazingly attentive and food excellent as always with menus and wine for all budgets available. My husband had the pigeon starter with beetroot and venison with black pudding rosti for main. Both amazing he said. I had the beetroot with fabulous highland crowdie cheese and toasted seeds and hake with crispy fried oyster, lentils, fennel and seafood sauce. Absolutely divine! We'll definitely be back. Not a place for big groups as it's too intimate a space and would spoil the perfect evening for two or four at most. Pre-dinner drinks at Bon Vivant are also the perfect apperitif!14/02/2013 00:00:00Lovely atmosphere with classicLovely atmosphere with classic french cooking. Will definitely be revisiting again soon18/03/2012 00:00:00Cafe St Honore. Ate of theCafe St Honore. Ate of the £22.50 dinner menu. Starters and main were excellent. We had Cheese to finish but was not to our liking. Glass of wine included in price was excellent. Would definitely recommend.06/02/2012 16:00:00
