I had a girlie lunch with both my daughters and my sister on Saturday 11th May. I booked the £14.95 special offer which gave us 2 courses and a glass of wine. My experience was just as good as on previous visits. Good value for money. Good quality food, well cooked and thoughtfully presented. We enjoyed the daily special of crab and avacado for starter and swordfish for our main course. We were pleased that neither had a supplement attached. The service is good and the ambience relaxed and friendly. Our dinner, chosen from the set menu, was delicious and well-presented. When going to the theatre, time is always of essence, and Cafe has obviously had lots of experience in this necessity and the service was professional, friendly and
efficient. The only negative was that the restaurant was quite crowded with a queue waiting to get in, which shows it's
popularity and the proximity to Covent Garden makes it a draw. It is also very good value for money which is an added bonus! This restaurant really is a little gem of a place.
The only drawback was the date with my partner when we were upstairs and it was way too warm. We asked for the windows to be opened but that wasn't possible so the air con was switched on for a while. Staff were very understanding, helpful and too hot themselves!!
