Café AmishaGreat local ItalianCafe Amisha is our local, just ten minutes down the road. We've been many times now, and it's always been a great experience. The food is good, there are plenty of vegetarian options and the prices are fantastic - £8-9 for a pizza. Highly recommended.08/05/2013 00:00:00In the middle of nowhere!Everything was great about Cafe Amisha, apart from it's location! The food was of a great quality and good portions and the service was quick. However I had never been to Bermondsey before.. It takes 15 minutes to walk from the tube station, and this is something you would not want to do in the dark. My friends were asking me where I had brought them to, as it's a long walk through a housing estate and then the restaurant suddenly appeared on the side of the street! However, once you get past the location, the overall experience was great. The restaurant was empty, hence the low ambience score, however it was only 4pm.05/05/2013 00:00:00An oasis in a culinary desertSouth-East London is not blessed with great eateries but Café Amisha definitely is an exception. While the menu offers all the hallmarks of the straight forward, classic Italian cuisine - pasta & pizzas - the quality of the food, freshly prepared in an open kitchen, is well above most average Mediterranean restaurants. Not one for desserts I found the Tiramisu especially outstanding. The staff is attentive, swift and exceptionally friendly, which is all you want from your favourite local. The interior is stylish and there's plenty of space for big dinner parties, while lone or couple diners will not feel intimidated. Well worth repeated and regular visits.27/04/2013 00:00:00Excellent second visitthe atmosphere is lovely, it very warm, clean toilets but they are down stairs, however there is a disabled toilet. food superb, I recommend the ravioli, veggie one with mushrooms and cream, yet to try dessert, very cosy, staff friendly, we took a new born baby, lots of space, music, like a wine bar, so nice to chill out in, and decorated with wonderful art work, perfect venue for a party !!20/04/2013 00:00:00Excellent italian foodI have been going to Cafe Amisha regularly since I found it. Its a hidden gem in bermondsey. The staff are very friendly and the restaurant always has a great buzz. The staff are child friendly & accommodate children that make you feel welcome. The food is delicious and presentation has the wow factor. I would definitely recommend it to friends and family. Great evening out.14/04/2013 00:00:00Excellent foodI loved Cafe Amisha. The good is fantastic, the service is excellent and I will definitely be returning soon.12/04/2013 00:00:00A gem in BermondseyWe have eaten here on many occasions and find the food amazing, ambience just right and the staff treat you like family. A real pleasure to dine here-truly recommend.11/04/2013 00:00:00First visitWe were all impress by the art work on display, a little cold on the walk to toilet downstairs, but a disabled one is available up stairs, they have high chairs for babies, it's chilled out, music playing, warm and cozy the food is great, lots of choice. Staff all cheerful and helpful, we will visit again, with the 50% off offer it was a bargain, we got starter and main for ten pound a head !!! Staff called me to inform us they were closing kitchen early so that was kind and we ordered our food on phone, but there was plenty time to eat it , will be back !!,07/04/2013 00:00:00Food and service great asFood and service great as always - only complaint is they could do with some heating as it is a bit cold!04/04/2013 00:00:00Love the placeSecond time here and been impressed each time. Staff are genuinely pleasant and it creates a lovely atmosphere. The food is delicious and very reasonably priced. Heartily recommended.22/03/2013 00:00:00italian diningA memorable genuine Italian style evening created by wonderful ambience and Italian atmosphere. Interesting decor, unusuai range of different sized tables (long wooden ones fun for groups). All placed in large concrete space which is imaginatively decked out. Unusual descent to downstairs toilets. Open plan cooking area with long reception area. Excellen Italian waitress service, very friendly and not hurried along when wanting to relax and spend time chatting. Food tastey with wide choice. Exceptional pizzas! Good value for your money.13/03/2013 00:00:00Quality, as ever. BeautifulQuality, as ever. Beautiful food - with particularly excellent deserts. Service is always friendly and relaxed.10/03/2013 00:00:00Gorgeous FoodAmazing food, service was brilliant and very friendly staff.10/03/2013 00:00:00Always a joyWe came at short notice when other plans fell through for a small family celebration. Great welcome, great food and lovely wine.02/03/2013 00:00:00Great as usual!I cannot get tired of going here! Food is great, staff is lovely, and they are very accommodating to special requests! I go here virtually every week and love it more and more!01/03/2013 00:00:00Great service at AmishaI went to Cafe Amisha on a Saturday night with the Top Table deal of 50% off food. We had a lovely warm welcome and the restaurant is furnished in a modern style. It is a bit out of the way (great if you are on the C10 bus route) at the bottom of a housing estate but well worth the journey off the beaten track. The service was excellent and the food fresh and tasty. I will definitely be adding this to my list of go to places and with the offer it is a really good value place to drop in!23/02/2013 00:00:00Cafe Amisha surprised me withCafe Amisha surprised me with the value of food. When we came to eat here, they had 50% off if you ordered a starter and a main. The portions were big, the service was excellent and the value - under £10 for a two meal course speaks for itself. Would recommend and would go again19/02/2013 00:00:00Saturday lunchOff the beaten track for us, but well worth the visit. The outside does not do justice to the amazing interior, with spacious tables catering for couples, large groups and families. Delicious home-cooked food and really lovely service.16/02/2013 00:00:00Went to this quiet littleWent to this quiet little venue for a valentines day meal. There is a wonderful smell of pizzas cooking in the oven when you step inside. Half the tables are under a dimmer set of lights, we were sat under quite a bright set of lights which was slightly less romantic but still a nice atmosphere. Food was equivalent to a good zizzis, not amazing but considering it was 50% off this was a brilliant deal. Staff were super friendly and the baked calamari starter is to die for. Great little gem of a restaurant i would definitely go again.16/02/2013 00:00:00Wonderful meal at Cafe AmishaA wild card, in the depths of Bermondsey (at least to me), it was well worth going off the beaten track for Amisha. Dont be put off by the "cafe" in the title. decor quirky if a little cold but food was stunning (chose off the specials - freshly brought in from markets on the day i believe). Seabass, moules and smoked salmon all divine and served perfectly. Our waiter was efficient but with a wicked humour which made the meal. Was so good returned 2 weeks later!15/02/2013 00:00:00Loved it!Amazing food, perfect service, friendly staff! Absolutely loved it!14/02/2013 00:00:00Dinner for 3I am a returning customer of Cafe' Amisha, I love to take new friends to this place because I am sure They will enjoy the food and atmosfere.
We had Burrata, pork terrine and polenta with sausages as starter and as main course we had Veal with roasted potatoes and spinach and linguine al Nero di seppia with camberetti....
We love it and I cannot wait to go back soon.
You must try the specials of the day, are always delicious.
Alex10/02/2013 00:00:00davidpA little off the beaten track and well worth the walk - for us from London Bridge station - for the Bermondsey young well off, a mere stone's throw. Friendly and unpretentious with very good Italian (Umbrian) food, well served and with outstanding value at a very reasonable price. We will certainly go again.10/02/2013 00:00:00great value and friendly serviceCan't complain with great service and £40 for two courses and a couple of drinks each.07/02/2013 00:00:00Saturday, 2 February - MySaturday, 2 February - My sister and I took our lovely mother for a late lunch last Saturday to Cafe Amisha for the first time and will defo return. Staff very friendly and food delicious. Nicely decorated restaurant. I see there is a good cocktail list so will book for a Friday night with the girls sometime too, nice and local for us - number one bus ride home. Easily accessible for buses to Waterloo and Canada Water. A must, might even be back again this Saturday for lunch! Top Table offer superb!02/02/2013 00:00:00Great foodThis Italian has become a firm favourite as it's reasonably priced, the food is great and the service is excellent! Was very happy to see Pavlova on the dessert menu!30/01/2013 00:00:00The crispy heart of real BermondseyEnjoyable Pizza and more at great value from Cafe Amisha.
A mixed adult group of us enjoyed a relaxed evening last week with starters and main dishes with friendly but not over bearing staff. Good atmosphere for being able to chat over food and drink. Easy and unpretentious.23/01/2013 16:00:00Really friendly, attentiveReally friendly, attentive service. Idionsyncratic decor (in a good way). My soup starter was nice, pizza top quality too. My girlfriend's Bruschetta starter was pretty tasty and her carbonara was reasonable (but not exceptional).
We had the house wine which at £13.50 (if memory serves me correctly) was a steal. All told, with the 50% discount it came to £27 - a bargain for two people.
Would visit again.18/01/2013 16:00:00The perfect Sunday LunchWe were a large booking of 12 people (all from Italy) 6 adults and 6 kids.
We booked at 12 o'clock and we had 1 long table and 1 table were the kids could play with their toy.
We were welcome by Francesco, smiling and friendly as usual. We had the special of the house, cozze, calamari, salumi misti to share as starter and polenta with sausages, polenta with Taleggio and Tagliatelle with chinghiale.
It was like a typical Sunday lunch back home were " La Mamma" make fresh pasta with Ragu di chinghiale and leave it on the middle of the table to share.
Leo is a great Chef.
We had a very fantastic time. We do had also a fantastic selection of desserts and all were Fantastic.
We will be back very soon.

They also greeted us by name which was very enjoyable28/11/2012 00:00:00Little gem in BermondseyI've been to Cafe Amisha a few times and the staff are really friendly, the prices cannot be beaten and the food tastes great. If the taste of the food was 9/10, the presentation I would give 6/10 - but taste is all that matters to me!17/11/2012 00:00:00Best of the old and new waveCafe Amisha offers old-style Italian hospitality in a modern setting with a menu that straddles old and new wave. Not haute cuisine but always enjoyable.04/10/2012 16:00:00Great findSecond time I've been here now & loved it both times. Delighted to live so close and to have found it! Food is top notch, great value with the offer, pleasant service. Heartily recommended.04/09/2012 00:00:00Friendly local Italian restaurantStaff was friendly and cheerful. The food is very nice and traditional.12/08/2012 00:00:00Another excellent meal at AmishaWe had yet another excellent meal at Amisha on the TT deal. Salmon carpaccio special was great, as were the pasta dishes. We sat outside this time which made a pleasant change! Thank you.12/08/2012 00:00:00Good budget authentic Italian! In Tower Hill & looking for an authentic Italian? Than I recommend here. Every dish homemade plus the sauces that were flavoursome & well seasoned. It's hard to find a good Italian that serves good portions but also greaseless without the excess oil. Bruschetta was crunchy made with quality tomatoes. All the ingredients were of the highest quality & fresh. The baked aubergine was small but delicious with it baked perfectly, not too soft or undercook. You can taste the herbs for flavour rather than salt. Pizzas large & filled generously with fresh toppings. I recommend the Florentina for a silky texture. Squid ink pasta was was the highlight with a nice bite of asparagus, al dente pasta & kick of spice. It was a but quiet but delicious food.11/08/2012 00:00:00Just rightMy sister was staying in Bermondsey for the night and we wanted to find somewhere cheap & cheerful to grab a quick bite - and were very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and the warmness of the service. Heartily recommended and I'll certainly be back for more.08/08/2012 00:00:00Great casual dining destinationThe `cafe' in the title is potentially misleading as Amisha particularly on a Saturday night when there was a big party and several smaller groups and couples all enjoying two or more courses of good Italian food.
The wine list is short and well chosen and all cooking is done in the open kitchen from raw ingredients by Italian chefs who know what they are doing. Service is excellent and somehow balances a casual informality with slick efficiency.13/07/2012 16:00:00A great place to work rest and playWe have been to Cafe Amisha several times for pleasure but on this occasion came with a business colleague who was in London to attend an exhibition. The relaxed casual atmosphere on a good sized refectory table was ideal for the purpose, the food and drink was great and the bill small enough to keep under his expenses cap.26/06/2012 16:00:00Local favouriteA local favourite - amazing value with the 50% off. Everything is of a good standard, but we find the pasta dishes particularly good. Staff are always friendly.17/06/2012 00:00:00Best in BermondseyNot in trendy Bermondsey Street but a much better vibe in a proper restaurant run by people who know what they are doing. The food is pretty much all made on site and all excellent. Great for multi-generational dining. Good coffee too.16/06/2012 16:00:00GreatI love this place, it's local, the food is great and the staff extremely friendly!!05/06/2012 16:00:00Excellent meatAnother great meal at Cafe Amisha. The homemade pasta dishes are particularly delicious!03/06/2012 00:00:00Great little neighbourhood placeWere in neighbourhood and stumbled over this place. The starters of melanza and squid were great as were the pasta dish and the tagliata. Prices are very reasonable and service is charming. Recommended.24/05/2012 00:00:00Excellent!Another great meal at Cafe Amisha. Really outstanding value on the 50% off offer, but still definitely worth paying full price. This has become our local favourite.22/04/2012 00:00:00
