The Pinot Grigio wine was the best I've ever tasted and the food was wholesome, flavoursome and creatively presented. A chic and friendly restaurant with an exclusive menu that won't disappoint. We arrived for a late dinner on a Monday night so it was pretty quiet. However, we were given a warm reception and the staff couldn't do enough for you. The meal options were rather limited but the food was excellent. My boyfriend had the rib eye and said it's the best steak he's had in this country. Although we were very full we decided we would share a dessert and had the passionfruit meringue pie - simply wow! The only negative was I thought my glass of wine was a little pricey but it could be argued that's what you pay for quality.

I've been to this restaurant a number of times now. The food continues to get even better. I love the ethics of the place too and expect it to be recognised by the foodies of London before much longer. It's also nice to be recognised by the staff and greeted like an old friend to the point of remembering the wine I ordered last visit. Every time, the food has been superb and the service very friendly. After a couple of visits, the wine waiter remembered what I liked which is a great touch. Our waiter was very helpful and friendly and explained the menu to us. We were interested to know that they have a menu prepared by participants in an apprentice scheme for disadvantaged people, although we didn't order from it as we wanted to try something else. The crayfish salad was a generous size for a starter and my salmon was cooked to perfection with a crispy skin. Desserts were heavenly & they were flexible when we wanted a different ice cream to that on the menu. With the 25% off from Top Table it was fantastic value. We sad around the corner so we didn't get noise from the bar. Unisex loos are a bad idea. A fairly short menu but good choices and the food is regional and of vey good quality. The rack of lamb was delicious and a good helping. The Brigade is absolutely charming. The, many, serving staff seem exceptionally pleased to see you and are totally absorbed in their work and their dishes. A few of the staff struggled with their English but as they were so nice I wolud forgive them anything! My 2 vegetarian friends felt well catered for - delicious mushrooms and fabulous risotto. My pork belly was lovely and an apple trifle ended a great meal. It's a business with a social conscious (and a cookery school!) which made us feel warm inside and we'll definitely be back. The menu's not extensive but is varied/interesting enough for us to have a hard time choosing! It seems to be a charitable venture, like15, but the waiting staff were all foreign (a Kiwi, a French woman and someone from the Baltic) so perhaps that applies to the kitchen staff.
One quibble: we used the 50% off food option and, whilst this was done, the VAT was then added on the undiscounted bill. The community project is obviously a commendable venture. The staff are friendly and efficient. The menu is innovative and the food is beautifully presented.
