Bread Street KitchenBirthday CelebrationsWe visited Bread Street Kitchen on Saturday evening and thoroughly enjoyed the meal from start to finish. The ambience was great, the building fabulous and the food was very good. We have been to Maze Grill on a number of occasions and this was just as good. My partner even received a free birthday dessert with candle & we both got free birthday shots! The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble! A fabulous evening had by us both! Thank you Bread Street Kitchen :-)18/05/2013 00:00:00Great for a relaxed business lunchGood food - noise levels were perfect for us to discuss work issues without worrying about every table nearby overhearing our conversation. Vegetarian options were good, a request to modify the dessert was easily arranged. I look forward to eating there again.16/05/2013 00:00:00a slice of NY in LondonNew York style bar-restaurant in the heart of London, great industrial interiors with a vinage touch, fantastic decoration details, very attentive service, excellent food and ambiance live music.12/05/2013 00:00:00Absolutely deliciousA delicious dinner, a great setting, a sweet atmosphere, I loved it. Especially good was the dessert, white chocolate, mango pavlova!11/05/2013 00:00:00Great!!Thumbs up for the guys downstairs at the bar!
Food was just perfect.10/05/2013 00:00:00Great place for a city lunchHad a casual work meeting over lovely fish. The upstairs is huge so plenty of room for
Last minute bookings. Loved my tuna. Thought my mac and cheese was actually too creamy.09/05/2013 00:00:00the sun was shining... and our group had a very jolly, tasty lunch that suited a very diverse business group.03/05/2013 00:00:00Friday night foodReally loved the interior style of this restaurant. Spacious, interesting furnishings & lighting. Great cocktails, great service and the food was casual, but high quality. Would definitely recommend, and would look forward to going again myself.03/05/2013 00:00:00Second time of visiting BreadSecond time of visiting Bread Street Kitchen...and there will be a third, fourth, fifth! Never in doubt of what you will experience: quality cooking, quirky ambience and a foodies pit-stop. Attentive service, good atmosphere, always seem happy to see you and it is a nice change from the norm. Guess it may not appeal to everyone, but it impressed me and I know my foodie spots in London02/05/2013 00:00:00Gordon in the kitchen with the pan?A terrific dining experience. The wait staff were particularly knowledgeable and happy to discuss the food options at length and similarly the sommelier was very patient with our wine deliberations. The food was excellent, of particular note were the scallops, which were perfectly prepared, the crackling on the pork belly perfectly crispy and a strong apple sauce completed the dish. If there is any criticism it would be that the restaurant could be quite noisy with its open plan arrangement and music just that bit to imposing on the conversation. But overall an excellent restaurant and highly recommended.02/05/2013 00:00:00Great food, nice abienceI like the professional service of staff in the restaurant. We made mistake in our in our reservation but the staff found the solution very quickly.
The decoration is kind of mix of ordinary, industrial and classy.
And the food - heaven in my mouth ;-)01/05/2013 00:00:00first visitWas a wonderful experience. Was over from Australia and had to try the place (recommended by my daughter who visited last year). Shame we didn't have much time to spend there due to other commitments. The highlight was getting a glimpse of Gordon himself. Great.30/04/2013 00:00:00Great Sunday Lazy Afternoon MealWe've visited this place with my significant other and had a great overall experience. A great selection of dishes to try from. I always take it as a great sign if all of the dishes in a menu sound good and you have difficulty to chose one. I went for a prawn starter; my other half tried the ham hock starter. For mains; he tried the lamb shank I went for the chicken roast. All washed down with a bottle of great (and relatively reasonably priced Valpolicello@GBP28 a bottle). All of the food tasted great. From the ingredients to the cooking it was excellent, highly competent bistro food. We paid GBP137 incl service. OK, it is not cheap but at least it delivers.
I will definitely go back to sample some more of their cocktails and food.28/04/2013 00:00:00Very goodIt was a fantastic experience: good food, good drink And lovely atmosphere!27/04/2013 00:00:00RemeberableA memorable evening with my wonderful wife and family. Great service, drinks and food topped with a good laugh made our evening!26/04/2013 00:00:00Well presented food and restaurantThe food and restaurant had both a good quality feel. Prices were reasonable and the wine list extensive. Would recommend for late afternoon lunches, evening meals and large group bookings. Ambience appeared to be the best around 7.00pm.25/04/2013 00:00:00Delicious as AlwaysAbsolutely gorgeous food in fun chic retro environment. The duck is tremendous and I would recommend to anyone looking for a lovely lunch or dinner. I have to dine alone a lot and staff are always attentive and kind to bring out food quickly. Quality is outstanding every time I eat at Bread Street Kitchen, I only wish we had one in Oxford.23/04/2013 00:00:00we travelled from Australiawe travelled from Australia to give this a go and we wre not dissappointed!
Pork Belly is a must!23/04/2013 00:00:00Top notchCracking service (the waiter was psychic and faultless), great booze list, very very good food. Lovely fresh bread. If my only complaint is "butter could be saltier", I'm getting desperate.20/04/2013 00:00:00Full lunchI enjoyed a weekday lunch with a friend and the starter portions were huge and very filling. The salmon ceviche with jalapeno, grapefruit, lime and coriander was delicious and very filling for a starter. For the main I had the pork belly again which was amazing but I couldn't even finish due to the large portions.
Expect a great ambience, service and large portions. Would highly recommend.17/04/2013 00:00:00excellentBooked a table online. Came there and had a good table in front of the open kitchen. Had a very good dinner with almost perfect service. Only thing that wasn´t perfect was the knowledge about the cognacs and calvados wheni had some questions about that.12/04/2013 00:00:00Lovely meal at Bread Street KitchenFriday night meal with my husband at BSK. Had a drink by myself at the bar whilst waiting for the other half to arrive. Friendly bar staff and I did not feel uncomfortable being myself. Generally the ambience is buzzing without being pretentious.
Seated quickly and offered a table directly opposite the open kitchen. Great to watch the slick chefs do there stuff. Waitress was friendly but service was a little patchy as our waitress was spread a little thin over a number of tables.
Food was fabulous! Really enjoyed the beetroot and goats curd tart, the pasta, the cod fish and crumble. Good portions.
Only comment would be very limited choice for vegetarians. Only 2 main dishes, spatzle (really heavy and rich) and pasta.12/04/2013 00:00:00Made a special evening very specialWe took our teenage kids here for my husbands birthday and really found it a lovely place to eat and celebrate. Great atmosphere, great decor, great staff, lovely wine and lovely food! I have a nut allergy and the waitress was so helpful and reassuring. Each course was delicious and we felt very relaxed and happy to just sit and enjoy ourselves. They brought a cake with a candle for my husband which was a nice touch! Would go back happily!11/04/2013 00:00:00Lovely relaxed meal againLovely relaxed meal again at Bread Street Kitchen - great selection (although the layout of the menu is quite confusing) - the chefs could go a bit easier on the salt though!08/04/2013 00:00:00Gorgeous FoodBread Kitchen is a gem in the heart of London! The food was delicious and very complex in the number of subtle flavors that could be captured in one fork-full. Cooked to perfection I would definitely recommend this restaurant to my friends for dinner. Service was fantastic, a great option for those people needing a business meal venue or on their way to a show. Am certainly coming back again!!08/04/2013 00:00:00Great EveningGreat place - excellent service - good was lovely and plentiful - thx06/04/2013 00:00:00First class dining with kids!We booked for Sat lunch as was in handy location and we were looking for somewhere half decent we could take the kids rather than the usual pizza/burger joints, plus had read good reviews. We were not disappointed. The food and service were excellent. The kids menu was great, fairly healthy and was v tasty, plus the kids got an activity pack to keep them amused. So much choice on the adults menu - all delicious - ranging from a burger to duck to scallops with a grill menu too. Waitress offered to top up our bread and the kids chips which was appreciated, and kept the water and wine coming. Would definitely return and recommend to families and foodies alike!06/04/2013 00:00:00Great food, different diningWe went here following afternoon theatre, 6pm Saturday, worried that maybe location (being the City) and time it would be quite, but this was not the case, it had a nice buzz. The restaurant has a great professional feel, yet relaxed, the attention to detail to the design is good and it makes for an enjoyable dining experience without being stuffy and pretentious. It is also very airy and spacious, so other diners are not on your lap! Service was also god, very friendly, attentive, polite-no problems there. As for the food, well it met our expectations and with all of the above, it was excellent, great flavours and tastes, plenty of choice and two very happy, full, people. I would certainly recommend this.06/04/2013 00:00:00Nice kitchen from Gordon RamsayVery good food and nice restaurant,
Reasonable prices for a Gordon Rmasaýs restaurant
The food was delicious with a very good service05/04/2013 00:00:00Delicious FoodI loved the decor of the restaurant - it was really cool and trendy. I would certainly return to explore more of the menu. The burger was really good and the side dishes (hand cut chips and macaroni cheese with roasted garlic - were very tasty and filling. Warm bread was served once we had placed our order and this was a good start to the dinner. The dessert menu was very tempting and my husband and I shared the hot chocolate pudding and mint choc chip ice-cream, it was the perfect end to a great dinner. Service was well-timed and friendly.05/04/2013 00:00:00Wonderful!Having eaten at several of Ramsays other establishments I decided to take my partner here for his Birthday and we weren't disappointed. When we arrived we were warmly welcomed and promptly seated. Starters of beetroot tart and cured pigs cheek were fresh and tasty. Main course of veal was amazing and perfectly cooked, duck was tender and not fatty, olive oil mash was to die for and the best chips we've ever tasted! The crumble was lovely with a decent jug of vanilla custard, only slight let down was the pineapple carpaccio, very tasty but the scoop of coconut sorbet was measly! We loved the ambience and great music, a relaxing dining experience made all the better by our wonderful waiter!04/04/2013 00:00:00Ramsey's PERFECTIONAMAZING! Service, style, food and may i say much better than Jamie Oliver's restaurants. The food crumbled in your mouth with flavours and texture. The wine contributed a lot to the meal with amazing recommendation from the friendly staff and list of recommended desserts.03/04/2013 00:00:00SuperbSuperb food, wine and drinks served by a very nice staff. Will definitely go again.03/04/2013 00:00:00Great duckOn a cold Sunday evening our group of seven couldn't decided which was the best main, the duck or the sea bream. The duck was pink and tender with crisp skin, the sea bream was cooked with tiny, flavoursome shrimp. Accompaniments included excellent honey-roasted carrots. Pud-wise, the generously-sized, eggy bread and butter pudding got a special mention.30/03/2013 00:00:00Always goodFood is of a consistently high standard and service is efficient and friendly.28/03/2013 00:00:00Good heart & healthy foodThis was my 2nd time at Bread Street Kitchen and it did not disappoint this time either. Great food, great atmosphere, attentive staff, OK prices and great drinks selection.27/03/2013 00:00:00I went there this week forI went there this week for my birthday and I was delighted by the whole experience.
I had the Duck breast with cherry sauce. The others had surf and turf which consisted of Lobster and steak, and Sea bream. I got to try these other dishes which were also really tasty and perfectly-cooked. We also ordered the Spiced honey carrots: which were divine!!
We drank an amazing Chillian wine too.
The service was exceptional.
I will return there soon, not just for a special occasion! :)
I HIGHLY recommend this place!26/03/2013 00:00:00Wonderful ambianceWe had Sunday lunch there and loved the food and the relaxed atmosphere. The female singer was excellent and not at all in you face. It's always a worry going somewhere nice in the City with kids but the staff were very welcoming and immediately provided crayons and paper. My only minor criticism is in the children's menu. The meatball dish was just that - 3 large meat balls with no accompaniment. I would have expected something or a least a nod from the waiter to us that something else might be required. Minor point that we easily rectified by sharing the kids meals around each other. It's always fun to share & the staff didn't care.24/03/2013 00:00:00bread street on a cold sundaythoroughly enjoyed our visit the atmosphere was very relaxed- service first class waiter very helpful, knowledgeable, friendly but not too friendly which helped to make you feel comfortable. the food was first class portions a good size drinks reasonable price would recommend anybody to give it a try24/03/2013 00:00:00Our overall experience atOur overall experience at The Bread Street Kitchen was excellent. The food and wine were exceptional, the service friendly and the restaurant a work of art.23/03/2013 00:00:00Excellent foodDiner was a excellent night at Bread St Kitchen. Meals are delicious. The card of wines is wide but a little bit expensive, but the wine steward gives good advice. Service is fast and good as well but could be better. We went there with my wife to celebrate an anniversary and I could had appreciate more privacy.23/03/2013 00:00:00First DateWent here on a first date. Perfect venue!! Fantastic service, great food and perfect ambience. MUST ask for the shared dessert platter!!! Truly amazing22/03/2013 00:00:00Delcious Chicken wingsReally enjoyed the ambiance- was cool, young and modern, but still sophisitcated and relaxed. Chicken wings were a standout. Everyone loved their respective dishes- particularly the pork dish! Delightful!21/03/2013 00:00:00Really GoodWhen I walked in I was quite overwhelmed with how big the restaurant was and with large restaurants the service and food can be a let down but not on this occassion. The service was very good and attentive and the food excellent. Really nice atmosphere and would return again21/03/2013 00:00:00Review fo Bread Street KitchenA warm greeting on arrival to the restaurant for lunch which was a good start. The restaurant decor is stunning and very open with the chefs on show for a bit of theatre. The atmosphere is busy and buzzy, but not too loud that you couldn't hear your dining companion speak. Food portions were fair but a bit mean with the bread rolls. I had pork belly and the crackling was cooked to perfection, Apple, blackberry and hazelnut crumble with vanilla custard was divine. The service was friendly and unobtrusive. Cocktail from the bar was strong with not too much ice to water it down and reasonably priced compared to some other establishments. I thoroughly enjoyed my lunch at Bread Street Kitchen abd hope to return again.19/03/2013 00:00:00Fantastic experience, food & serviceHi, Great night out, the venue is fantastic, servcie excellent and food outstanding would recommend to all16/03/2013 00:00:00Lone Business traveller experienceFrom the start, the service and the ambience, very good. I was travelling alone for business and this restaurant and the staff made me feel very comfortable. The salmon ceviche, the special, lamb shank and the cheese plate. All lived up to the Ramsey billing. Well. Done. Marlon and Anastasia made this evening even more special. Only thing i would question is the 2.50 pounds service charge and not letting me know that the still water was for a fee.16/03/2013 00:00:00perfectwe were surprised by the Restaurant, very spacious and decorated very urban. Despite the language barrier, the team has struggled to make our stay a pleasant time. We do not regret our choice.15/03/2013 00:00:00
