Brasserie Zedelperfect post theatreIt was a great place for post theatre as even late the atmosphere was buzzing. The menu choices were varied both in heaviness of dish and price and the food that we ordered was tasty and well balanced. The service was attentive and friendly without being pushy and we did not have to wait too long for the food to be ready.16/05/2013 00:00:00High quality, excellent valueGreat escargots and perfect steaks and frites. Perfect service,14/05/2013 00:00:00Dinner at ZedelLovely to see a packed out restaurant on a Tuesday evening, and one coping so admirably. Food, if not outstanding, was very good and particularly good value. The service was impeccable from start to end. Always an enjoyable experience to be had here.14/05/2013 00:00:00The whole ambience was amazing. The whole ambience was amazing. Walking down the stairs to wonderland. Food are french bistro type. All the mains we have are satisfying good.14/05/2013 00:00:00The carrot salad was lovely; The carrot salad was lovely; service was impeccable.11/05/2013 00:00:00A fabulous venue with greatA fabulous venue with great food and outstanding service. We had the fixed menus which were great value and delicious.08/05/2013 00:00:00Great value, good food, friendlyGreat value, good food, friendly efficient service.08/05/2013 00:00:00Time for a Change?I go to Brasserie Zedel alot. And love it. But I think its time for a change with the set dinner. For a year its been chopped carrot salad, and chopped steak and skinny fries. Delicious, but I'd like an alternative choice.07/05/2013 00:00:00Stunning in every wayGreat food, wonderful service and a stunning venue....excellent03/05/2013 00:00:00Fantastic!!Zedel was amazing! The interior was totally luxurious with it's huge space, high ceilings and marble columns.
The food was of an excellent quality and the staff were all wonderful.. We all had a fantastic evening and I will definately be coming back!03/05/2013 00:00:00Zedel Brasserie, PiccadillyI had lunch in this amazingly beautiful brasserie. It has a large spacious dining area, decorated in typical French brasserie style, with typical French fare on the menu. I had the confit of duck with puy lentils, faultless. My companion had the Beouf Bourguinon which was also delicious. Desserts did not disappoint. Lemon Tart was perfect with thin crusty pastry and a tart lemon filling. Ils Flottante is classic, beautifully soft meringue on a creamy custard. Service was quick and efficient - great for a work day lunch.02/05/2013 00:00:00Good Brasserie food in central LondThis is my second visit to Zedel and it was a thoroughly enjoyable occasion. The service is very professional,if a little slow perhaps and the food is excellent and very good value. We were dining with vegetarian friends and would like to have seen more vegetarian options on the menu but they seemed quite happy with 2 starters instead of a main course. I chose the prix fixe menu and wondered how often this is changed as it seemed to be the same as last Summer. Does it ever reflect seasonal things? But, all in all, Zedel is a fun place to eat and I shall be returning.29/04/2013 00:00:00worthyWe really enjoyed everything. This was my third time here and I really like it. The food is good, the place is nice and central and the price is reasonable.28/04/2013 00:00:00Simple and fresh affordableSimple and fresh affordable French cooking in the heart of London.28/04/2013 00:00:00Great night outAn excellent choice for a small group, friendly staff, varied menu & a buzzing ambience. If you can't read French there are even English menus!! French onion soup was the best one member of my group has ever had & the leek & potato soup was superb. Endless supplies of bread and a good choice of drinks. I will definitely be back!27/04/2013 00:00:00Buzzy atmosphere, good valueTook a friend from out of town for Saturday lunch. It's a big, impressive space, and was very busy, but not too noisy. The staff were really attentive and the food is great value for money. At lunchtime it was very brightly lit, so perhaps not the best choice for a romantic date, but I would definitely recommend it for everyone else.27/04/2013 00:00:00Highly recommended. On my second visit we were a party of 7. It certainly has the Wow factor when you enter, probably as good as the Criterion for the impact on entering. Following a drink at the bar we were given a nice table near the bar and could see all that was going on.
The service is very attentive with very nice staff. Prices varied from very reasonable to good value. All our food was good, some of it extremely good. Wines were very nice and not too expensive. We will be back, highly recommended. My favourite in the west end for the moment.26/04/2013 00:00:00I loved the relaxed feel ofI loved the relaxed feel of the brasserie - like being in a French Edwardian dining room being airy, bright and friendly. I definitely would return to explore the menu further. The escargot and steak hache were very good and the glaces/sorbet refreshing. We were unanimous in praise of the food served and its affordability. Service was well-timed and friendly, the wines and beer were are of a price that one would expect in an establihment of this type. My only criticism was the 12.50% service charge was included automatically (stated as discretionary). The service had ben exlemprary and we were very happy to pay. Should this not have been the case it may have caused some embarressment to all concerned to have it removed. Great meal.25/04/2013 00:00:00A good experienceThis was the second time I had been there. The first time was at lunch just after it had opened and I was very impressed with the venue, the service, and the standard of the food at that price. But I was have expected nothing less from the two who created it. Having eaten at the Ivy when they had that , and the Wolseley, we know we can expect style, and excellence in a great environment.25/04/2013 00:00:00GlamorousExcellent value restaurant with good device in a glamorous ambience.21/04/2013 00:00:00A great brasserieA great venue for a buzzy atmosphere in central London. Food was good and service very efficient, nearly too efficient.
Would we return.....most certainly yes!13/04/2013 00:00:00Underground FindWe went here on Saturday having read some other reviews for a pre theatre lunch. While the restaurant is large it soon filled up and was buzzing quitely. Decor is Art Deco and quite impressive. The menu is defnitiely French bistro. We had a great fish soup and confit de canard. My only gripe was the portion control on the pudding - two scoops of ice cream and a cream dollop does not make an ice cream sundae even if the chocolate sauce came in its own little jug. The wine was not as advertised but they made every effort to see if the earlier year was still available. Service was pleasant and quick - no long waits in between courses. Overall a good experience - we would go back but I won't be choosing the ice cream for pudding.13/04/2013 00:00:0040th BirthdayMy partner and myself had a wonderfull time at your restaurant......You made that day very special for him....A big thanks to Margaret(an irish lady) and michael(our polish waiter)they were excellent!!!!!!
A very well done to both of them......
We`ll visit you again very soon......13/04/2013 00:00:00Twice in two weeksOnce for an old-mates lunch (six), once for a more intimate dinner (three), and both time really good, efficient service and quality food. The Formule is excellent value. The room is gorgeous, large and at the same time intimate. The American Bar next to the restaurant is also a very fine place to gather before dinner and enjoy a cocktail. London needs more venues like this with its reasonable prices.08/04/2013 00:00:00the restaurant is in the basementthe restaurant is in the basement of what was the Regents Palace Hotel - wonderful high ceilings and ornate decor. as a result you can actually hear what your dining companions are saying unlike many venus. excellent location for shaftesbury avenue theatres or as somewhere to eat after an exhausting morning shopping. there is also an american bar/caberet venue and upstairs a small cafe. access to the basement is by stairs or a lift. excellent ladies loos - each with its own basin.08/04/2013 00:00:00Zedel WOW!What a fantastic place, we transformed back to a different more glamorous era of glitz and glamour. We all want to come back and indulge a show in The American Bar. Food, service, ambience o our visit was all excellent, go and wallow in it's glory. WOW factor 9/10!07/04/2013 00:00:00Three of us dined at BrasserieThree of us dined at Brasserie Zedel. Except for the lack of windows! I loved the Brasserie! The food was excellent value, tasty, with outstanding service. They have everything right, including a perfect creme brule!07/04/2013 00:00:00An excellent choice for theAn excellent choice for the centre of the city. Very good food, very knowledgeable and well-trained staff. The only thing is that the restaurant is too bright during the day (I'm told the lights get dimmed after 6pm, which would help make it more intimate, as it is a large place). Would definitely recommend for a variety of occasions.07/04/2013 00:00:00Very good meal at what isVery good meal at what is one of the most beautiful dining rooms in London. The buzz is wonderful and we really enjoyed the ambiance of the place. The food was excellent value and the staff attentive and looked after us very well.07/04/2013 00:00:00Fine for a babyI took my 10 month old son to meet a friend for lunch. All staff very friendly, high chair provided and he was well looked after. Cooking was good quality - very impressed with champagne chicken for main course - would have like a couple more chocolate options on the dessert menu!06/04/2013 00:00:00Lunch with friendsAnother excellent meal at Zedel. We went for lunch with friends on a snowy April day and as usual received a warm welcome. Service was excellent and all our food was lovely. We had the duck, plaice, seafood vol au vent and the tripe sausage and all were happy with the choices. Starters also excellent. No room for dessert but lovely coffee. As I've said before we will return!04/04/2013 00:00:00GreatReally enjoyed it, interesting menu and great decor. The food was enjoyable and good value. Would recommend.03/04/2013 00:00:00Dining for my party of 8 wasDining for my party of 8 was a very pleasant experience. The food was excellent and the service efficient and pleasing with no suggestion of being hurried. Serene elegance prevailed and I would be happy to go again.03/04/2013 00:00:00Really good service - friendly,Really good service - friendly, speedy and not obtrusive. Main course sea bream was fresh, hot, beaurtifuly cooked and tasty. The Tuesday plat du jour escalope porc cordon bleu with wonderful fluffy, craeamy mashed potato was excellent. Well priced wine, coffee and petit fours. All together a very good, well priced dining experience in a beautiful setting.02/04/2013 00:00:00Very good value for priceThe food is very good, the waiters are really kind, the ambience is nice and the price are reasonable.31/03/2013 00:00:00French valueGreat location and outstanding value. Menu has plenty of options to suit all. French brassieres in London are normally over priced and leave u flat experience, but not here.31/03/2013 00:00:00An absolutely superb restaurantAn absolutely superb restaurant in the heart of London. I have now been twice and been very impressed on both occassions. I have had Steak Onglet and the Fish dish (stew like). Amazing starters as well and you could easily be paying a lot more than you do here. Can't fault it in the slightest.27/03/2013 00:00:00French glamourThis restaurant has a great buzz in a beautiful 20's style dining room. Classic French bistro food and outstanding and friendly service.26/03/2013 00:00:00Great food and ambienceThis was our second time and yet again a great experience. The Bar Americain is well worth a visit before dinner and gets busy. However, the Maitre'd is an absolute star and really took care of us. Main restaurant has a great atmosphere and food great quality and value. Only dip was the service - our friend was brought the wrong soup and it was a bit slow due to the busyness of the restaurant26/03/2013 00:00:00Great value and good foodIt was a lot bigger than I thought, and the ambience was lovely, quick service and a menu with lots of options.25/03/2013 00:00:00Excellent foodI visited with three friends on 23rd March and really had a superb meal and our waiter was so helpful. Will visit again this was my third trip. Steaks were perfectly good and so flavoursome. Puds were divine.23/03/2013 00:00:00A wonderful place! My friendsA wonderful place! My friends and I loved it - we had a pre-theatre meal.
The Art Deco style really added to the ambience.
Can't wait to go back with my husband.23/03/2013 00:00:00Late lunch at ZedelOur third visit to Zedel and again an excellent experience. We arrived early and had a drink at the bar but they came and found us on time and we had a lovely table in the middle section on a banquette in the corner. I had their prix fixe ( a grated carrot salad and then steak hache) amazing value and really tasty whilst my husband had choucroute alsacienne which was also very good. House red wine was fine. We will definitely return.21/03/2013 00:00:00Decline but no fallAn excellent ambience and most gracious service. The food follows the traditional pattern of French fair in the UK, i.e., great first course, perfectly adequate main course, somewhat disappointing dessert. But I would be happy to try again!21/03/2013 00:00:00hidden gemfamily group of 5 for late Sunday lunch. Wasn't a problem that several of us were a little late due to transport delays, we had a 2 hour time slot but there was no rush to move us out. Very busy when we arrived but tables well spaced in the beautiful room. Friendly helpful/knowledgeable waiters. Food really good and several options available for vegetarian (separate menu) of the party. good access for disabled customers. Good value for central London. We intend to return.17/03/2013 00:00:00Simply FantasticMy second trip to Zedel, with many more to come. Incredible value, good-sized portions and a great all-round atmosphere and service. The bread and butter is delish, cheap cocktails and the sort of place you can get settled in and have a good time. Hugely enjoyable and very highly recommended.16/03/2013 00:00:00Brasserie ZedelAs soon as you would in the door you realise the experience is going to be something different. We loved the way the bar, restaurant, foyer and cabaret areas are all "themed". It feels like you are in Paris rather than Piccadilly. The menu is very inventive and the food was wonderful. The value offered by the fixed price and special menus is outstanding. The service was professional. The restaurant has a great atmosphere. This is an experience not to miss.15/03/2013 00:00:00now a familiar favouriteHad a meet-up with old friends we are not able regularly to see over lunch at Brasserie Zedel. Very full and buzzy but not so noisy one could not have a conversation. Prix fixe good food at a value price. Classy service. A fun place to go.14/03/2013 00:00:00A touch of Paris in PiccadillyBack to Zedel again, this time to meet a friend for an early dinner. Even after 6 visits, walking down the stairs into the art deco restaurant still feels glamorous. Food and service are relaxed and delightful and you will not find better value for money in such an opulent setting anywhere else in the West End. If you can, have pre- or post-dinner drinks in the restaurant's own bar - much more reasonably priced than adjoining Bar Americaine. Avoid 8:00-9:00pm dinner slot and you will receive attentive, friendly service at a pace that suits your requirements. However, don't expect to keep your table for the whole evening if you dine before 8:30 as this restaurant relies on turning tables often. Brasserie style food is consistently good.11/03/2013 00:00:00Gorgeous food in lush surroundingsHad a lovely meal here before going to see Simply Barbra in Crazy Croqs. A group if 3 with 2 courses each and a bottle of wine and a bottle of water was just over £60 - good value. Everything was perfect - surroundings, food, drink and service. However, sorry to complain, on removing our starters when finished, I think we were forgotten about! We had to wait over half an hour for our main courses to arrive; this wouldn't have been noticed until we saw other tables getting their starters AND their main courses in the same time frame. Probably just a blip on their side, as the rest of the service and experience was perfect.11/03/2013 00:00:00
