Boulevard BrasserieGreat Sunday LunchMy daughter and I decided to Sunday lunch here before a bit of shopping in the Covent Garden Area. We both had the Salmon starter and Roast Chicken from the set menu and Roquefort and Crackers from the dessert menu with an extra sticky toffee pudding which was sublime.
This was a great sunday lunch stop the bellini was lovely the food was wholesome and tasy. The service was relaxed but excellent the place had a friendly buzz without being to 'stand on ceremony'. We would both definately go again19/05/2013 00:00:00great pre-theatre grubFirst to note: fabulously positioned for quite a few theatres (we were off to see the Lion King on this occasion).
Very enjoyable food, good value with 25% off food - about £110 incl. service for three of us (3 courses, wine and champagne to start). Crab starter and boeuf main were both excellent, as was the cheese board - beautiful selection of comte, st maure, goat's etc with a delightful fig jelly.
Our waiter was very friendly and gave useful advice when asked. Did not rush us at all, we were there over two hours.
Thoroughly recommended.19/05/2013 00:00:00A happy customerWith such great service and delicious food at very reasonable prices, I would definitely recommend this restaurant.18/05/2013 00:00:00Great ValueThis is a lovely restaurant with great service. I went with friends and enjoyed the top table 3 course menu, which we were delighted to see had a lot of the same menu choices as their main menu. The food was delicious and staff were very helpful and did not rush us even though there is normally a 2 hour window for the table. I would definitely go back.17/05/2013 00:00:00Another nice mealFriendly helpful service as always. Excellent food and good value for money from the pre-theatre menu.17/05/2013 00:00:00Delicious FoodGreat value cocktail downstairs before a really delicious meal. Great service too. Lovely, friendly, helpful staff. Will go back!16/05/2013 00:00:00Only one moan...I have used this restaurant several times and have always been pleased, however on the last three occasions each time I have been presented with the bill, I have had to return it as it had not had the TopTable discount entered or deducted from the bill, it has always been corrected and returned with the discount deducted, but it would be so much nicer had this not have happened, especially on three separate visits.
Apart from this, I always enjoy bringing friends to this restaurant.15/05/2013 00:00:00This pre-dinner table wasThis pre-dinner table was booked at really short notice, we arrived ten minutes late but the staff were so accommodating. Delicious meal and we weren't hurried along by the staff at all. We will definitely recommend Boulevard Brasserie and Top Table to our friends11/05/2013 00:00:00GOOD, QUICK SERVICE, NICE FOODa nice place to eat before the theatre as well located with good food, nice ambience and quick service, all good value except the side salad - £3.50 for a small bowlful11/05/2013 00:00:00Boulevard BrasserieWe had a lovely lunch here. Two courses for 12.95 was outstanding value, although the drinks (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic) were slightly overpriced and pushed up the bill quite a bit. The ambience was lovely and relaxed and consequently we lingered for quite a bit, and we weren't hurried along by the very nice staff at all. I would return.10/05/2013 00:00:00Great deals, lovely food!!Have been to this restaurant 3 times, each time bringing different friends to try it out. Every time I choose something different on the menu and the food always exceeds itself. Downstairs in the cocktail bar/restaurant there is a great atmosphere and always get great service from the staff. Would highly recommend the place.10/05/2013 00:00:00great experienceFood was lovely- we went for 2 courses + proseccio for 17.50 which seemed good value, servicewas attentive, good atmosphere - would definitely recommend!09/05/2013 00:00:00Great pre theatre dinnerAnother fantastic dinner with perfect timing and excellent service from the team at Boulevard Brasserie. My friend had the salmon fish cake and salmon steak for main and I had the whiskey cured salmon and wild mushroom risotto. All perfectly cooked and delivered in time for the theatre. Another great thing is their offer of wines in carafe quantity. Perfect for pre-theatre with the Kir Royal-included top table option,09/05/2013 00:00:00A great little findExcellent food, good value and a really nice atmosphere. We had a great evening.08/05/2013 00:00:00Ideal pre-theatreWe had the toptable special deal of 2 set courses and a glass of kir royal for £17.50 each. Duck confit and beef bourgignon mains were excellent, the smoked salmon starter fine but nothing special. Service was swift, efficient and very friendly. We were in and out easily within an hour without being being rushed at all. With another glass of wine and one pudding, our bill for two was less than £50 including service. Just what we were looking for pre-theatre and we will return.08/05/2013 00:00:00Welcoming, warm and friendlyI visited Boulevard Brasserie with a friend for a quick meal before the theatre. We had just an hour and a half to eat two courses and we utilised the 25% off food offer.
We told the staff beforehand that we had little time to eat, and they took this fully on board and we managed two courses each with water and a cocktail, all comfortably within the time we had. We both had the Foie Gras as the starter choosing to follow with Tiger Prawns and Duck Confit. All excellent and flavorsome.
Although the tables were quite close together and the restaurant was very cozy, the atmosphere was fantastic - no loud people - and we had a wonderful chat, as did the ladies next to us. The service was exemplary and the bill came to just £57 with the offer.08/05/2013 00:00:00Lovely meal, and a great waiter.Lovely meal, and a great waiter. There was a really wide choice and the food was superb. The staff were friendly and helpful. We would definitely go again.03/05/2013 00:00:00One to add to the listI had never heard of this restaurant but decided to give it a try and was not disappointed. Entering the restaurant is like walking into a bistro in Paris with the large window at the front, awning, tables and chairs outside to the almost art deco interior.
The service was excellent and we had the three courses with a glass of kir royale for £20. The food was superb, portions just the right size for three courses. The wine list was very good and we had a bottle of the house merlot for £15. This was an excellent choice for a house red, light and fruity.
Overall I highly recommend this restaurant and will definately be going back!02/05/2013 00:00:00Perfect birthday mealA trip to the restaurant meant a perfect birthday meal. We had three courses and a cocktail for £22.50, which was great value. The food was of a very high standard, service was impeccable and we couldn't have asked for a more relaxed and enjoyable evening.30/04/2013 00:00:00Ideal pre-theatre dinnerThe Boulevard Brasserie is a great restaurant for pre-theatre eating. The staff are efficient and friendly and ensure everything happens quickly but without fuss or rushing. In a party of 4 there was something on the menu to appeal to everyone. The serving of moules frittes was enormous! Our meal at the brasserie certainly enhanced our evening at the theatre.29/04/2013 00:00:00We really enjoyed the mealWe really enjoyed the meal especially the Kia Royal!27/04/2013 00:00:00Great atmosphere, great foodWe went to Boulevard Brasserie on the occasion of our 25th wedding anniversary, after a show. Firstly, the welcome was very nice, the service attention just right and the food exceptional. There is no doubt that we will return.27/04/2013 00:00:00Friendly French RestaurantTypical French Brasserire Food, I recommend the Beef Bourginion and mash, Ideal for a pre theatre supper lively atmosphere very friendly27/04/2013 00:00:00PerfectWe had made a reservation for a pre-theatre meal. We arrived half an hour late courtesy of British Rail. However, the staff were very accommodating and although busy they were attentive and made sure we were able to eat without a rush or a fuss before the theatre. I felt the choice was good, the food was cooked well and nicely presented. We couldn't have asked for more. I would definitely go there again.27/04/2013 00:00:00second visitWe took friends this time and were met with a warm welcome, very good menu and wine and excellent service. They loved it. It is ideal for a meal before a show and the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. Great place for couples or dining with friends. Food is good quality.26/04/2013 00:00:00Great value dining in Covent GardenAnother great lunch with friends at the ever-efficient and ever-good Boulevard Brasserie. This really is the best value bistro-style place in Covent Garden and the staff are really great. Our New Zealand friends were really impressed with the food, service, kir royal and value from the Top Table deal here.24/04/2013 00:00:00Parisian FavouriteThis is now my staple choice for a sensible, inexpensive fun night out with friends in Central London. The restaurant remains true to its Parisian roots; avoiding much in the way of commercialisation (read not overly touristy). The menu has many of the French classics, a host of decent wines by the glass/carafe (although the selection of reds is broader than the whites, in my view) and a good energy (vibe / friendly noise). With the top table or pre-theatre menu, you will struggle to spend more than £25 or so on the food. Lovely, friendly staff, many of whom have been with the restaurant for some time.24/04/2013 00:00:00Great value at Boulevard brasserieBoulevard Brasserie continues to provide good food, at an excellent price, in attractive surroundings, served by friendly staff, in a tourist trap! I dont know how they do it, but I am very glad they do. Great place plonk in the middle of Covent Garden.23/04/2013 00:00:00Nice early evening meal inNice early evening meal in Covent Garden. Staff are a bit slow sometimes but nothing major.I would advise the pate and the cod.20/04/2013 00:00:00Dinner after concertThe staff were friendly and efficient, the food well prepared and tasty. Special offer was good quality and good value, and allowed enough choice. Busy, and on the noisy side, but still possible to have a quiet conversation, and to be home in reasonable time.18/04/2013 00:00:00Enjoyable mealAn evening meal with four friends. We had an enjoyable evening in pleasant surroundings. The food was excellent and I could not fault the service. We were a bit cramped so perhaps this restaurant is more suitable for couples but that's my only complaint.18/04/2013 00:00:00Lovely people and food!Customer service is very important to me and am always delighted to be made so welcome by the staff at Boulevard Brasserie. I've been here a few times with various friends and they always comment on how friendly and professional the staff are here. The food is really tasty and the Sunday lunch is good value in the middle of busy London. I love the art deco style of this restaurant too. Recommended!14/04/2013 00:00:00Great quick lunchI booked a table for 5 people for a pre-theatre lunch. The food was served quickly and it was delicious. The staff were attentive. It was my Dad's birthday and they made a nice fuss of him. It was just what we were after.14/04/2013 00:00:00the boulevard brasserie excellentWe had Sunday lunch at the Boulevard Brasserie with a group of friends. It was a sunny afternoon, our table was upstairs by the window. The shutters were opened and the sun was shining in. Immediately we all felt we were in France. What a lovely atmosphere. We had the 50% off the food Toptable deal and it was really good. Great choice of menu and it all tasted great too. House wine was good both red and white. Excellent coffee too. Can't comment on desserts as we were all too full to have one. If you would like an informal meal with good food and delightful staff you must try the Boulevard Brasserie.14/04/2013 00:00:00£17.50 two course and kir£17.50 two course and kir royal menu is excellent value for money. The salmon for main and goats cheese starter were well thought out, complimentary flavours. This is a busy restaurant with a very social vibe, and the service is excellent. We were going to the theatre afterwards, and the service was very prompt between courses, without being overwhelming. They deserved the 12.5% tip included on the bill.13/04/2013 00:00:00Highly recommendedOur first visit to the Boulevard Brasserie. We selected based on other previous reviews and we are pleased we did. Chose the 'special' 3 course menu with Kir Royal for £22 - and was pleasantly surprised by the good selection on offer from the menu including a nice minute steak. Atmoshpere was very pleasant and service was attentive but not intrusive - just right. Perfect for dining with friends for a catch up natter or an evening out for couples. Would recommend and look forward to visiting again next time we are in London.13/04/2013 00:00:00Excellent service and ambienceWent again, and place does not disappoint, try the duck confit, really good!13/04/2013 00:00:00Great offerWent for a pre theatre dinner, the service was really good and quick. When we arrived we asked if the booking could be moved to later, and this was done within 15 minutes of the new time we had requested. The restaurant was full and had a good atmosphere. We decided to wait for our friend with some happy hour cocktails downstairs. The mixologist was extremely knowledgeable and mixed some fabulous cocktails.
