Diner Reviews
  • "Good portions of food and good attentive service but not overbearing. 50% offer makes the meal outstanding value. Will probably use again. Excellent venue for pre theatre I would think."

  • "A good Moules offering but not so good on the duck confit or Boeuf main course. Waiter even managed to spill the '11 Malbec on his first pour of the evening! However, with a 25% on gourmet society card, it was a value-for-money evening meal."

  • "Going to the restaurant was a bit like going to a French provincial restaurant . The waiting staff was very attentive and not pushy. Food was nicely cooked and presented . Portions were quite generous."

  • "My husband and I had a very nice meal in Boulevard Brasserie recently. The service was very efficient and friendly. There was plenty of choice on the menu and the wines were very reasonably priced. Would recommend."

  • "We keep trying the TopTable restaurants but to date had only had one really good experience. However, Boulevard Brasserie made it 2! The restaurant was a little noisy early on-we'd booked for 7.30 to miss the pre-theatre crowd-but less so later. Food was great although my friend got served the wrong starter. Service was very good, attentive but not annoying. Would definitely go back. Good value for money with the 50% offer. House wine was also very good."

  • "I been to Boulevard Brasserie a few times. Each time does not disappoint. Good food and service. Even better with TopTable offer. Will be back soon."

  • "I have dined at the Boulevard Brasserie many times, food varied choice but the menu stays almost the same between visits and is consistently good, they had a confusing array of offers available which made it good value, we ate the top table 50% off food from the a la carte menu. Starters were good, attractively served, and then we all chose the duck confit which was excellent and a large portion size. A word of warning, they are spread out over 3 floors, please request a ground floor table if anyone has limited mobility. The food is typical French Brasserie style food, well cooked , well presented and our service charming even though we did not get the table I had requested when making the booking."

  • "We wanted a place where we can relax and forget about daily troubles. We definitely got that. Food was amazing, service attentive, without being on top of you all the time."

  • "Having visited the Boulevard Brasserie for a post-theatre meal in February, and having been very impressed, we returned on a Friday evening with friends in early April and hoped that our recommendation would not disappoint. We dined off the special '3 courses and a Kir Royale' menu and it proved to be not only good value, but a really lovely meal. All of us agreed that the food, ambience and service (our waiter, Gabriel was spot on) were excellent. Would highly recommend."

  • "Food was very good, as was the friendly service. We had a set menu which was very good value for money. Would definitely go back; wouldn't hesitate to recommend."

  • "We went here before seeing the Bodyguard at the Adelphi theatre. We had booked the 3 courses with kir royale offer. We sat upstairs near the doors as it was a nice warm day. Atmosphere was relaxed although staff were attentive. The drinks and food came in good time. There was a good choice of food. Would definitely recommend and fine there again."

  • "We have been to the Boulevard Brasserie a few times now and enjoyed it every time. Style of food is French Country style rather so food and servings are hearty. Service is friendly and efficient."

  • "Five of us dined here Wednesday evening on the 50% off offer on al la carte menu. The food was superb and we had great service. The restaurant was very busy, nice buzzing atmosphere and we would definitely recommend it."

  • "Expensivde at full price (paying for the location) but great value with 50% off. Does what it states - decent french food in a bistro style setting. Only complaint is the restaurant was extremely hot!"
    dined on 18/02/2014
  • "Great food, good service from a waiter with a lovely sense of humour. Only thing is that this is such a buzzy venue that it was slightly difficult sometimes to hear all that my guest was saying - perhaps I'm getting old!"
    dined on 09/04/2014
  • "We were pre Theatre special with a Kir and the service was swift and eficient as well as being delicious. The service was friendly and we would certainly go again both for pre Theatre dinner and to enjoy a meal without a deadline."

  • "Have been to this restaurant a few times and it never disappoints. Lovely food, great service, highly recommended."

  • "This is the second time we had visited Boulevard Brasserie and have really enjoyed it both times. We are so impressed by the excellent standard of the food, and fantastic value. The service has also been amazing both times, the first time we were in a rush to get to a theatre booking and they managed to get 3 courses out to us in under an hour. We'll definitely be going back here!"
    dined on 29/03/2014
  • "Booked this restaurant for a pre-theatre meal with the 50% off offer. Amazing value, food was fantastic and service was great! Great intimate romantic restaurant, will definitely be coming back again"

  • "Everything was perfect with the food and service. However, it was very stuffy and quite warm. I did ask for the aircon to be switched on but it wasn't very effective."

  • "Went here with my boyfriend last Tuesday evening with 50% off food offer and we really enjoyed ourselves. Food was great (shared calamari and salad for starters and had duck and tuna steak as main course). Portions were big so didn't really need to order a side with the fish. With 50% off it was great value and our waitress was friendly and attentive. Would definitely return."

  • "as part of mothers 90th birthday/weekend away in London, Saturday lunch was taken at the Boulevard Brasserie. As we knew we were going to be in Covent Garden, this restaurant was chosen for its close proximity to the central halls. The staff were excellent, and the food was superb, they even managed to organise a small birthday treat for mother, without prompting and with only 30 minutes notice. Will certainly visit again"

  • "Our whole dining experience here was excellent. The food was delicious, plentiful, good value & very nicely presented. I can recommend the Duck. The offers available were all good & we opted for the 50% off te food. I can honestly say, it was plentiful & excellent vlaue for money. My daughter & I visited here for a pre theatre meal. The staff were very attentive & on the ball, being aware of our time limit. I wold definitely go back here again."

  • "I have dined here with friends on many occasions and always been very satisfied. However, this time, although the staff were excellent as usual,I wasn't so satisfied with my dinner.....I should add that my two colleagues were totally satisfied but my chicken, which I had never tried before in this restaurant, was very dry and the chips were soggy. Some problems this time but it wont stop me going back as I'm sure that this was a temporary blip."
    dined on 07/04/2014
  • "We had a good meal, that was reasonably priced, here after the theatre and would recommend this restaurant. The waiters were very pleasant and attentive."

  • "Four of us dined at Boulevard Brasserie on Fri 28th March and had the offer of 3 courses and a glass of Kir Royale for £22.50. This proved to be excellent value! There was large glass of Kir Royale before our starter - I thoroughly enjoyed my Brie in filo pastry and the soup apparently was delicious. My husband and I then had the Beef Bourgignon which was amazing: lots of lovely flavours including lardons and beautifully smooth mash to accompany it. We finished with Creme Brulee which again was totally indulgent. Service was attentive but not intrusive. I would thoroughly recommend this restaurant for its quality of food and the fact that they have an offer like this available on a Fri and Sat night"

  • "We booked the Sunday lunch 3 courses + Bellini at q short notice and so didn't have sky high expectations, The food was very good and plentiful but what warranted the 5 stars was the service. The staff were without exception friendly, helpful and accommodating. Out waiter (upstairs, dark hair, cheeky...) was brilliant and bags of fun and could obviously tell that it was ok and actually welcomed by us (he was more formal with other tables). We emerged well fed, well watered, and well entertained vowing to return. Well done!"

  • "I have eaten here many times and I am never disappointed."

  • "A great location for pre theatre supper and a good atmosphere, if you like a traditional French bistro. But, the food wasn't good. The menu offered a good range of bistro favourites but the soups - both the fish soup and the onion soup were very thick, very brown and very salty. The casseroles suffered from the same problem- over stewed and very dark. There were no shallots in the boeuf bourginon and no taste of red wine. The duck confit also lacked a freshly cooked taste. So, no, we wouldn't return to Boulevard Brasserie or recommend it."

  • "A group of 8 of us met for a birthday celebration. We found most of the staff very helpful and friendly and they identified the birthday person and brought a free cocktail without being asked. The menu was sufficiently diverse to please the wide range of taste in the group. The portions were very generous and the speed of service about right for a leisurely meal. The booking confirmation had made clear that we only had the table for 2 hours but when we arrived we were told that we had the table for the rest of the evening so were able to have a leisurely cocktail before going to our table. We particularly liked the warm ambience of the restaurant."

  • "We ate prior to watching Charlie and the Chocolate factory and this restaurant is literally round the corner from the Theatre Royal. The service was excellent and the food even better. We had the pre-show set menu which had a good choice on all courses and everyone cleared their plates. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants excellent food at reasonable prices."

  • "This a regular for us. A traditional French brasserie in central London, not sullied by tourist over-pricing, bad service and average ingredients. The menu is classic French fare ... although your favourites ... French onion soup, moules marinieres, duck confit and their piece de resistance the Boeuf Bourguignon which is succulent and powerful. With a 50% top table discount, friendly service and good vibe ... it is hard not to like Boulevard Brasserie."
    dined on 27/03/2014
  • "Great place to eat! Attentive staff & very generous portions. The pork belly which was a little bit dry but still delicious. The lemon and ginger cheesecake which was absolutely delicious and not too heavy after a large meal. Food was well presented. Mothers with young babies be aware the space inside is small so fold up the pram for hassle-free experience."
    dined on 06/04/2014
  • "Overall an excellent dining experience particularly so with the Top Table special offer. All four of us were happy with the high level of cuisine although one of the party expressed the view that too much salt was used in the duck confit. The service is excellent and attentive. The venue is highly reommended."

  • "6 for lunch 14.30 on 27 March 2014 Had a great time in the raised booth area with mirror backing. Just have to watch your step if you are facing the mirror and going to leave the table. Food was enjoyed by all on 50% off deal. The mushroom risotto needed more sauce, should have asked for it creamier. House red and white drinkable. Left at 18.30, an enjoyable long lunch. The staff were very helpful and attentive."
    dined on 27/03/2014
  • "We dined at the Boulevard Brasserie after a matinee performance. It was made clear that we had a two hour dining slot which was plenty of time and it was nice that no-one was trying to rush us out. We opted for the 50% off a la carte option and were really spoilt for choice. My friend and I ordered different courses and each one was delicious. The portion sizes were very generous too. The waiting staff were extremely pleasant, knowledgeable and attentive. I shall certainly visit here again."

  • "Boulevard Brasserie is my go-to solution every time when I need somewhere elegant yet casual for a dinner with friends. The staff are attentive, the food is always good and the wine options not extortionate. Their set menu or the toptable 50% deal (which we used on this occasion) makes a meal there an absolute bargain. We paid less than £30 a head for two courses each with loads of extra bread and sides, and two bottles of wine between us. I do think without a deal it's probably a little pricy, as the food is nothing to really rave about, but for a reliable, good quality dining experience in a part of town that can so often be tourist focused and hit and miss, you can't go wrong. Highly recommended every time."

  • "Been here a few times in the past, quite simply it is excellent value and even better with a special offer, this time it was 50% off the food."

  • "Fantastic service - couldn't have been better. Very good value with Toptable offer"

  • "I love this delightfully traditional French brasserie, we could have been in Paris! Excellent, old fashioned attentive service, charming dining room with ideal ambiance. The food was exceptional, an excellent choice of vegetarian dishes for my companion which was one of the main reasons for choosing this restaurant. Our salad starters made with very fresh, tasty ingredients, juicy black olives and sweet tomatoes. My sea bass main was perfectly cooked with simple delicious green beans, cherry tomatoes and black olive/basil pesto, the vegetable sweet potato, beetroot, spinach & pine nut casserole with rice was a delicately balanced combination of flavours, sublime! Highly recommended, excellent value and will certainly go again."
