Diner Reviews
  • "Our first evening meal in St Helier, Jersey was at Bohemia Restaurant there and the experience was excellent. The service throughout the evening was good. We started with drinks at the bar and then adjourned for the meal. We had the seafood selection, which was both tasty and sumptuous. Although the place was busy that evening, the service was great ... would recommend, although the cost may be on the higher end. "

  • "Food fantastic but portions very small ! There must be a way of combining good quality food without letting people out still hungry after a 3 course meal."

  • "Our dining experience at Bohemia was brilliant. The food was excellent and we really liked the smoked salt butter and little bags of warm freshly baked break buns. It was my birthday and I have a lovely time. The front of house service was faultless. Will recommend this restaurant to family and friends who visit Jersey."

  • "I booked on a quiet midweek lunch, only 3 or 4 other tables in, but it still had a nice ambience. The set lunch was excellent value and I enjoyed 3 first rate courses along with matching wines suggested by the sommelier. As a vegetarian the options were limited on the set menu, but there is a full tasting menu available and the chef prepared something especially for me. There were 2 amuse bouches and a pre dessert, all of which were delicious. The staff are very friendly and efficient too. Well worthy of their Michelin star!"

  • "We've been eating at Bohemia for the last 8 years or so and it has always been excellent, however this last visit was outstanding, even for them. The food was on another level - my husband and I were still talking about it most of the next day. Whilst it's not the cheapest place to have dinner, it's most definitely not a case of style over substance."

  • "As our first experience of a Michelin star restaurant I'm not sure it can get much better than Bohemia. We ate from the classic menu, although the main my wife chose was from the vegetarian menu, every mouthful was an unforgettable experience. The Scallop, Celeriac, Apple, Smoked Eel & Truffle starter was a triumph, appetisers, two amuse bouche and pre dessert all worked amazingly with our main courses and as if that wasn't enough the dessert, coffee and treats left us happy and probably spoilt for any other restaurant. The service was friendly, efficient and relaxed. It may not be the first choice for anyone more interested in the setting than the quality and skill of the team who craft the menu but I think this is a must visit in Jersey."

  • "Avoid at all costs, and it really will cost you! What was supposed to be a real treat for my partners 50th Birthday was actually an absolute disaster! The service was rude and incompetent, right from our arrival we weren't welcomed. The food was ridiculous tiny portions, one course was ONE PRAWN! The worst meal ever finished of with the Police being called by the waiter! Actually, The Policeman was the only person to be polite to us in there all night. What an awful way to treat people on such a special occasion. The night was ruined and to make sure you are not treated so badly by this place AVOID IT AT ALL COSTS!!! Despite emailing and writing to the Manager 2 weeks ago we still haven't had a reply. Just how rude can they be!"

  • "My partner had arranged a trip to jersey as a birthday gift to me and this included a meal at Bohemia. I cannot express in words how much I enjoyed the food, ambiance and service at this very fine restaurant. I am not often overwhelmed by dining experiences but this truly blew me away. If we ever go back to jersey I will definitely book a table!!"

  • "The food is amazing !!! Very tasty, créative . Every meal is à surprise ... Surprise of textures , subtile melting of tastes . Wonderful ! Thé wine menu is fantastic. Thé only bad point is thé restaurant himself which is not at thé Level of thé food ( thé floor is cold and banal) . Not enough warmy place even if thé Wallis are on Wood ."

  • "The Bohemia Restaurant is hands down the best restaurant that my partner an I have been too, this includes many nice venues home and abroad. From the moment we arrived we were very well looked after and the food was simply perfect. I had booked the venue for our engagement meal and we couldn't have been happier with our choice. Of course the veune is slightly more expensive than your 'normal' restaurant but you get what you pay for in this day and age and I'm so glad we spent that bit extra. The seven courses (not to mention the Amuse-bouche) were put together in a very creative a tasteful manner, as well you'd expect from a Michelin Star venue but the service went that little bit further with the staffs attention to detail."

  • "I booked at Bohemia expecting a very good meal, and we were not disappointed! The tasting menu brings together a wide variety of foods (and wine if you choose) in such fascinating combinations. Service was some of the best I’ve experienced. Expensive in absolute terms, but decent value in relative terms. Highly recommended."
    dined on 04/01/2014
  • "Fine dining experience. Beautiful tasting menu, only let down by communication between front of house and kitchen, after I twice warned of an allergy and two separate courses were served ignoring that advice. Well worth a trip, but allergy sufferers beware !"

  • "Exceptional service and food that really did sing! Every bit of a Michelin Star restaurant. Do NOT miss out!"

  • "On a three day trip, we "did" the three Michelin starred restaurants (OK there's a fourth now). Of them all this was to us the best for food. We did book early on a Friday night when the bar was full of drinkers and loud. This was not overpowering - more of a buzz - but if you like it quieter go later (as some of the foodie locals had suggested)."

  • "Incredible food. Thoughtful wine pairings. Impeccable service. I will definitely return."

  • "Beautiful looking dishes, wonderful taste, texture and freshest of produce is unbelievable, Amazing experience and great value for money!"
    dined on 16/10/2013
  • "We found the menu extremely limited - a la carte only 3 choices. Whilst it was probably a genuine error on their part we were initially charged for 4 bottles of wine when we had only had 3 which is a big difference at £50 a bottle! With the amount of excellent restaurants in Jersey we certainly won't be rushing back."
    dined on 12/10/2013
  • "a food experience that you will enjoy and never regret ,a dinning journey that has and will never bring anything but pleasure to the taste buds .(loved every minute)"

  • "Our reservation was for 8.30pm and we were eventually shown to our table at 9.45pm. By 11.00pm we had only had 3 courses of a 8 course tasting menu. At this point we spoke to the manager and told him the service was unacceptably slow and we said we were not prepared to continue with the meal. The manager agreed that we would not have to pay anything and we left. The restaurant was also very noisy and it was difficult to hold a conversation without talking very loudly. During out time at Bohemia we noted a number of other diners complaining about the slowness of the service and the noise. It was clear that the kitchen could not cope with the number of covers. Will never return!"

  • "Flew over to Jersey to see the rugby and instead of staying over thought we'd spend the money that we would have used for accommodation on a good meal. And what a good decision. Decided to have the Saturday lunch menu, as there no way to try the Tasting menus in the time available. Great food, well presented and superb value for money. Wines were reasonably priced and the service was attentive but not intrusive."
    dined on 28/09/2013
  • "A lovely evening with fantastic food and great service. We selected the classic menu and the team explain every course and the presentation and flavours were excellent."
    dined on 25/09/2013
  • "Food was excellent, we ate off the fish taster and had some of the nicest dishes I've had, the scallop dish being a particular favourite. The restaurant was noisy however being attached to the bar, the music being played at the start of the evening being more appropriate for a bar than a high end restaurant, only for this to be drowned out by a group of celebrating a birthday with a few too many wines a lot of laughs and the occasional sing along"
    dined on 23/09/2013
  • "The service was excellent ,sommelier a joy most knowledgeable but if you don't like fennel don't go it is everywhere! fois gras is an issue for me too so it was replaced by 2prawns and some broad beans, the worst Michelin starred meal I have had.I was full so to be fair, wasnt hugely keen but the duck was so dry and chalky that I couldn't eat it!The sweet course was devine and very well presented however. Will I go again ?No!"

  • "7th Sept 2013 -On arrival we were welcommed by an array of professional and well presented staff. The ambience was great with an exclusive atmosphere. We selected the Prestige Tasting Menu with Wines. Having ordered two cocktails in the bar before our meal the wines were a bit much (10 glasses each) and we had to slow our courses just to stay sobre enough to enjoy the food. The food was impeccable and the Chef was happy to substitute our foie gras dish for somthing less contentious. The staff were very efficient and slipped in and out of view without any disruption. We couldnt fault this restaurant, the food or the service. If you are looking for a special occasion restaurant then I would reccomend Bohemia. £340 for twoincluding cocktails."

  • "Very, very good indeed. Some courses had two-star-niveau. A very good service team. Good wines by the glass. I hope I come back soon to Jersey."

  • "A friend of mine and I decided to book an afternoon off work, and treat ourselves to a leisurely lunch at Bohemia, and I have to say, it was worth every penny. The atmosphere is very relaxed yet retains a sense of professional pride in its presentation; the staff are approachable and courteous, and at no time are you made to feel as if you are an inconvenience or need to make a move; the food is exquisite - beautifully prepared, very flavourful, and presented with style; and the experience truly is something special. I would say to anybody that doesn't mind paying that bit extra for food and service of a really exceptional quality, Bohemia is well worth looking at. I certainly intend on going back (and soon !)"

  • "I and my friends have the pescatorian menu. The food was very delicious! You can see a lot of the receipes have been copied by old Chef Shaun Rankin to its new restaurant Ormer. The service is quite slow and the waiting time is quite long, we all got very tired and impatient half way through the meal. The venue is most disappointing. It feels like a very ordinary hotel lobby and doesn't quite fit the idea of fine dining."

  • "We have eaten begore at bohemia and it's always had a good choice of menus. The staff are friendly and the extra touches means you have a pleasant dining experience."

  • "Lived up to our expectations and more. Attention to detail and knowledge of staff especially the sommelier who obviously loved her job. Comfortable relaxed and the tasting menu with wine made for an excellent evening. A must do again."

  • "The food was exceptional. Only one complaint. After spending £135/ head it seem pretty mean for the restaurant to charge c. £5 for a cup of coffee!!!"
