Bogayo Restaurant & BarAs always, an absolute fantasticAs always, an absolute fantastic meal. Have now converted more friends to this great restaurant.04/05/2013 00:00:00We had a great meal - thereWe had a great meal - there was a lovely atmosphere and the food was brilliant!03/05/2013 00:00:00Morrocan magicWonderful atmosphere. Willingly moved our table to inside away from a rather fierce patio heater. Service was attentive without being overbearing. We never had to wait. Entertainment came in the form of an excellent belly dancer who again looked for crowd participation but in a soft way. The star of the show was the food, which was outstanding and with the 50% off offer was incredibly good value! Would go again and would recommend without reservation!26/04/2013 00:00:00Big portionsWe had the chicken couscous and duck breast. Both were quite substantial portions, so no need for a starter unless your're really hungry. Good value.20/04/2013 00:00:00LastMinuteGreat last minute meal fantastic value and great house wine!12/04/2013 00:00:00Great Find....went here for a girls dinner...... loved it and will be going back again.10/04/2013 00:00:00Walked past this place 1000 timesI had never been tempted to eat here - i've probably walked past it 1000 times - But i'm glad I finally went to try it and i'm gutted I haven't been here sooner. The food was incredibly good. Very Tasty and good sized portions. Had the 50% off deal with Top Table which made it excellent value - a couple of drinks and food came to £40 - can't argue with that - good service also. I will certainly go back.08/04/2013 00:00:00Took us right back to MarrakeshBeautiful ambience, loved this place. It was a lovely choice for a romantic anniversary meal. Even without the 50% off food price, this is excellent value for an evening meal in Hoxton. Food was excellent.07/04/2013 00:00:00Bogayo never disappointsVisited Bogayo for the 2nd time with the 50% off offer which is just great value for money. Food is flavoursome and service is very friendly. Love the ambience, very romantic in the evenings when they turn down the lights.28/03/2013 00:00:00Loved the ambienceWe loved the ambience of this small, cosy restaurant, serving typical Moroccan dishes and also international cuisine, excellent value and good service, they were especially fast with the bill as we had to catch a train. Good transport links, a short bus distance from Liverpool Street and close to Old Street Tube or Hoxton overground.27/03/2013 00:00:00Very good restaurant.Went on strength of reviews & not at all disappointed. Food very good with a varied & interesting selection available, service excellent - all round good experience. Will go again.20/03/2013 00:00:00Fantastic, great food.Really enjoyed this restaurant. It's slightly tucked away so it felt nice and private. Food and service were great and speedy!16/03/2013 00:00:00Great food and lovely atmosphereI went there with 5 of my friends to celebrate a promotion, the food was lovely, and with the 50% off offer it was reasonably priced too. The ambience was great, the decor very authentic and the belly dancing was a great and to an evening!15/03/2013 00:00:00Very fun, delicious meal!I was so impressed by Bogayo. I booked the 50% off deal and already thought it was great value. The restaurant has three areas to dine - the main restaurant, an outdoor covered and heated area and the patio (which is also covered and heated). We had a fabulous 2-course dinner in the main restaurant area with a delicious bottle of Sauvignon Blanc from Chile, then moved out to the patio for after-dinner shisha and Morrocan mint tea. So much fun. the wine list was also really impressive with affordable priced wines from lesser known regions. Great value, fun ambivalence and delicious food - you can't beat it.12/03/2013 00:00:00Good Mother;s DayTook my wife and mother here for Mother's Day. I arrived 30 minutes late as the traffic was an issue. Anticipating my late arrival I phoned and asked to arrive 30minutes late and they confirmed I would still receive the 50% off food deal. The food was great and they had a good range of vegetarian meals and cocktails/mocktails. The only negative was that the food took a while to arrive. The deserts were really unique and equally delicious. The staff were great.10/03/2013 00:00:00Return visit to BogayoThis restaurant is a firm favourite of mine. The food and service are consistently good and with the 50% TT offer this is really excellent value. My partner particularly likes the belly dancer!23/02/2013 00:00:00Really tasty food. Good choiceReally tasty food. Good choice of meat and seafood. Very authentic Moroccan decor. A nice large serving of wine!22/02/2013 00:00:00An Amazing Anti-valentine ValentineHad a brilliantly amazing & chilled-out Valentines Day meal. Easy, exotic & unpretentious... We'll definitely be back! :)14/02/2013 00:00:00Slightly seedy-looking fromSlightly seedy-looking from the outside, but a bit of a hidden gem. Wonderful interior, good food - particularly the starters. Lovely if you want to go somewhere a little different.14/02/2013 00:00:00Dinner at BogayoThis is a very nice and easy going Morrocan restaurant. The food was very good and tasty, with generous portions and lovely meat, the service was excellent and the whole night was great fun. I would only say that I couldn't read the menu as the inside is very dim - still excellent for looking gorgeous! & the waiter very kindly brought me another night light to read by!
The only other tiny niggle was that it was my son's birthday and I had let the restaurant know, but there was no acknowledgment of this - it would have been nice, but certainly didn't detract from the evening.13/02/2013 00:00:00good service, tasty food, good service, tasty food, but the portions were a bit small. i wouldnt go for the fish again but my friend's lamb tagine was delicious05/02/2013 00:00:00What a find!Bogayo in Old Street is a real find, inconspicuous from the outside, but step inside, and you're in Morocco. Traditional decor, great atmosphere on a Friday evening, although tables are a little close together. Food was delicious, and fantastic value with the TT 50% offer (£44 for 3 courses, drinks and service). Chicken bastilla in filo for starter was lovely. We both had tagine for our main course; Lamb tagine was a huge lamb shank, very filling. The seafood tagine looked and tasted wonderful, but needed much more seafood, (prawn heads don't count in my book!). Baklava type desserts to finish. Staff were very helpful in explaining the dishes. This is a gem of a restaurant, and we'll certainly be back if we're in the area again.24/01/2013 16:00:00Great restaurantYou have to try the seafood tagine! Really lovely food, staff were great and all at 50% off the bill...20/01/2013 16:00:00group of 6We took advantage of a 50% offer, the food was good, so the service. We will go back.18/01/2013 16:00:00Great venue, authenticHave seen this place several times on old street, went on a great offer but would happily pay full prices18/01/2013 16:00:00Nice place, that was veryNice place, that was very good value. With the 50% discount a meal for 2 with a bottle of wine was £40, amazing for London!13/01/2013 16:00:00Will return to BogayoDinner at Bogayo was excellent value with 50% off food, and the quality of what we ate was very high. My halloumi starter and meatball tagine main was very tasty, and combined with my boyfriend's starter and main, and a few beers and glass of wine between us, the total bill (including service) was under £20 per person. Pretty impressive!11/01/2013 16:00:00GREAT FOOD AND VALUEI had high expectations based on reading reviews - I was not disappointed. We were a large mixed group and everyone was more than happy with their food. The wine list was excellent and reasonably priced and the service and value was outstanding. We booked on the 50% offer. We were were definitely not treated like budget diners. On top of that the decor and ambiance was really nice. Highly recommend, especially for groups.11/01/2013 16:00:00Bogayo is a fun place to eat.First impress is hugely friendly and welcoming staff and second impression is lovely, comfortable, convivial decor.
We sat in the 'outside' annex to the main building - it was freezing outside but the heaters kept us warm. Service was top notch.
Food was OK, I had stuffed poussin.
When we left a belly dancer was just starting.
Restaurant was full of happy people by the looks of things.11/01/2013 16:00:00BogayoWe had to crete our own atmosphere at Bogayo as we were the only customers in for quite a while. The service was friendly and pleasant. We really enjoyed the chicken bastilla starters and our tagine and cous cous mains. We'll go back again when we are not pre-concert, recommended.15/12/2012 00:00:00Enjoy !Realy nice north african food, especially the tagines. Service is really friendly.15/12/2012 00:00:00Good Value MorroccanWe went here on a Thursday late evening. It is a busy bustling characterful restaurant with great service. The food was simple, plentiful and tasty and the service was super friendly and helpful.31/10/2012 17:00:00Bogayo is becoming a firm favouriteThis restaurant is one of my favourites. We visited on the hottest night of the year so far and the main restaurant was virtually empty, with everyone in the courtyard or conservatory. The service was, as usual, faultless and my mixed grilled seafood main course was lovely. We don't usually go for dessert but ordered the assorted morrocan cakes, which were delicious. There are still more things on the menu that I have yet to try so I'll be back soon! Highly recommended.18/08/2012 00:00:00Lovely eveningThis was my 3rd or 4th time at Bogayo Restaurant and Bar in Old street, its a lovely reasonably prices restaurant , the staff are friendly the decor is nice, I think this would make a nice date restaurant! .
The Tagines are superb, and the starters are all really tasty , I would recommend them all.18/07/2012 16:00:00Bogayo Restaurant & Bar, OldBogayo Restaurant & Bar, Old Street:
This is the second time I have visited this restaurant hidden away amongst the hustle and bustle of Shoreditch, and I have not been disappointed. The food was delicious and plentiful. The service was great and it had a great relaxed yet intimate atmosphere. I will surely be visiting again - thoroughly recommended.10/05/2012 16:00:00This was a return visit toThis was a return visit to Bogayo &, if anything, the food & service were even better this time. We were initially given a table in the 'outside' area (covered and heated but not in the main restaurant) & asked if we could be moved. They were fully booked but promised to do their best for us. We were moved to an inside table within 5 minutes! The service was impeccable - attentive but not rushed - & the food was fantastic. We will most definitely be back. Very highly recommended21/04/2012 00:00:00Food always good, gem in Old StreetLocated just off the main street it's a intimate restaurant but still has room for groups and outdoor area. Food and service always excellent, highly recommend. Great for a quick lunch or dinner.
As well as Moroccan food they also have varied western meals and all are good.12/04/2012 16:00:00Had a lovely meal at Bogayo.Had a lovely meal at Bogayo. The staff were fantastic- a credit to the place. the food was good, solid rather than exciting. The portions would have been very tight had we not been on the 50% off food deal, but they were plenty big enough for our appetites and we would often rather pay less for less food.12/04/2012 00:00:00wonderful service and goodwonderful service and good food. A lot of fun - would definitely be back!06/04/2012 00:00:00Bogayo was very pleasing -Bogayo was very pleasing - a nice little authentic restaurant that was nicely romantic. Food was decent but nothing special.21/03/2012 00:00:00Really enjoyed Bogayo. IReally enjoyed Bogayo. I was slightly concerned by previous reviews, which had complained about poor servide. No such complaints here! It was Saturday night & the restaurant was full but the servide was friendly & efficient, & the food was absolutely delicious, particularly my starter of pigeon breast . I could have done without the belly dancer but I guess she did add to the atmosphere. Very good value with the TT offer and will be returning very soon. Definitely recommended.17/03/2012 00:00:00We went to Bogayo in LondonWe went to Bogayo in London last night on a 50% off deal. We thought it was excellent value for money - we paid £20 each for 3 courses and £30 of that was 2 bottles of wine. The food was very good (we all had tagines) and the service was also excellent (the manager deliberately took our order before a huge party that was in, so that we would not have to wait). Maybe not the place for a quiet romantic meal (they had a belly dancer in, maybe because it was a Friday) but great for groups.19/01/2012 16:00:00I booked a last minute tableI booked a last minute table for myself and 3 friends on a Thursday night and thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Bogayo. The food was nice. We shared two entrees the pita and dip and the chicken pastry that were delicious and I shared the couscous royale and lamb tagine with a friend for main. The main dishes were tasty, not amazing, but very good especially for the price. Service was good and the restaurant was packed but not too noisy. Would recommend.18/01/2012 16:00:00
