Blueprint Cafefollowing a complaint aboutfollowing a complaint about service a year ago things totally improved and now the service is exemplary. As ever one of the best views in London - hope the restaurant survives the move of the Design Museum in a few years.17/05/2013 00:00:00Had a fabulous time reallyHad a fabulous time really good food and excellent service. We were so lucky to be seated at a table with an outstanding view.17/05/2013 00:00:00AMAZING VIEW OVERLOOKING THE THAMESThis restaurant has the wow factor. Although it can seem a little pricey if you're not visiting on a deal. Definitely a good choice for lunch on a sunny day though.17/05/2013 00:00:00Good atmosphere and valueA very good eveing with good unobtrusive music with great view and food. Will go back again.13/05/2013 00:00:00We had a delightful eveningWe had a delightful evening with great service, great food and amazing views. The atmosphere was chilled and relaxed but not at the expense of efficient service. The food was uncomplicated but very very tasty. I can't really fault anything!10/05/2013 00:00:00Blueprint cafeLovely lunch at the Blueprint cafe on our first visit. Table by the window so we were able to see all that was going on on the river and the service was excellent; we really couldnt fault it. The meal was delicious and portions were generous. The set lunch was very good value although a glass of wine was somewhat expensive but we would certainly visit the restaurant again.09/05/2013 00:00:00Lovely meal and great viewsWe had lunch at the blueprint cafe on a lovely sunny day so that patio doors were open - the atmosphere was inviting and fresh. The meal itself was superb and good value (2 courses from the market menu). Our waiter was lovely without being over the top. The only thing about lunching here is that it's not ideal for a non-business meal because you're out of the office for coming on to two hours so best for business meals or special long lunch treats!03/05/2013 00:00:00You must go to this restaurantSimply fantastic. Airy with excellent river views. Music from seven and very approachable staff. Very innovative menu, food enjoyed by all. I came because a friend recommended it and I will definitely be back. Beats many restaurants, go whenever you can!!29/04/2013 00:00:00Lovely restaurant with fab foodWent here for Sunday lunch toptable deal 2 courses and glass of prosecco for £18, well worth it and great dining experience.28/04/2013 00:00:00Great food & great views ofGreat food & great views of Tower Bridge! I will definitely go again!26/04/2013 00:00:00FantasticThis was a wonderful dining experience. The setting is amazing and what great value!26/04/2013 00:00:00Relaxed enjoyable evening and musicNot expecting too much from a Monday evening but had a lovely family reunion along with good food and great view - as a bonus we got live music thrown in! A guitarist and vocalist singing and playing some good stuff.22/04/2013 00:00:00Beautiful views of the river,Beautiful views of the river, friendly staff, the food was lovely but the menu is not particularly extensive so not great for vegetarians as there is only one option. Would recommend.19/04/2013 00:00:00Very good as usualFantastic views of the river and tier bridge, excellent food and service. Always a good choice for any occasion! I would recommend the vouvray - cracking bottle of wine!!13/04/2013 00:00:00Good food with a viewWe dined from the set menu 2 or 3 courses. All of the dishes were well cooked and presented - and tasted wonderful. With views over the Thames and a set of opera glasses to see further its great fun. Sites above the Design Museum and shop it's also close to the Shard, Tower Bridge and Butlers Wharf to make it a worthwhile visit.08/04/2013 00:00:00Never disappoints. We took some friends with us and we all had terrific meals. The service was just right and our friends thought it was very good value especially when you throw in that wonderful view of Tower Bridge,The Tower and the City skyline.06/04/2013 00:00:00Excellent food and friendlyExcellent food and friendly service - as always. A reliable choice and a perfect venue when hosting visitors to London as the view of the river, Tower Bridge etc is second to none.30/03/2013 00:00:00London views,Good food & at fair ££Excellent little restaurant with great views of Tower bridge and at very fair prices.
The waiter was very attentive but without being over bearing. My daughter asked for a couple of cocktails that they unfortunately didn't do, so she plumped for one from the menu and didn't really enjoy and without any prompting the waiter noticed that she hadn't and very kindly removed it from the bill (small gesture but nevertheless much appreciated)
The menu itself isn't extensive but the quality of the food that was on offer was excellent. My wife chose the Yellowfin tuna as a starter, which I would definitely recommend.
I will absolutely be returning (in fact just talked my boss into booking for our next team meeting dinner!!)29/03/2013 00:00:00Lovely lunch at the BlueprintLovely lunch at the Blueprint Cafe as part of the London Restaurant Fortnight deal. Lowly food and a relaxed atmosphere, with great views of the river! Recommended!24/03/2013 00:00:00Another great meal with aAnother great meal with a fabulous view of Tower Bridge13/03/2013 00:00:00Welcome surpriseWe booked the Blue Print Cafe based on a recommendation and was really pleased we did. He food was excellent as was the service and the view overlooking the river and Tower Bridge. We went for the set menu and had three choices of each course - so there was one thing for everyone. The big surprise for me was the vegetarian option which in many Resteraunts can be a bit bland - here it was tasty and wholesome.
Excellent on all grounds - recommended07/03/2013 00:00:00Food with a viewThere are many restaurants in London offering great views, but the food does not always deliver. The Blueprint Café, however, managed to do both. Attentive service completed the experience. I will definitely be going back.26/02/2013 00:00:00Amazing ViewsWe took our parents to the Blueprint Cafe after a very cold day at Borough Market. The welcome was very warm and friendly and the food was very good, with more than the usual number of options for the one vegetarian member of our party. There was a slight niggle with one of the dishes which was fixed immediately so no problem there. The Market Menu was very good value. It was a little cold sitting by the windows although the low level heaters were on, but the view of the river is absolutely amazing. I'd recommend Blueprint Cafe to anyone.23/02/2013 00:00:00Something specialFour of us ate to celebrate a couple of family events and I couldn't fault the service - friendly, welcoming and really added to the occasion. Special deal was good value, interesting and everyone enjoyed it and there was no stinting on the bread and service just because we weren't a la carte. It's a while since I'd been to the Blue Print cafe but I'll remember it next time I'm looking to eat in the area.23/02/2013 00:00:00The restaurant offers fantasticThe restaurant offers fantastic views of the capital's skyline, this coupled with good food and great value makes for a very worthwhile visit.12/02/2013 00:00:00Relaxed Ambiance and Great ViewsThe Blue Print cafe is an ideal venue for a relaxed meal taking in great views of the Thames. The food is simply prepared and delicious showcasing fresh seasonal ingredients.12/02/2013 00:00:00Blueprint Cafe - always good! This is the second time I have been to BluePrint Cafe (the first time due to alcohol I don't remember much - so went back!). All of my food was delicious. The service was great and friendly, but not too much so. The views are always good. We went for lunch on a Saturday, I had pigeon, followed by Lamb, follwed by seriously chocolaye goodness. I would recommend this restaurant, however it is pricey (I like Harvester!) so just expect that before you go. But seriously loved the food and would definitely go again. One point - the winter vegetables was just Cale. That was a little disappointing.09/02/2013 00:00:00Food!The evening was great, same excellent ambience and good food. Only thing is that the service albeit very professional was a bit overwhelming. Felt a bit like we were being pressured into getting wine by the bottle, water (still or sparkilng? No, tap!). Some times you just want to be left to enjoy your food /date.
Food was good, but portions were small, but that may be cause we were having the £15 menu.
All in all a consistently good restaurant, but I would suggest you go for the full a-la-carte menu if you want to do it justice and enjoy yourself.16/01/2013 16:00:00Blueprint cafe is one of myBlueprint cafe is one of my favourites. Not only is Shad Thames a lovely area, but being above the design museum gives you the option to have a wander indoors. On this visit with work colleagues from overseas, they loved the view and mini binoculars on the tables, and the food was great. Bread is fresh and the soup was delicious in this weather. mains of chicken and venison were delicious and even the coffee and desserts were not too filling but good. Service was attentive but not overbearing. Definitely a good secret little place to go and have a lovely meal!16/01/2013 00:00:00Three course dining for £20My partner and I enjoyed a very pleasant window table with direct views towards Tower Bridge
We both went for thee courses for £20 with a choice of vegetarian, fish and meat from a restricted menu for both starter and main
The cauliflower blue cheese and walnut soup was a triumph, the pate was tasty but perhaps little better than a premium supermarket product, the free range chicken with pearl parley and broth was perfectly pleasant but a little bland, the side order of smoked mashed was absolutely delicious, as were both the sticky toffee sponge and hazelnut parfait desserts
In the round the meal was very good and there were some real stand out dishes. The only real criticism was it felt a bit "safe". I would however recommend it.10/01/2013 16:00:00Amazing New Years Eve supperAmazing New Years Eve supper! Fantastic view. Excellent Service. Timing with the chatered boat on the Thames was excellent and the boat captain knew the best spot for the fire works!30/12/2012 16:00:00Very nice..My Girlfriend and I had a very nice experience at the Blue Print Cafe.
Good food and service.
Thanks
;)23/12/2012 16:00:00Lovely all round3 courses on TT offer on limited menu with 3 choices for each course were enough for us. My starter of pate with foie gras was divine as was my haddock main course and dessert of sticky toffee pudding. I booked in 2 minutes via the TT app and was there to dine 15 mins later, spontaneous late Saturday night lovely meal that was easily organised and no hurry for us to leave. Could not ask for more!21/12/2012 16:00:00Absolutely faultless service! The Blueprint Cafe is one of London's hidden gems. The food was delicious with excellent presentation. However, for me it was the service that made this restaurant so memorable. Absolutely excellent service by all members of staff, attentive and very friendly without being overly attentive. This restaurant is definitely worth a visit, and whilst it may not be in a great position for central London, its position on the river guarantees superb views even in the pouring rain.21/12/2012 16:00:00Staff and food were wonderfulMy friend and I went for an evening meal, pre christmas catch up and were really impressed by the staff service and food. Especially as my friend had to ask specific questions on the food and how things were cooked due to medical issues and staff were only more than happy to help and answer as many questions we needed.
Views are stunning right on the river.
Definitely recommend! and indeed have done to anyone willing to listen19/12/2012 16:00:00Great 'slow food' with a view.We requested a table with a view at The Blueprint Cafe in the Design Museum at Shad Thames, and were delighted to be seated at a Thames-side table with stunning views in both directions. Service was friendly and professional. We chose the pheasant and were told that this would take fifteen minutes to prepare. It actually took a little longer but we were bought some nibbles while we waited, and it was well worth while as it was delicious. We can also highly recommend the sticky toffee pudding! Two course for £12.50 for food which is NOT fast (in a good way) is excellent. The Swift lunch deal also looked extremely good value. We are definitely planning to return and would highly recommend this restaurant.20/11/2012 16:00:00I visit this place for a dateI visit this place for a date actually, it was a bad date but the food was good at least. The good thing about this place is you can enjoy the view overlooking river thames and adjacent tower bridge whilst tucking into a 3 courses tasty meal. I would love to re visit this place in the evening.12/11/2012 00:00:00Perfect blueprintThe views from the Blueprint Cafe are stunning. The food is delicious. And the service is top notch. What's not too like. HIghly reccommend.03/11/2012 17:00:00Superb but a little slow.....The view from Blueprint is superb (if you get a good table) but even if you don't the ambience is still great. Food is well thought out and well made. Service was not as attentive as it could have been but not to an extent where it ruined the meal. One of our deserts wasn't up to standard and they happily refunded the cost. Price wise it was a good deal with the set menu for £18. All round a top venue.01/11/2012 17:00:00A last minute booking justA last minute booking just for me led to an early dinner at the Blueprint. The service was great and the food from thegood value Toptable menu was delicious. I especially enjoyed the tasty pork chop. I will be going again.23/09/2012 16:00:00i visited here and tag alongi visited here and tag along my German friend with me for dinner as was trying to impress with with the view. He had 3 courses whilst i tucked into 2 courses excellent meal. I love this place as the food is always spot on, simple and affordable. Can't wait to visit again.20/08/2012 00:00:00A beautiful evening! We had a lovely evening at the Blueprint for my birthday. I requested a table by the window and was amazed to get one - thank you Blueprint. The food and service were as good as ever. And a special thanks to the waiter who brought the chef out from the kitchen to explain how they made smoked mash.... I now have a "Smoking Gun". Top team. Will definitely come back and absolutely recommend to friends and colleagues.07/08/2012 16:00:00Still greatA new chef at the helm in the Blueprint but still excellent food, service and value. And fantastic views, what's not to love.30/06/2012 16:00:00Great place for dining andGreat place for dining and whilst enjoying the scenery. I was too distracted whilst eating and waiting for the Tower Bridge to open.29/06/2012 00:00:00A Room with a ViewDining at the Blueprint Cafe after seeing an exhibition at the Design Museum was a wonderful end to the evening. My poached duck egg with mixed mushrooms and polenta was very tasty, and I could have drunk the cucumber and elderflower martinis all night. Highly recommended.27/06/2012 00:00:00This is the 2nd time we'veThis is the 2nd time we've redeemed our points here and once again we were not disappointed. The menu may be simple but it's certainly not ordinary. Everything is cooked to perfection and the flavour of each ingredient is out of this world. It's not just chicken breast and honey glazed carrots, it's the best every chicken and carrots you'll probably ever have. Everything is scrummy and topped off with brilliant service and spectacular views over Tower Bridge. The Blueprint Cafe is a must.18/05/2012 00:00:00We went Blueprint Cafe forWe went Blueprint Cafe for Saturday lunch. The view was fantastic from the wide window. The service was good but we felt it was a little slow. The food was okay but not paticulary great.12/05/2012 00:00:00Blueprint cafe has a greatBlueprint cafe has a great location on the Southbank. On Saturday night it was quieter than expected.
Service was very good as was the food. Good value with toptable12/05/2012 00:00:00Friday lunch at the BlueprintFriday lunch at the Blueprint Cafe. Excellent food, great views and charming service as always.04/05/2012 00:00:00Some friends and I went forSome friends and I went for lunch at Blueprint Café. Clearly you pay for the view, which is indeed great. The special offer (3 courses for £16.50) would have made our meal good value, BUT the food took ages to arrive. Other people (who had arrived after us) got their food much sooner than us. After 1.5 hours (!) we had still not received our dessert, so we had to cancel it as we were really running late. Service was friendly and OK; food was very nice, but the portions rather small.27/04/2012 16:00:00
