Blakes RestaurantValentines NightA great venue, cosy bar for a pre dinner drink, laid back background music. excellent service, waiters and sommellier.
Two menus that night, a three course and a 7 course tasting menu. We went for former but were not dissappointed, great quality ingredients that were well cooked and presented. A short but varied wine list with a good range of price levels. Not rushed at all, plenty of time to eat and relax in a very pleasant room.14/02/2013 00:00:00Lunch at BlakesBlakes is a great venue for catchup drinks/meals with friends. The TT set menu was excellent value and great for veggies as well meat eaters of the group. Complementary truffles were very yummy! Service wasn't rushed and the chef came out to meet the adjacent table. Lots of amusing cartoons in the restroom!04/01/2013 16:00:00Soiree in BlakesOn a cold Sunday evening we arrived at Blakes in a quiet residentail street of South Kensington. Staff were welcoming and helpful. There was a steep turning staircase to gain access to the Basement restaurant, which makes it in advisable for elderely relatives or disabled guests. Otherwise it was a good experience dated by the retro decor (or was that orginal?). It is great for a buiness meal or a romantic dinner for two, for which there were anumber of takers that evening!11/11/2012 00:00:00trex saysThe dishes are tasty and pleasantly priced for lunch menu. The sparkling and still water is FREE in a boutique hotel.
There was a bread plate but no bread. Kind of old school decor and design for old folks.21/10/2012 00:00:00Divine Food & Service & AmbianceAmaxing food and attentive staff. Tucked away off Gloucester Road, this hotel / restaurant is more like a private members' club with old-American style decor, low-level lighting and an intimate yet spacious atmosphere. The food is really good fusion and the wine list has some really good bottles on it at good prices.11/06/2012 00:00:00Lovely Bank Holiday MondayLovely Bank Holiday Monday lunch at Blakes.
Venue was very quiet but food made up for it. No prosecco on offer and champagne by the glass at £12.50 a bit steep. Also gratuity here is 15%.07/05/2012 00:00:00Really enjoyed dinner at Blakes.Really enjoyed dinner at Blakes. A bit too dark but still nice ambience.
