Bistrot Bruno LoubetSuper!I booked an evening meal for my partner and I after attending a private function at the Zetter Townhouse and sampling some of the dishes from Bistro Bruno Loubet. We arrived at the Bistro on a Saturday and were immediately impressed by the friendly efficiency of the front of house staff. We often eat out and have what could be great dining experiences ruined by aloof or ambivalent staff. Bistro Bruno Loubet however seem to have struck gold with an extremely competent, knowledgeable and down-to-earth team. We were thoroughly impressed by the variety of the menu and the number of exciting vegetarian and fish plates on offer. Thank you to the Bruno Loubet team, we had a wonderful evening.18/05/2013 00:00:00Reliable but creativeThis is one of the best restaurants in London. It's a real bistro as opposed to the trendy Balthazar and other clones. Bruno is always creative yet his staple bistro fare is wonderful.17/05/2013 00:00:00Bravo!The entire experience at this bistrot is a consistently good one. From seating manager's welcome to ordering to eating and savouring the vibrant scene, all comes together. We followed the server's advice with the specials and they were of extraordinary raw material quality and preparation. Wines list was varied and had some good finds with also reasonable prices.11/05/2013 00:00:00London's best Bistro?Mr. Loubet is rightly lorded for his cooking, but there's more to it than that. The room, the ambience and the staff make the whole dining experience comfortable and relaxed. I've eaten there several times over the last year and the standard, in all aeras, has been consistently high. The kitchen is on fine form and the wine list is exceptional. My guests have been universaly impressed, which is good for my business too.30/04/2013 00:00:00Beautiful foodEven thinking about my beetroot ravioli is making me want to return!
Beautiful food, speedily served, delicious!
Thanks for a great evening20/04/2013 00:00:00Both Guinea Fowl & RabbitBoth Guinea Fowl & Rabbit Ragout were really top tier. Starter bites could probably be changed off menu, that is only thing that cost a star. Besides those biscuits, every bite was 5 star. (and the shortbread was good, but in comparison to the rest, simply out shone)19/04/2013 00:00:00Fantastic foodFantastic food, presented beautifully with incredible flavour combinations. We had a very good experience and would definitely visit again.13/04/2013 00:00:00Great cooking - againFood perfectly prepared and presented! My partner had wood pigeon, which was divine; I had mackerel, also sublime. Our guest's food was equally good, making for a lovely night out.13/04/2013 00:00:00A wonderful mealWe really enjoyed my birthday lunch with you. The atmosphere was welcoming, and the staff friendly and most helpful. We were pleasantly surprised by the prices, which were extremely reasonable for the excellent quality and presentation of the food provided. We shall come again.13/04/2013 00:00:00Great experienceIt was great experience. Everything (except I think Lyonnaise salad) was absolutely delicious. The service was appropriate and atmosphere was lovely. Even though it felt that the restaurant was made more for lunches, dinner was great too.11/04/2013 00:00:00Someone compared Loubet to Jesus......which I think might be going a little far! Although, in many respects, his restaurant is heavenly. Pardon. This was a holiday treat, and it was a really lovely evening. The food is excellent, really really tasty - I had roast quail, which had been de-boned (great stuff) and stuffed with cheese and prunes, wrapped in bacon and served with mushrooms, greens and sauce. We ate other things, but that detail is illustrate just how rich the food is. Be prepared to put on a few pounds! It's been said that the desserts aren't as great as the mains - we both had a chocolate tart, which was a brilliant thing, but it came with underwhelming ice cream. Service was very good, unobtrusive whilst at the same time attentive. Have recommended already!10/04/2013 00:00:00Tres bienBooked this table for a girls' get together. I was not disappointed. LOVED the food and wine and was truly impressed with each course. The staff were all very friendly and attentive. Would gladly return and recommend.09/04/2013 00:00:00ExcellentI have eaten here many times. I approach with some trepidation every time because the menu can appear challenging, but every time I find myself eating brilliantly cooked food with amazing flavours. Be prepared to ask the excellent waiters about the menu and be rewarded with a great meal.09/04/2013 00:00:00Great atmosphere, friendly staffGood quality food in a lively setting. Informed barman with great cocktail ideas. Friendly, attentive waiting staff. Would definitely go back.06/04/2013 00:00:00Great surpriseWe booked without having had this one recommended to us, but what a great surprise. Excellent food, we plan to go again and try some more dishes. Would highly recommend31/03/2013 00:00:00Great food, exceptional serviceEnjoyed a lovely birthday dinner at BBL. The food was excellent, the service impeccable. Highly recommended.30/03/2013 00:00:00Stay at the ZetterAs we were staying at the Zetter, we thought we might as well stay there for dinner, although we did take a look at other places nearby, but it certainly seemed to be the best for what we were looking for.
The food itself was a great combination of flavour, quality, appropriate portion size and variety, and we finished feeling appropriately full but not "stuffed". As our weekend was a special occasion, the food did the occasion justice, and the service likewise.30/03/2013 00:00:00untitledIt was Sunday lunch, so this meant there were children present and for this I've deducted two points for ambience. (Not that Loubet can be blamed for the behaviour of some middle class children)
After we were seated at our table it took a while for the waitress to notice us (it was a busy Sunday) but after that the service was excellent.
The food was brilliant. Three of us ate and not one of us had anything he/she regretted ordering. Fantastic bouillabaisse, stupendous quenelle.
We will certainly return24/03/2013 00:00:00Food was excellent, serviceFood was excellent, service was good and we were given time to make choices and enjoy our meal rather than being hurried. Interesting specials and great ambience. We felt that some of the staff were slightly diverted and stressed, but this did not detract from our meal.22/03/2013 00:00:00Great first experienceI was on Holiday in London and wanted to try a nice French restaurant. I found out about this place on Tripadviser and decided to give it a try. Now this was my first real experience with French cuisine outside of the basic cafe and bakery experience so I was a little apprehensive, but the staff was very understanding and very helpful. I ended up enjoying the beetroot ravioli as an appetizer, the seafood bouillabaisse as a main course, and the tart with pistachio ice cream. Each course was divine. I had no complaints. This was a wonderful first experience with French dining.21/03/2013 00:00:00Special occasionI took my husband here for a special birthday and notified them about the occasion upon booking. The restaurant reserved a lovley window table for us and the staff were attentive but not annoyingly so. Service first rate.
The waitress presented a special birthday suprise desert with a candle and we wished him Happy Birthday.
Taking our drinks into the bar Jacques Brel was playing which made his night. Would definetly go back.16/03/2013 00:00:00DeliciousWe went to Bistrot Bruno Loubet for my birthday lunch. The beetroot ravioli was to die for - best dish I have had in years. The setting in the stylish Zetter hotel looking out onto St John's Square is lovely too.
I would definitely recommend this restaurant for special occasions.15/03/2013 00:00:00Airy and impressiveTook my sister and husband for a birthday lunch. Ambience is great in the day time thanks to 180 degree floor to ceiling light, so it's flooded with light, the staff are well trained and attentive (without being bothersome) and the food was delicious. I had baked john dory with boulangere potatoes - delicious but seriously buttery, followed by superb crepes suzettes. Delicious freshy baked warm bread was served. Only complaint is that their sides for the day did not include a green vegetable option which is strange, only green salad, red cabbage or mash. Would definitely recommend it.14/03/2013 00:00:00Thank you BrunoI have dined at BBL twice in the last couple of weeks. The staff were very welcoming on both occasions. The food was really tasty - beetroot ravioli still wonderful and we enjoyed the 'specials' too. Thank you Bruno.14/03/2013 00:00:00A wonderful special night .We booked this restaurant to celebrate my husbands big 50 ! It was lovely. Relaxed, trendy, the food exciting and delicious and the service great. The staff were really friendly and informative. They made us feel really special, even bringing us a complimentary glass of bubbly to celebrate ! We took our coffee in the lovely back bar. We didn't want to leave ! Thoroughly recommend it .12/03/2013 00:00:00Excellent food, great venueWe went for an evening meal on mother's day with my wife and 3 teenage children. Venue has a great bistro atmosphere, all the food was sublime in taste. Staff were very welcoming and our waitress very friendly and helpful.
Great night, would recommend.10/03/2013 00:00:00Champagne tastes on a beer budgetThe food tastes nearly Michelin starred without the price tag. Beautifully plated and delicious we had a lovely meal with great service.06/03/2013 00:00:00bruno is backThe service was good but we wanted to have finished our kirs before the first course arrived. The guinea fowl boudin blanc was excellent, very light but full of flavour. The other starter, a globe artichoke and curd cheese salad, chosen from the specials board, was a bit disappointing: it was served cold and seemed slightly underseasoned. Both main courses, quail stuffed with prunes and beef indochine, were very tasty. The beef indochine was flavoured with mint and accompanied by grapefruit, which at first seemed an unlikely combination, but after the initial sharp taste the flavours in fact blended and balanced very well. The quince tart and pistachio ice cream was a bit disappointing, not quite reaching the same standard as the mains.02/03/2013 00:00:00Great experience all along!I went to Bistro Loubet for a special occasion with my girlfriend and we really enjoyed our time there! The food was precise, refined and very nicely presented. The service was exceptional, we really fell being looked after, and absolutely not expensive. I would definitely recommend it to food enthusiast!27/02/2013 00:00:00Amazing food, the serviceAmazing food, the service was just right. Very thoughtful decor - treading the balance between stylish and comfortable perfectly. If you're after the good food found in formal restaurants, but want to dine in a friendly atmosphere where you won't feel uptight - this is the place.22/02/2013 00:00:00Great presentation of FrenchGreat presentation of French classic flavours and dishes. Lovely atmosphere, with friendly and attentive service. I would highly recommend.19/02/2013 00:00:00good serviceIt was a lovely evening. The service was nice and attentive. The food is good. Interesting selection and mix of flavours. Very reasonably priced.15/02/2013 00:00:00This is the first restaurantThis is the first restaurant experience in quite some time where I came away thinking that each and every personal encounter with a member of staff far exceeded expectations. The hostess, waiter, and coat check were all exceptionally friendly and accommodating.
There are only a few options on the menu, but based on the outcome, it seems that they know how to prepare each of these options very well.
I would highly recommend this place for any guy looking for a place to take a girl on a nice date. The manager was extremely helpful with the wine. All in all, we came away very pleased.14/02/2013 00:00:00Reliable and deliciousBruno is a star. Food always delicious -- some are stalwarts such as the boudin blanc which changes garnish with the season and the snails with meatballs. There is always fish and meat of the day, however, and new dishes all the time.13/02/2013 00:00:00Tuesday night business dinnerSnails and meatballs starter, followed by pigeon and then a chilli choclate cake.
The starters and mains were superb - faultless in fact.
The chocolate cake was dry, and to be honest would make a decent denture fixative.
Wines were great value and a wide selection.
We had a table for three, the other two had a boudin blanc starter, plus the rabbit pasta and bouillabaisse for mains - all very well received. Total spend for three people: (9 courses, 2 bottles of wine and three cocktails) £180... can't argue with that! I will definately be going back (but might avoid the chocolate cake).12/02/2013 00:00:00Astounding flavoursOur dishes were simply superb - a beautiful combination of flavours where each flavour came through as a pure note and balanced each other perfectly. Lovely relaxed atmosphere, bustling and busy but not harrassed or noisy.08/02/2013 00:00:00ExcellentOnce again, excellent dinner at Bistrot Bruno Loubet. Outstanding service, delicious food, lovely wine. It just never lets you down.30/01/2013 16:00:00Uniformly goodFood, service and ambience all good. Bright space with lots of natural light.
More a restaurant than a bistrot. Only a third full on a Thursday lunchtime. Deserves better. Give it a go.29/01/2013 16:00:00An Old RomanticHaving been over a year since my wife and i were on a proper "date" since the birth of our child, i thought we would look to Bruno's as i had heard good things of the Bistro and of the Zetter Town House for a pre dinner drink. I requested whether i could get a decent table, given the occasion, in advance of the booking. On a Friday night, at the busiest time of the booking, i was really very chuffed that seemingly everyone was aware of our booking - we were given the best seat in the house, and served complimentary champagne. the service was great, the food classically French, and the ambience was vibrant yet romantic. the lady advising on the wine was exceptionally well versed. all in all, a night to remember - do yourself a favour and go!17/01/2013 16:00:00top-class gutsy foodvery tasty food, and carefully avoids potential cliches of 'rustic pretension'. Simple but complex at the same time. Great wine list.06/01/2013 16:00:00lovelyReally nice, as always. Just wish hare royale on the menu more often04/01/2013 16:00:00Very quick and efficient service,Very quick and efficient service, fast delicious food.01/01/2013 16:00:00Bruno Loubet never dissapointsWe've been going to Bistro Bruno Loubet once or twice a year and it never disappoints. Great bistro food with a fine dinnning twist and a lively (but not over the top) atmosphere which suits both group dinners and a romantic night out. The only reason it doesnt get 5 out 5 on the food is the dessert - compared to the starters and main courses it is always a bit of a let down. Other than that, fabulous service and always an outstanding meal.29/12/2012 16:00:00Bruno Loubet - getting better! We took my cousin from Australia and she said that the food was some of the best she had ever had!29/12/2012 00:00:00Good, old-fashioned (rich) FoodLoved this restaurant. It is a typical bistro with small tables, quite close together (but not too close). The presentation is more modern, but it is a long time since I have had such a good French meal. For those who prefer their food less rich, they should stick to the fish as main course. Everything was excellent. The males in our party loved the chocolate pudding (females couldn't manage anything else).20/12/2012 16:00:00Bruno Loubet gets better and betterThe food at Bruno Loubet just gets better and better. The wine list has been revamped and there are lots of bargains to be found!01/12/2012 00:00:00Excellent bistroThe ambience is a total winner every time, with beautiful decor, great light, lively but not intrusive atmosphere. Food is always good, but this time it was altogether great - the autumn and winter menus are a real winner. The only gripe: this is the second time we wanted to discuss wines and not only is there no sommelier, the waiters are distinctly clueless on wine (two different ones, two separate visits). Having said that, this time ours was very keen to help and after three tries we found a suitable one that we enjoyed very much.15/11/2012 16:00:00again bruno loubet has thatagain bruno loubet has that majic touch,

Really high quality cooking, with innovative and beautifully created dishes. Would highly recommend.09/11/2012 16:00:00Top quality from Bruno LoubetTop quality from Bruno Loubet again- from the reception to choice of wines by the glass or caraffe and an appetising menu all is excellent. The snails and bouillabaisse, quails and summer berries were all tasty, beautifully presented and memorable. It was a fitting celebration for a birthday20/08/2012 00:00:00
