Diner Reviews
  • "The food at Bingham is absolutely detail perfect. This is the third time this year I have visited, and from the salted cod starter to the succulent cuisse de canard, and the wonderful honeycomb festooned rice pudding it was faultless and delicious. If you haven't been, you owe it to your self to try it out."

  • "Booked at short notice for a table for 6 for an 88th Birthday lunch. The staff accommodate us all and made the lunch for the birthday boy. All dishes on the set Sunday Lunch menu were tried and were all very tasty. The views across the Thames were nice."

  • "Went to the Bingham for a romantic dinner with my girlfriend. Service was friendly (as usual), but maybe lacking the attentiveness that it usually has. The food was very good quality but did lack a bit in taste. The food was inventive at least though. Wine selection is really good."

  • "The meal was exceptional value and the food was delicious. Will definitely be going back soon!! The views of the Thames are amazing"

  • "The Bingham was a huge success. The deal was £15 for a three course meal and it was fantastic. A great location and our table was in he window looking out over the river> The food was delicious and at £15 it was really good value for money would recommend to anyone."

  • "Great service, ambience, and amazing food! Highly recommended!"

  • "A stunning location, overlooking the Thames. The tasting menu was fantastic. Great flavours and very nicely balanced - we were full but not bloated at the end despite the 6 courses + an additional dessert course they gave us "to test"! Service was attentive but not intrusive with a great wine recommendation. They also have a weekly set menu that looks like cracking value at £15 for 3 courses! Tasting menu was £65. With wine, coffee and service it ended up ~£100 per head. Well worth it!"

  • "A valentines evening meal with nice touches like roses and champagne to be taken home. The tasting menu was excellent. Will go back."

  • "Amazing food - we will go back - each course was wonderful We had the taster menu and wines We have chosen our fave for next time"

  • "This was our first visit to the Bingham for a birthday treat and it didn't disappoint. The food was delicious, high quality and the lamb was perfectly cooked. At £15 for 3 course was a bargain! We had a great table overlooking the river and the staff were friendly. While we ate from the market menu which was a fixed price, the cost of dishes on the a la carte menu, for food of such good quality, were very reasonable so we will most definitely go back."

  • "We arrived 30 minutes early and were told that our table was ready, after ordering everything was delivered at record speed, we hardly had time to put our cutlery down when the plate was cleared and the next course arrived. At 1.30, that would have been 30 minutes after we should have been given our table we were asked to move to the bar for our coffee's as the table was needed again for the next set of customers. We did not feel that was good enough and it certainly spoilt the whole meal. I would think twice about booking another lunch at this restaurant."
    dined on 28/02/2014
  • "Delicious food, well presented and fantastic attention to detail. Like the fact that even though we went for the set menu we were still offered an Amuse Bouche and after dinner chocolates, both of which were excellent. Set menu options are not extensive but beautifully executed. It is a relaxed, funky dining room. Would definitely return."

  • "Behind an unassuming facade that looks like a group of knocked together Georgian Terraces on Richmond's riverside, Bingham is a well-hidden gem. As soon as you enter you feel spoiled, such is the wonderful ambiance. The dining rooms are impeccably dressed in fine table linens and have exceptional views of the river. The a la carte and tasting menus are very tempting, but I visited for a business lunch, and so restricted myself to the set menu. It was exceptionally good. I chose the white artichoke salad with hen's egg and hollandaise to start, the gnocchi for my main, and a lychee and passion fruit parfait to finish. All washed down with an exquisitely crisp 2011 South African Chardonnay from the Lourensford Estate. Highly recommended!"

  • "The Bingham has become my favourite restaurant. The view is lovely, and the staff are charming, knowledgable and attentive without being intrusive. We have had several "special occasion" meals and have always thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The food is imaginative and always perfectly cooked. In particular: the duck egg and asparagus was rich, creamy and delicious, the beef was melt-in-the-mouth perfection, and the peanut mousse is well worth a return trip! We would certainly recommend The Bingham."

  • "This was our third visit to the Bingham for lunch. The food is consistently excellent and the service very helpful and friendly. Lovely views if you get a table near the window. Unfortunately on this occaision we did not have a such a table, although one was requested at booking."

  • "£15 for a 3 course linch in restaurant of Bingham's quality must not be missed!"

  • "The restaurant is a stunning looking room and the ambiance is delightful. You can see a real effort is made to make it a special experience. I went for a special birthday celebration with my parents, visiting the restaurant for the first time. We were thrilled when we started out and thought the menu looked high quality. I was slightly put off that the mains were from £23-28, but figured it is a nicer high end restaurant. When the main meals arrived we were all slightly taken a back on the size of the portions. They were smaller than we had expected and frankly, left us feeling slightly hungry. I am a regular diner and visit a whole range of restaurants; but found here that whilst delicious the main course portions were too small."

  • "We actually viewed the Bingham as a prospective wedding venue and decided to sample the Sunday lunch menu to judge the quality of the food. Whether Sunday lunch is a fair representation of the quality of the food they deliver on other days, I cannot say, but my lamb was too fatty and generally the food was pretty uninspired other than the risotto I began with. Service was good, atmosphere a little stuffy and the tables were too close really. The lounge/bar area has a vastly superior atmosphere but you can't eat in there. As a wedding venue we were not inspired, although it's recently one awards in this respect."

  • "In this age of franchises and high street chains it is a real pleasure to have this kind of quality restaurant in central Richmond. A must for any foodies. The toptable deal (£25 menu for 3 courses) really is worth it. Do not delay!"

  • "We eat at Binghams probably twice a year and I have to say it continues to deliver absolute top class food and service. The new chef has taken what excellent food and by minor touches of flair has added an extra level. I heartily recommend this restaurant ............ and we will be eating here again ourselves."

  • "The food was perfection, the quality, flavours and presentation just stunning. The staff and service was so friendly and polite altogether it was a very special dinner. The £25 for 3 course inc coffee and mineral water is amazing value."

  • "This year my wife and I decided to celebrate the new year with a fine lunch rather than try to find a suitable evening venue. We chose the Bingham as I have eaten both lunch and dinner there before and have always found the food to be excellent and a pleasant ambience in the small boutique hotel. We were not dissapointed; the quail entree was excellent as was the beef dish which followed. My wife had sea bass to start followed by a very good cod dish. Our waiter was attentive and was happy to assist in our wine choices. It was possibly a little more expensive than I had planned however I think it was worth paying a little extra for a fine meal in a very pleasant setting!! 5/5"

  • "Great restaurant with probably the best food in a Richmond. It is pricey but really worth it."
    dined on 23/12/2013
  • "We had the tasting menu and each course was perfectly prepared. The taste combinations were excellent with high quality ingredients. Wine pairings were equally good and service was friendly and efficient. Definitely recommend this, compares to some Michelin star restaurants we've visited!"

  • "Food still excellent. Dining room service very good but we had to leave bar on the dot of our table time (rather than perusing the menu in the bar)"
    dined on 19/12/2013
  • "great food delivered with excellent service - this was my first visit and it will certainly not be my last. We very much look forward to going there in the summer."

  • "Had a lovely birthday lunch at the Bingham with my fiance and parents. We have eaten here before - it isn't cheap but ok for special meals. We had the taster menu which was extremely good. A great selection of food, some amazing flavour combinations all served by very friendly, professional yet light hearted waiters. A little slow getting menus and wine to start with but they were very busy with Christmas and business lunches so I can forgive them that. Will certainly go again for my next birthday!"
    dined on 13/12/2013
  • "We enjoyed a very lovely evening meal at The Bingham. The food was incredibly tasty & beautifully presented, gorgeous surroundings & lovely staff who booked our taxis whilst we weresat at the table following payment so we didn't have to askthem. Keen to return again."

  • "A group of local musicians enjoyed an excellent lunch on Wed 11th December. The market menu was excellent value and we were treated to several amuse bouches as well! Service was exemplary with a brilliant sommelier helping us explore the extensive wine list. Ambience and the fact we were not rushed at all made for a superb pre Christmas dinner experience! The new chef is surely on the way to a Michelin star!"

  • "I took a client that I really like for Christmas lunch at The Bingham. I wanted somewhere smart but relaxed where I could look just a bit impressive at finding somewhere fabulous on his territory. I'm vegetarian and usually end up with sprout tops! but The Bingham's separate vegetarian menu was stunning. Pumpkin and quinoa was delicious. We asked the Maitre d' to choose wines and he chose a stunning red wine without breaking the bank. A wine that makes you go, 'Ooh, taste it with a bit of cheese.. no, no, try it with a bit of truffley foam'. I've rarely had such a good pairing to two very different meals. Very fine dining and very good prices for the market menu. I did however blow the budget in the cocktail bar afterwards."

  • "Simply fabulous! 5 star service, food, environment - already a favourite - you have to try the Bingham!"
    dined on 01/12/2013
  • "The Bingham has become the foremost favourite for a special lunch or dinner locally. The food is of excellent quality and executed with precision. The venue is wonderful and intimate despite being airy. We had the best time and loved every second. Superb value with the market menu but allow your savings to go on some excellent wine choices. Speak to Davide for some out of the box wine options."
    dined on 22/11/2013
  • "We were married at The Bingham and it seemed a natural choice to return for a lunch to celebrate our first anniversary. As per our wedding the service was impeccable, the food outstanding and the ambience, location and setting perfect. A wonderful celebration for us bringing back fabulous memories of our special day. Cannot recommend this place highly enough as what you get is the personal service befitting such a place."
    dined on 17/11/2013
  • "The Bingham is the nearest I have got to an outstanding French gastronomic meal in west London. Although Shay Cooper may have moved on the food is still outstanding, the wine list impressive and the service very pleasant. The slow cooked beef and baby vegetables for the Sunday lunch is truly magnificent. As an Englishman who loves his roast beef and yorkshire pudding, this oft eaten dish still blew me away. A must."
    dined on 23/06/2013
  • "We dined at Bingham on Saturday evening; an early slot 6.30pm. We had a pre-drink in the bar beforehand; the music and guests were very loud! We moved to the dining room and our food was exceptional. I am vegetarian and they produced a vegetarian menu; much to my delight. We will return again and sample the tasting menu."

  • "My husband and I had a wonderful experience at the Bingham. We chose to have the tasting menu along with the paired wines. It was amazing! They were very accomadating as well. Our plans changed twice before we got there, and it was no problem at all. I would definitely recommend the Bingham, and would gladly dine there again."

  • "It ticked all the boxes for an upmarket restaurant, but there wasn't the charm that I have received elsewhere that makes you feel very special in the right restaurants. They forgot us, and then messed up again, which isn't a train smash (we are all human, we all have clients and make mistakes...) but then the apologies were so effusive that it made me feel bad. A bit of warmth from the maître d at the beginning or afterwards would have pre-empted that awkwardness or smoothed it over in seconds, but it was left to one hardworking waiter alone, and we saw no one else until they threw us out at the end. A quick fix and the use of my name would have meant it was forgotten, and the end of the evening would have felt like a warm goodbye."
