First, we were given a free glass of Prosecco as there was a minor confusion about our booking- actually we were totally relaxed about the confusion but the freebie was a nice touch which set the tone for an excellent dining experience. The food is fantastic with super fresh ingredients and delicious flavours. Also excellent value. Now, fifty years later I took my wife and family to lunch as a celebration. The service was excellent, food was lovely and the wine list was appealing but, as always in restaurants, grossly over-priced.

The menu choice is varied with excellent specials offered daily. The service was attentive & waiters knowledgeable on the food on offer. The portions were generous & greatly enjoyed judging by the empty plates! The food was excellent and the party atmosphere and dancing until 2.00am made it a New Years Eve to remember. You feel like you could have had a rustic fine dining experience, the flavours are intense and authentic and the service is very natural and friendly. The lunch and dinner menus that the place offers are also good value but the a la carte is not too expensive either. Really good food and a nice setting, Blackheath is lovely for a stroll before dinner and the restaurant has a 30's feel to it. We had winter veg soup/ burrata to start - both fantastic! The butternut squash ravioli was absolutely sublime, as was my sea bass. Lovely service, great coffee and delightful setting. Sadly, we didn't have room for dessert. I can't recommend it highly enough!

The food was superb as always and the service friendly, helpful but not overdone.
