Great ambience, even greater foodWe had a great Sunday brunch at Barbecoa. We had window table looking on St. Paul's Cathedral dome. Smoked pork short ribs were great.
Beer selection is a little short, but decent. Not sure about the wines.19/05/2013 00:00:00Food was very good, good sizeFood was very good, good size portions and cooked perfectly. The atmosphere was wonderful, we were seated by the window, right overlooking St. Paul's which really is quite an impressive view from a restaurant. The staff were great, very attentive; overall a really excellent night.18/05/2013 00:00:00Great food, great service.Went there on Saturday, we were running late due to London traffic but they kept the table for us, the food was really good and so was the service. My only comment was there was a party of guys sitting quite close who were swearing quite a bit and being quite boisterous. The staff tried to calm them down but it didn't always work. It was still a great night though.18/05/2013 00:00:00Best meat ever! This was one of my and my friends best restaurant visits ever! To celebrate my best friends 50th birthday at Barbecoa could'nt be better. Excellent food, top class service. Ambience best ever! The wiev from our table with St Pauls Cathedral was outstanding!18/05/2013 00:00:00Girlie business catch up6 girls - loads of chatter great atmosphere, food great and great atmosphere. Perfect16/05/2013 00:00:00GreatFrom Brazil we have heard about James Oliver, followingo his TV programs and now we could confirm how great food his brilliant talent can do. Congratulation to all his staff.16/05/2013 00:00:00exceptional meal and serviceBarbacoa remains a reliable choice - great location overlooking St. Paul's Cathedral. Wait staff attentive and proactive regarding vegan options, however changing a mushroom side for spinach without asking first was a bit much. Meat obviously a huge hit - but the pickled veggies and coctails are worth going for in themselves. The only negative is the sound volume - far too loud.16/05/2013 00:00:00Great service, views, night.Booked two months in advance from Australia and asked for a view of the Cathedral. We were given the best seats in the house. Service was great. Every request was met cheerfully and quickly without being too intrusive. We had the pork cheek to start, which was simple and very moist and tasty. My partner had a steak and I had a huge rib, both of which were cooked well. Mash with garlic was to die for and mushroom side was very flavoursome also. We very much enjoyed the experience. The only possible negative is that the floor-to-ceiling glass that provides such a beautiful view unfortunately also makes the room very noisy so I would recommend it more for parties or groups rather than couples.15/05/2013 00:00:00Quality meat and wonderful viewsWe had a round table for 3 people with wonderful views of St. Paul. The restaurant is very open so you get a view pretty much from every table. The menu is meat, meat and more meat. The waiter was very friendly, as was the rest of the service, and came with the specials of the day that included one fish dish. We went for the burger, the pulled pork and the barbecued beef and they were all outstanding. Good details, like olives on ice. The mixed breads were also particularly good.13/05/2013 00:00:00BARBECOAHere we come for excelent food, good vue and friendly service. Thankyou for a lovely evening witk very good meals, a lovely staff with a nice helping hand, where no questions was a bed question, but friendly answered and with humor. We would enjoy another visit next time in London. Greetings to the staff and thankyou to all.
Povl Thomsen, Denmark13/05/2013 00:00:00Food Glorious FoodWe went as a party of four for my wife's **th birthday celebration. Everything was just perfect. the view. the decor and the service. The waiter we had really was brilliant in that nothing was too much trouble. We all had a different type of steak and we all enjoyed it. The desert was really delicious.12/05/2013 00:00:00Lush steak!A warm welcome? Yes.
A romantic setting? Yes - very nice views of St. Paul's.
Friendly staff? All of the staff were very friendly.
What was the drinks selection like? It was varied and extensive and lovely. It was nice to see a beer selection that was eclectic and didn't have any of the usual boring lagers and ales.
What were the starters like? We went for the two salads on the menu and both we're delectable. We also had the bread selection which was one of the best we've ever had and just like the bears it was eclectic.
And the mains? We chose the t-bone and sirloin and both we're amazing - slices of heaven.
What about the sides? This was the only let down in the entire meal as they we're luke warm and bland.12/05/2013 00:00:00This was our second time inThis was our second time in Barbecoa and we loved it even more! We were given a great table with the spectacular view, food was outstanding and service was very friendly. One of our friends had to leave early to catch his flight and they made a special effort to bring everything on time. Very nice restaurant - highly recommend!11/05/2013 00:00:00Great brunch with great viewArrived with low expectations due to various reviews, but left very happy! Food is amazing! Just arrived back from NYC, but pulled pork at Barbecoa was better than what we had in the big apple! French toast with bacon, maple syrup & peaches was a bit sweet, but what did I expect from those ingredients?! Fab drink selection and great service. Can't wait to come back for a dinner experience!11/05/2013 00:00:00Great birthday locationI took my boyfriend to Barbecoa as a birthday treat, I wasn't worried that the quality of food wouldn't be great, but was so impressed by the service, the way you felt looked after and the whole ambience of the restaurant, relaxed but still felt like an 'occasion.' I'd recommend Barbecoa to anyone! Amazing food, attentive staff and a really laid back enjoyable time!11/05/2013 00:00:00Super bra restaurangDenna restaurang har super god mat och utmärkt service! Vår kypare hete Gregory hur ofta kommer man ihåg vad kyparen heter? Så bra tyckte vi det va!11/05/2013 00:00:00Good food, Good ServiceMy wife and I visited Barbecoa for the first time on 10 May 2013 and we were not diappointed. The service was very good and the food was great. My wife had the pulled pork and I had the pit beef. Both dishes were amazing and as neither of us could decide between the two, we shared each others.
The only negative I had was the pecan pie dessert. This might sound silly but there were too many pecans in it. I would have preferred a slightly softer centre to accompany the pecans. The bourbon ice cream was fantastic.10/05/2013 00:00:00Service was excellent. GreatService was excellent. Great food and superb wine list. Will certainly make another visit!10/05/2013 00:00:00ExcellentExcellent fare at Barbecoa. One small complaint, the chairs weren't all that comfortable, other than that - we'll be back.10/05/2013 00:00:00Great food with an awesome viewFood is good, but the view on St Pauls makes it oustanding. Service was outstanding, our waitress smiled genuinly and explained a lot about our food. 1 point of feedback is the draft from the aircon was extremely cold at one part of pur table and was unconfortable.10/05/2013 00:00:00Great Dining ExperienceThe Service was Excellent the Food was excellent what more can I say.10/05/2013 00:00:00Wow!!!Food was brilliant....I had the venison and was cooked perfectly. If you love your meat then this is the place to go...would recommend to everyone.10/05/2013 00:00:00checking out 3 chefs in 2 days!Did Barbecoa as the first which included Marco P W in the evening at the Steak and Ale House and the Gordon R at Claridges. All different experiences all very good but would choose Jamie O's for a more regular visit as the food and ambience is so relaxed and just right. Also special mention for our waitress - just excellent.
One point though Jamie needs to check out Aiden Byrne - he does the best chips bar none - get these right then 100%
Well done on getting our 3 chefs in 2 days off to the very best of starts.10/05/2013 00:00:00Excellent food and good serviceThe food was delicious, the service was very good. It's quite a lively restaurant, so nice for a group but maybe not first choice for a romantic meal for two.10/05/2013 00:00:00Great place to eat with lots helpI took Russian friend with me the staff were excellent ! the wine waiters first class puts Hestons Mandarin in Knightsbridge to shame and the food !
we went many top food places that 9 days
Jamies place wins hands down on all
well done Jamie10/05/2013 00:00:00Barbecoa 06MAY13From the welcome, to the detail about our drinks from the barman, to the table vista of St Paul's, to the service, to the food, the whole experience was really special. We'd definitely go again, once we've saved up..!05/05/2013 00:00:00Barbecoa a great place to eatWent for a family treat and no one was dissappointed. Food was excellent, service excellent, staff very knowledgable and helpful. The pulled pork is awesome as was the steak. One member of our party is vegetarian and, although limited selection it was delicious and she was more that happy. Definintely be back :-)04/05/2013 00:00:00Fab FoodWe sat at the window mid afternoon, it was too hot... so don't get a window seat in the future our waitress was very attentive, but topped my glass up which already had overly priced bottled water in with tap water... and also dribbled red wine in it...
But food was fab, really nice... lamb was lush and my wife Katie had pork shoulder which was perfect.04/05/2013 00:00:00exelentEverything great exept the fact that service was a little to fast. We hadn't finished our pre-dinner drinks when starters arrived.04/05/2013 00:00:00lovely eveningI was visiting my daughter while she studied in London this spring - we had been so impressed with our meal at Union Jacks at Covent Garden early in my trip that we made Jamie Oliver's restaurants our preferred meal spot when possible. We were so happy to get a reservation at Barbacoa on a beautiful Sat night; our table with St Paul's in the background was perfect. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal, particularly the lamb skewer (especially the sausage!) and ash roasted sweet potatoes, although the Barbacoa Burger was not special. We hope to get back another time...04/05/2013 00:00:00Fantastic but...Fantastic the views from the restaurant to the Cathedral, excellent de meat quality and its cooking, very good service but... with too much background noise and the wine was served at the hot room temperature( real pity).
Anyway my child, my wife and I enjoyed the dinner and subsequently reccomend this lovely experience.03/05/2013 00:00:00best dinner till now!!!-very friedly waitress
-super location (view to st. pauls cathedral)
-very delicious food
-it was a complete genious evening
-see you next time03/05/2013 00:00:00Excellent food, stylish interior,Excellent food, stylish interior, great view, but please, next time some degrees less room temperature ! Nevertheless, next time I'll be in London, I hope to find the time to come back and have another fabulous dinner !
Thanks.03/05/2013 00:00:00Loved the Ribs and Pulled Pork :-)Went there with 2 friends to eat some great BBQ food.
Ambience is not that romantic/lovely - a little loud because of the waiting hall character - but you have a great view on St. Pauls Cathedral from every place.
Ordered duck and ribs as a starter and both was amaaaazing ! Second course was filet (ordered medium, but was more well done :-( ) and Pulled pork with Spinach and Sweet Potato as Side Dish - which was really tasty !
Had some nice Pornstar Martinis and a Cheesecake afterwards.
Staff was always friendly and kept an eye on us.
All in all enjoyed our stay there and will be back again - despite of spending 180 Pounds for 3, which is quite heavy....02/05/2013 00:00:00Best Chateaubriand in agesWe were impressed by the food quality. The myth of serving one of the best steak experiences was surely matched.. The Chateaubriand was aged and cooked to perfection, subtle undertones of the wood it was cooked on. Prior to that we had on of the best chicken liver pâtés ever, delicate in texture and balanced in taste. All this matched with excellent service. Definitely. An experience.01/05/2013 00:00:001st experienceFantastic first experience with our french friends, we loved the food, the refined presentation, the view onto the kitchens. The staff is very helpful, we had an amazing time! can't wait to come back!30/04/2013 00:00:00absolutely fantasticLove the ambiance - chic deco, friendly and unpretentious crowd. Highly reco. you choose a seat facing the St Paul's cathederal so you can see how it changes from day till night. Food is incredible; wine selection is great with detailed explanation. Particularly love the crew, they are fun, helpful and makes me feel at ease30/04/2013 00:00:00Very informative, friendlyVery informative, friendly staff.
Delicious food and quick service.30/04/2013 00:00:00LunchI had the ceviche of scallops (£12) which was delicious, followed by the sirloin (£32) with sides extra at about £4 each. The beef was one of the tastiest and tender cuts that I have experienced, superb! Service was very attentive without being obtrusive. We had a table with a super view of St Paul's. The lunch was a semi-business occasion, so it was pleasant to find that we were able to chat with ease without battling with intrusive background noise. Both my guests were very impressed with their lunches too. An overall hit. Slightly on the expensive side at £70 a head for 2 courses a glass of house white (delicious) and a third of a bottle of Rioja (£35) each followed by coffee, but to be expected for eating out in the City.30/04/2013 00:00:00It was our first experienceIt was our first experience in a Jamie Oliver Restaurant. It was an absolute fantastic experience, cool atmosphere, very gentle service, very very good food!!
Can´t wait to go back!!!28/04/2013 00:00:00Sunday lunchWe quality of the meats were outstanding. Definetly the best.28/04/2013 00:00:00Meat, personal "roundtrip"Fantastic meat, good service, excebtable fortcoming manager. We were given a roundtrip by the manager that made us feel special.28/04/2013 00:00:00Great dinner, awesome viewLovely place and a must see/eat when you're visiting London for a few days. I tried the Pit Beef, which was prepared on the Texas smoker. Amazingly tender, smokey and rich. I chose the Goose Island 312 Urban Wheat Ale to accompany my main course. The amazing fresh twang of fruit, combined with an almost honey like feel made it great to drink and cut through the smokiness of the beef. I also shared a plate of bread, which was a combination of surprising flavours. The only part I had a tiny problem with was the service, which offered wines, starters etc. a little too thoroughly for my taste. However, they're not too pushy and you can view this as simply 'good service'. For the romantics amongst us; the view of St. Paul's is AMAZING.28/04/2013 00:00:00It was my first time in LondonIt was my first time in London - and that is my review:
Barbecoa is a special place, with special atmosphere and special meals for special people.28/04/2013 00:00:00Good food and excellent environmentGood food and excellent environment! A good range of alcoholic drinks to choose from. Will recommend to my friends and go back again in the future.27/04/2013 00:00:00FABULOUS ALL ROUNDAmazing setting over looking St Paul's cathedral. The place has a great buzz - even in the afternoon when we visited. For BBQ food as good as the USA this is the place. Wine also not bad value - we had a great Argentinian Malbec. Service was without fault.27/04/2013 00:00:00Service was exceptional, foodService was exceptional, food easily matched this leading to a great all round experience. Views over St. Paul's Cathedral are ideal.27/04/2013 00:00:00Seriously Good FoodThis was my 3rd visit to the restaurant and it always manages to maintain a consistently high quality experience. The staff all wear extremely non discrete black walkie-talkie ear pieces so you feel a little over burdened by the special branch style security, but that fades away as soon as you sit down and you just relax into your surroundings.
The menu is full of delicious options and you simply want to try everything: I settled for the bread starter and the fillet steak with bone marrow as my main: Without doubt Barbecoa serves the best steak I've ever eaten. Seared with a perfect char crust, yet deliciously moist in the middle, they're not afraid to use salt which just brings out the buttery taste of the 35 day hung meat: Amazing!27/04/2013 00:00:00This was the 4th time we beenThis was the 4th time we been here. Love this restaurant. Very nice service and friendly staff. The food was great as usual. A bit of a wait because it was Saturday and fully booked.27/04/2013 00:00:00Barbecoa experienceFirst glance it looks amazing. As you first walk in you are met by a person wearing a head set that tells you your table you booked isn't ready and asks you to wait in a packed bar area. This is the bad points because from there on its amazing. The service is brilliant and the food is to die for. The high ceilings opens the view of St. Paul's and makes it a perfect setting for romantic or groups really worth a look. Well done barbecoa27/04/2013 00:00:00
