Nice design and ambience, however not matched by the level of service and attentiveness of staff. Food was average too, especially for the price
Fantastic as usual
As always Bar Boulud doesn't disappoint. Food was amazing. Service outstanding. Sherif made our evening very special. Thank you all
Fantastic service, they took care of my husband who has coeliac disease and has a sever allergy to gluten and dairy! They were extremely careful. We dined as a family of 4 with two children under 5. Perfect location and close to harrods.
I ordered the pasta special -- butternut squash ravioli. It was tough and not even luke warm by the time it got to the table. Service was incredibly slow and not friendly. I will not be going back.
Excellent in any occasion
We love this restaurant and enjoy going there regularly , because one can eat at anytime, always finding something suitable (sometimes just a light meal , sometimes vegetarian, sometimes gourmet). Service is always impeccable, food delicious (try the tajine paté !) , in a relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommended.
Late lunch last minute booked with the help of Open Table. Special offer of 3 courses for £21 but with drinks costs a whole lot more. However the food was excellent and well deserved 5 stars from me. Presentation, ambience, flavours and service was superb. It was my birthday and they even gave me a little birthday chocolate too, Well done!
This is my second visit and definitely not my last. The menu is fabulous, catering amazingly for the fish and meat eaters (sorry, veggies, I didn't even look at your choices). THe bar has a great atmosphere, knowledgeable staff and an excellent wine selection. I've been with friends and now a business lunch and can't wait to go again.
Fantastic Friday night experience
Excellent food and service in a vibrant and relaxed atmosphere on a Friday night. The 'taster sausages' are a fantastic idea to enjoy a variety of sausages with different side dishes.
Nice place, service not so friendly, "too technical", not too much warmth No visible Manager
This evening was for my mother's birthday, the staff put my parents who are in their 70s on really hard seats so I had to ask for a table with soft seats for them.. then the wine waiter never came over , we waited about 15 mins or more, so I had to go up to 3 staff chatting away and ask them to come and take the order. This was not a good start. I go out to new places a lot and felt this was a disappointment. Also the crumble dessert was a few pieces of pear and what appeared to be a load of wizzy cream piped on top, not a crumble by my father's standard, would not return

Was really disappointed with this restaurant. Real shame and the food wasn't very good.
This is nothing more than a standard hotel bar/restaurant, the kind one finds in any random European five star hotel. We had heard about their great burgers, which were okay, but overpriced at £17. The portion of my maincourse of roasted monkfish was tiny, along with a sprinkling of vegetables. Almost no meat was actually available, due to the restaurant closing in a few days for a special event. The worse part of the experience was that the service was incredibly slow, even though we went early on a Sunday evening. The £180 bill for a light supper for four still left me hungry! I shall not be eating there again. London has many better places to eat at the upper end of the scale that offer far better service, and value for money. French cuisine is tasty, but the portions are tiny, and the French are not exactly known for their level of service!
very good fooding experience
One of the best gourmet brasserie ! very efficient service and very good food
Bar Boulud is a delightful place for a casual meal. Service is prompt and attentive, the ambiance is quite pleasant, and the food is usually good. On this occasion, however, the Coq au Vin failed to live up to expectations. It's usually served with a red wine sauce, which was absent from this dish, which consisted of a few pieces of sauteed chicken, some pork belly, a few mushrooms and a few pieces of farfalle. The addition of a red wine sauce, preferably used as a marinade for the chicken, would have been a great improvement.
Great value, even greater service
Nothing to fault here, service is tip-top, 2/3 course meal was outstanding value and I never felt rushed or "over-waited" on Highly recommend
Bar Boulud is one of my favourite restaurants and today was a 'thank-you' lunch for a very special friend. As always, they never disappoint. Even if the restaurant is crowded, you still receive excellent service. The wine list is more than adequate and their 2 & 3 course lunch menus offer good value; however, I usually order one of their burgers.
This is one of my favorite restaurants in London. The food and service are superb and the ambience delightful. I am not a wine drinker, but my friends are and the wine selection is great. Service is impeccable. They truly hit on all cylinders.
Great value set GBP21 for 3 courses
Booked a great value set at GBP21 for 3 courses including appetizer, main and dessert via top table for our anniversary dinner. Great food and extremely value for money. :) service was great too and they gave us a small complimentary cake with the words Happy Anniversary over it. What a sweet touch!
although the food and service was very good, I probably wouldn't visit again. For my liking there were far too many children. Also other diners were quite inconsiderate when it came to using mobile telephones. One male couple seated very close to us, spend the whole time either talking on their phones or worse still watching a motorcycle race with the sound turned up!!! Maybe the evenings are better, but not sure that I want to spend the money finding out
Good business lunch spot
I could recommend Bar Boulud as a business lunch spot as it seems that's what most of the dining room was filled with. Food was a little spotty. Boeuf Bourguignon was a bit dissapointing. Sauce was very thin and it was served over some very plain and unseasoned macaroni. By contrast, the Saffron Risotto was delicious and full of flavor, as was the boudin noir. Although we did not order any, the burgers seemed to be a big hit with everyone in the room, and looked great.

Very good cocktails and an excellent wine list. The burgers are very good. Desserts to die for.
Truly exceptional wait staff
Attentive and dare I say *fun* wait staff. Everyone was informative and welcoming. Made us feel well taken care of for a special occasion meal.
The halibut I ordered was way over-cooked. Waiters/Waitresses were friendly, but sadly could not remember which guests ordered what. Disappointing really, ruined the good impression of the place I had.
The food was delishous, service was poor!
The food was delishous, as was the wine we drank. The service was so so, our starters were cleared as the main course was served, with zero break inbetween. We then had a rather long gap before ordering dessert, promptly after which we were asked to move off into the bar area- most peculiar! But like I say the food and wine was great, as was the deal on a 3 course dinner for £19!
Always a solid bet. Never let down
Always a solid bet. Never let down
Four of us met at Bar Boulod for Sunday lunch (although we hadn't been aware a la carte wasn't served then) and tucked into a great buffet: beautifully presented, very tasty and varied, lovely charcuterie too. The main courses of moules were ok, the chicken and corn delicious and the fish pretty good. Two of us had panna cotta and both separately agreed it was inedible: the sugar of the panna cotta fought with the citrus and the addition of sorbet just didn't work at all: a great disappointment. The other puddings were fine. The service was attentive and very cheerful and the room itself airy with tables well spaced.
Lunch fir two
The set lunch was extremely good value Very seldom have a pudding but the chocolate mousse I could not resist
Had a good brunche Sunday with two good friends and one's Father. Spent about 3 hours having a leisurely meal and plenty of conversation. Great Sancerre. Good choice of food though not extensive. Service good not great. Had a number of good meals there before so will go again.

We were extremely well looked after by a waiter who helped us decide and made sure we had everything we needed. The food was delicious and it was a very enjoyable evening.
Service was fantastic, food was outstanding and the all round experience was amazing. Although it may be costly for some (that including me), for special occasions or a romantic meal it is well worth the money.
Fantastic value set menu
We enjoyed a delicious 3-course set meal for £19.00 which was not only amazing value but excellent quality. The food can not be faulted and the service was immaculate. The waiting staff really show expertise of working in this type of restaurant and were very attentive. Thoroughly enjoyed the meal and would definitely go again. Drink prices are high but not extortionate for a "fancy" restaurant in London.

The waiting staff were wonderful but a bit disorganised. Furthermore, a breakdown in the logistics of the kitchen meant our main course was considerably delayed. Our food, however, was delicious!
Fantastic food, attentive and knowledgeable staff. The set menu is great value, 3 courses for £19 is a steal
Best burger in town
It is not cheap but the piggy burger is something I go there especially for. We did have quite a long wait between first and main course but service was great. Not a lot of choices when it came to dessert but what we had was tasty, the chocolate one and the macaroon based one.
Warm welcome by the receptionist. Good atmosphere and nice place. The food is good and value for money.
This brasserie never let's you down. The staff are very helpful indeed and the food always good with a very interesting menu to suit everyone. The wines tend to be expensive however which bumps the price up as the food isn't that expensive. Would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Although I was raised in London this was my the first time to the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Hyde Park and was extremely excited to be dining at such a prestigious venue. The expectations I had prior to arriving were unfortunately not met and this was somewhat disappointing as my partner and I were celebrating an anniversary. First of all we were sat right alongside another party of guests who had 2 small children under the age of 5 years old, not the romantic setting we were hoping for. We then asked to move seats , which we did and the seating was better. The starters on the set menu was a little bland and there wasn't a great deal of variety, Pate, Cous Cous and Soup! Main was ok, although accompanying side dishes were rather on the expensive side and then to complete the meal I requested a green tea and it took almost 20 minutes for them to bring it over! Overall I wasn't impressed with the ambience, service or food and don't think I would bother to return, particularly if I was looking for a restaurant for a special occasion. I didn't feel special, it all felt rather high street food chain average.
Great value for money
We ordered the 3-course set menu for £19 and the set includes coffee or tea. The quality of food was superb and the service was great. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Even though it is at the Mandarin Oriental, in Knightsbridge, far too expensive For the quality of the food. We were surprised not to be given the Open Table option. Service very good, though.
Good to meet up with friends especially with special occasion. A warmth welcome from reception and the staff there are friendly and helpful. Everyone there are nice and friendly. We felt very comfortable even we are waiting for a friend who is late. The atmosphere is warmth and good. The food are excellent and beautifully, most important is tasty. It is very good value for money. Highly recommend to friends.
