The process of choosing a wine to pair with the meal was an interesting discussion. They have very good staff-to-table ratio. Even though the area we were seated in was quite busy on the day we went, we received good attention whenever needed. It is a little more expensive than an average burger (about £12) but i really enjoyed it. Their cocktails are pretty pricey at £13 each so this restaurant could be saved for a special occasion.

Very busy restaurant, nice atmosphere and not pretentious, perfect for a casual Saturday night meal.
I was longing to go to Bar Boulud as I had heard rave reviews about the burgers there and they certainly lived up to the expectations.
We shared a sharing platter of cold meats to begin with which was very good also. My husband opted for the lamb for his main which he enjoyed however found the portion very small (especially for a man with a big appetite!).

The wine list was extensive with bottles from £30 to £18k! but there are plenty of good wines for under £50. Overall a decent meal for two with wine and water and service came to £150 which is pretty good value for this part of town in such a good venue. It would be wonderful to sit there for a few hours and enjoy the menu but the seating is too cramped for a relaxed dinner (its is, after all, a bistro) and the chair I had felt almost worn out (why do so many good restaurants have such uncomfortable chairs?). We ate before going to the Albert Hall and to start the restaurant was quiet but soon filled up and had a nice buzzy atmosphere. The food was very good....there seemed to be mustard with most choices we made which was strong in the starters but not unpleasant. I am a big fan of rustic fare and the menu is great...with terrific burgers and sausages, charcuterie etc. Its my go-to restaurant every time I fly through London and have a chance to pop into town for lunch or dinner.

I'd eaten here previously on business and loved the food and atmosphere, the casual but super efficient service & the fact that you can select a reasonable range of pretty good wines by the glass - something for everyone. Food was great; my wife went for the lamb which was delicious, I had the French Onion Soup to start; spot on, and the little Frenchie pattie burger which was lovely as main; no fuss. The desserts were fabulous. Only real gripe was that our table for 2 was squeezed in a line of 4 and so we had 3 pairs of business guys talking shop loudly all evening next to us. The bill came to about 250 pounds for two, including a 110 pound bottle of Chardonnay, but we enjoyed the evening greatly. Interesting food, very well cooked. You really felt that they had selected the ingredients with care, and the aim of the cooking was to bring out the flavours rather than show off the chef's artistry.
Excellent service - hordes of waiters. I was struck by the wine list - lots of names that were new to me, and they seem to want to go off the beaten track - they specifically have a section of wines listed as alternatives to classic Bordeaux and Burgundy.

We were not at any stage left wondering if we had been forgotten about, which happens so frequently in other establishments. The food was simply lovely, both the starter and the main course and I think now we will have to go back to enjoy the burgers that we saw flying out of the kitchen.
