Bacco Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Good authentic Italian restaurant
I've been here a couple of times now, and it offers good authentic Italian food in a nice & relatively quiet atmosphere
Happy to go the extra mile
I have long been a fan of Bacco for business meals and their special themed evenings as well as any number of "let's go there" occasions, but this time they certainly went the extra mile. Unknown to me my guest was a vegan who phoned ahead to warn them and a delicious special meal was prepared for her without any fuss. The welcome is always warm and the food scrumptious.
First time but not the last...
We needed somewhere close to the Curzon cinema in Richmond, and after MUCH searching settled on Bacco. It was a great choice (other options all appeared to have 'faults' from previous reviews but Bacco was quite 'neutral'. In my view this is an excellent restaurant overall and certainly did not disappoint. Ask to be away from the door (as we did having read previous reviews!) and the ambience will be good.
Lovely meal after theatre.
Great food, good service, excellent wines, gluten free options carefully explained.
Good but service little slow
Service was a bit slow, but otherwise enjoyable, food v nice
Bacco consistently relaible
I often eat a Bacco pre theatre because the service is always prompt, friendly and the food and wine list, excellent. It has the aura of a traditional stylish Italian restaurant without being flash or pretentious...perfect. Thank you again Bacco
good Italian meal
very nice welcome. Table was near open door so we closed it. Bread and olives to begin followed by Aubergine dish for both of us. For mains I had veal escalopes(a bit chewy) and mash and David had Tagliolini pasta with truffle shavings. Both were ok nothing to get excited about. Next time I will have the Ravioli which is always very good. We washed this down with an excellent bottle of chilled Verdicchio. Desserts were good home made traditional Tiramisu and D had the Semifredo. Good coffee and Frangelico. We will return
Best Italian Restaurant in London
Says it all, highly recommend. Been here many times and looking forward to our next visit!!
We had a pre-theatre meal on Saturday night. Although the restaurant was quite busy the service and food was excellent.
We had dinner for two and we were but in a room with a table of 20+ people who were having a celebration dinner. No fault of theirs but they were having a great time and and consequently very noisy, so much so that one of the guests came over and apologised. The restaurant made no attempt to move us or even ask if we were ok. It seemed the manager purposely stayed away from us. The waitress did her best but trying to serve us and the large table proved a challenge for the waiting staff and the kitchen and our food was very slow in comming. On the plus side the pasta and wine were good and I probably would go back and try again.
Excellent food and service
Excellent food and service Nice place Quiet enough for a business conversation at lunchtime
overall great choice!
There was a great selection of choice and ambiance was great. The bathrooms are less and value for Money was a bit overpriced but overall great choice!
We have been to Bacco several times for pre-theatre meals. The food and service has always been excellent.
Best pasta I've had in London.
Best pasta I've had in London.
Best Italian Restuarant in Richmond
We are very sad to see our outstanding Maître De go but are expecting great things for the future. We will keep you posted. The food remains outstanding and the staff still friendly and knowledgeable. We look forward to our return. Recommend to friends.
Very nice. Would definitely go again.
Very nice. Would definitely go again.
Very nice food, freshly cooked pasta and risotto
Very nice food, freshly cooked pasta and risotto. Needs more of a wow factor and some specials would help.
Excellent service and an enjoyable meal
We have been to Bacco several times before for pre-theatre meals and have always enjoyed it. The food, atmosphere and service has always been excellent and I would thoroughly recommend.
Our table for 2 was laid out so we were adjacent (not opposite). Staff were attentive including the fastidious new waiter and the amusing experienced hand. The food was good and a chance to eat carparchio again.
Lovely place, lovely staff, lovely food! Definitely worth a visit.
A lovely place for good food and service.
Good food; great wine; relaxed and friendly service; good value. We will keep coming back.
Delicious Food and friendly staff
We visited for the first time for a birthday dinner, and the staff were very friendly (although they took 5 minutes to warm to us). The service was swift and clean, and the food offerings were very varied - there is something for everybody. The atmosphere was relax and we could have a nice conversation without being drowned out by loud customers which is a rare feat sometimes! The food was simply wonderful, it's the best spaghetti I have ever eaten! Thank you.
We had dinner before we went to the theatre and the food was excellent and staff brilliant. My friend was held up in traffic and when she arrived late a glass of wine was ready and they were flexible when my main course arrived. They asked first if we were going to the theatre and ensured we left in time. Food was excellent we had the set pre-theatre menu and it was great value for money. Highly recommend this restaurant
Went for early dinner booking confirmed owner told us that resterant did not open for another half hour did let us sit down and let us order a glass of wine food average and expensive
Not good enough
Bacco's pre theatre menu was unimaginative and poor value compared to other restaurants in the area. And I think the waiter resented serving it.
We have eaten here a few times pre & post theatre & have always found the staff very friendly & helpful. The crab linguini is a favourite.
Couldn't have wanted for more!
This restaurant was really first rate. A friendy and attentive welcome and outstanding service throughout. A good selection of dishes to choose from all expertly designed and cooked. There are not many independent restaurants in Richmond as rent and rates are high, so if ones been there for a long time (as Baccos has) it must be doing something well. This does better than doing something well, it is fantastic and with a small room on the side a perfect venue for a small business function or family gathering!
Nice feel to the place - more upmarket than your run of the mill Italian restaurant or pizzeria. Menu looks promising but unfortunately the food is bland - it lacks seasoning. I never add salt to food (only in cooking) but I had to in order to get some taste. I used to live in Italy so I know what the food should taste like. I went to Bacco twice in one month, wanting it to be better the second time. But sadly not. And it's not cheap. A real shame.
Consistently high quality , fresh food.
We have eaten here many times and always find the food to be beautifully prepared and cooked. This time was just a pre theatre visit and we chose from the main menu instead of the fixed price. I actually thought it was rather expensive; £9.00 for TWO tiger prawns with 'Italian couscous' seems rather a lot of money for a starter. It was all as nice as ever, it's just that the bill, on this occasion, seemed extremely expensive for what we got.
We have been to this restaurant a number of times. We find the food and service of a consistently high standard. It is a very good " local Italian"
I made my reservation for Bacco 2 months in advance for a Valentines day dinner. The week before we were due to attend I received a call from a member of staff asking me if I still wanted to go ahead with the reservation and advised if I wanted to keep hold of the table, I would need to pay a £20 deposit per person! I reluctantly paid given we had been looking forward to the evening .When we arrived I was shocked at the table I was being offered, it had been crammed in to a tiny gap between other diners, the wall behind had a concrete pillar instead of a pillowed back drop that the other diners had, the chair looked like a spare, didn’t match the other interior.I told the waitress I wasn’t prepared to accept it,to my shock the answer was "We are very busy today with the rugby and valentine, this is the only one available". I advised my reservation was made 2 months in advance for our special evening and I had even paid a deposit to ensure we didn’t lose out.I advised her that if she could not offer anything better I would take a refund of the deposit& find another more suitable venue in Richmond. They finally found us another table. The second one was more suitable, however, being located outside of the restaurants toilets meant a constant flow of other diners passing by our table. We then were presented with a limited menu with very little variation or choice. We were advised that this was because it was Valentines day and there were very few options available as it had been a busy day with the England rugby match. We had only 5 choices for starters and 5 for main courses. When the food arrived I have to be honest and say it was awful. Calamari bland and tasteless and 3 tiny scallops that were also very poor given the price we were being asked to pay. For our mains we ordered crab linguine & lamb, being Italian myself I was shocked at not only the lack of quality of the food but also the portion size. The final insult was the 12.5% service charge!
Good value lunch menu
Good value lunch menu, pre-theatre matinee. Excellent service, very tasy food.
Lovely pasta, nice flavours and solid service. Always a favourite.
Pre and Post theatre dining
Two recent visits: - pre theatre which was good: tasty well presented food and served in a timely manner - post theatre which was a disappointment: starter (aubergine) was poorly presented being simply a rectangle cut off a larger dish and stodgy; main course (guinea fowl) was good. BUT both courses were VERY expensive for what they were
Dinner at Bacco Richmond
My wife and I dined at Bacco to mark her birthday. It was a Monday evening, and even though there were not too many diners in, there was still a good ambience. There was music in the background, but nothing too obtrusive. We have dined there on a number of occasions, and as always the food was excellent! We were treated to a new starter (free) to evaluate for the head chef, which was a duck salad. It was really nice, so we were able to give positive feedback. When my wife's desert was served, there was a candle on it for her birthday, and the owner sang Happy Birthday to her which was a nice touch. A really good dining experience, all round, and I would have no hesitation in recomending this as a great place to eat.
We booked this as a pre theatre birthday outing. The staff couldn't have been more welcoming. We were given a small glass of bubbly on arrival and a small ice cream with candle at the end of the meal. We chose from the al a carte menu as couldn't find anything we wanted on the special pre theatre menu. The starters of duck salad and carpaccio were delicious. We both had the crab linguine. I ordered mine without chilli which was no problem. Mine came and looked very different from my husbands. There was very little topping or sauce. We spoke with the waiter and it was immediately taken away. It returned within minutes and was much better. Not sure what went wrong but sorted without too much fuss. It was very tasty. We would certainly return when back in the area.
This was the fourth time we have enjoyed...
This was the fourth time we have enjoyed the pre theatre meal at Bacco. Again the experience was positive. A friiendly welcome and wonderful food. We were sorry to have to depart to make it to theatre in time. The minestrone soup was wonderful - a fabulous flavour from something so simple. My fellow diners visiting the resaurant for the first time agreed they would return to sample the main menu in the future. Good attentive service too.
Good local Italian
We have visited Bacco a number of times. It is a good, reliable local Italian. The food is always good and the staff are friendly. Very convenient to the station for those that have to travel to/from Richmond.
Wonderful family meal
We all selected from the a la carte menu, although the fixed price looked equally appealing. Nobody was disappointed, except for the fact none of us could manage a dessert. The wine list is very reasonable and the home made bread and pasta delicious. We'll definitely return.
