The food was more than a cut above other Italian restaurants I have eaten at, with a great selection of specials and a good range catering to a broad set of tastes. The staff were really helpful and accommodating and very friendly. It was a Tuesday night just after Easter so not that busy but they made us feel very welcome. We dined on the 50% off offer so it was really good value and my colleagues were amazed when the bill came as we'd had quite a lot of wine over the course of the meal! The decor of the restaurant is smart. It's not that big so it feels intimate but without the tables being crowded in. After touring the nearby British Museum, I used toptable's local search to secure an early dinner reservation. We loved everything about the place. Service was great, wine was good and a reasonable list, with some great piedmontese values, and the food was wonderful. My wife's ravioli chard was terrific, and my lamb rack and neck was perfect, cooked just right, seasoned expertly and served in a great reduction and mashed potatoes. I had a very good tiramisu to top it all off. Can't wait to go back and take friends to show off our find! The food was beautifully prepared and of the highest quality. The olive/balsamic dipping breads were of the highest quality, my ashed goat cheese with beets and pear starter was amazing, and my main meal (scamorza cheese with aubergine) was stupendous. Wines and cocktails were very good too.
The service was terrific too; friendly without being overbearing. On the downside? The vegetarian options are limited (I could only find ONE vegetarian main meal on the menu - it turned out to be very nice indeed, but it would be good to have more choice). The main pasta dishes were really good especially the Venison tagliatelle and the King Prawn linguine. There were also some good quality house/starter price wines.
