The shine was taken off our experience by initially painfully slow service (and no bread to help us keep our hunger at bay while we waited) but the maitre d' rescued the situation with a free (and delicious) shared dessert (a very moreish caramel macaroon). Having booked initially for 3 people, we changed it at the last minute to 8 and then 9, which the restaurant dealt with very painlessly. The £19:50 two-course spring menu TT offer was superb value and offered surprisingly good choice (albeit materially more limited on the starter front). Service was amazing from the beginning. I had the lamb and my partner had the beef fillet both tasted delicious. For dessert we were provided with a platter of delicate fine pastries and cakes! My boyfriend had the chocolate cake and myself had the chocolate eclair - the waiter was very attentative and understanding when I couldn't decide between all the desserts and gave me a recommendation which was a fantastic choice! I finished with the best hot chocolate, I love hot chocolates and this one delivered! My boyfriend loves Irish coffees and even though it wasn't on the menu they happily made a delicous one for us. The staff at Aubaine are incredibly professional, the menu is diverse (and flexible) and the decor is excellent - understated and on the chic side of shabby chic.
My first choice for a business breakfast in Mayfair, hands down.
