Asia de Cuba - LondonGood experience over allWe had a really fun dinner here. The beef was really flavourful, the BBQ chicken was delish. Fu place for a Friday night out.18/05/2013 00:00:00Asia de Cuba is a great venueAsia de Cuba is a great venue and the food is excellent. The service really made the place stand out - attentive but not overbearing and very friendly.17/05/2013 00:00:00Great Pre Theatre DealIf you are looking for a treat before the theatre then this is the place to go. The food was excellent, a good choice for a set menu and the quality of the food was top notch. Knowing that you are on a short timescale each course is prepared quickly but you don't feel rushed. Definitely recommended.13/05/2013 00:00:00never lets you downGoing back to Asia de Cuba was a great experience: fixed menu had fantastic choices, food was both tasty and well presented, Mojitos were top notch, service was great and the venue has a nice ambience to it13/05/2013 00:00:00Gorgeous restaurantHighly recommend this place, it is one of our favourite restaurants. We went to celebrate our anniversary, as we come here every year. They welcomed us back like old friends, and the service was outstanding. We had the special offer menu, food was delicious as was the wine. They also gave us a glass of champagne on the house. Love this place.11/05/2013 00:00:00Buzzin'With the great buzzin' atmosphere, it would be likely that the food might suffer, but not a bit of it.
OK no 'fine dining' but the restaurant team were on the ball, the food was great , the tables spacious!!! and the lively pace of the place made it perfect to celebrate.
Even with large groups arriving when we did, the service was still personal.
The portions are really designed to share, so beware, although the odd one is suitable for one.
Puds are certainly for sharing, and the type of food to leave you full and happy.11/05/2013 00:00:00Excellent service and great foodIt is hard to find in a hotel that looks like a white office block. But the welcome is warm, Monica was friendly and attentive and the set menu although very limited is superb value. We had lunch before the theatre and found the food to be as elegant and quirky as the hotel. My dining companions are insisting I book for our next trip. Well worth a visit (or more I suspect)11/05/2013 00:00:00Wonderful eveningWe had a fantastic time at Asia de Cuba. The only downside was that despite sending me a confirmation email and calling me the day before, they claimed they had no record of my booking.
This was quite embarassing as we were there to celebrate a special birthday. However, they tried to make up for it by a complimentary glass of champagne each and spoiling the birthday girl with a special desert and candles.
Food was fantastic as always.10/05/2013 00:00:00Asia de cubaReally enjoyed our pre theatre great value meal there - ordered 3 different things each course and shared - nice09/05/2013 00:00:00Everything GreatThe biggest difference was the service . The guy who serviced us was unbeliveable nice person who makes everything special !!! He is from Israel .08/05/2013 00:00:00Our first visit, which weOur first visit, which we booked on toptable's pre-theatre deal - food was very good and excellent value in this format.04/05/2013 00:00:00Food and StaffNot only was the food excellent but the staff were extreamly friendy and attentive.
A very pleasant pre- theatre experience enjoyed by all 4 of us equally .04/05/2013 00:00:00Fantastic Meal and Service...From the moment we were shown to our table we knew this was going to be a wonderful experience and we were not disappointed. The surroundings are trendy, open and fit the food perfectly. The waiter recommended some dishes (to be washed down with a mojito which must be tried, jam jar and all...) and they did not disappoint, in particular the blackened cod was mouth watering and the calamari cooked to perfection.
After our meal the waiter reserved us a table in the bar and when we returned, delivered us a pudding to try...truly wonderful service and a must have experience for pre-theatre dining.
Thank you Asia De Cuba for a night not to forget....look forward to seeing you again soon.04/05/2013 00:00:00Something a little bit special.Had an amazing time here. The service was very relaxed and very helpful and it was a nice venue away from the streets of London.
We had the taster menu for 2, which was £55 on top table. The food was amazing and completely worth the money. Wine was also reasonably priced too, so a nice addition. I had also let them know that it was a special occasion so when they came out with desert they wrote a special note in sauce.
Would absolutely recommend and would consider going without a top table deal as well.03/05/2013 00:00:00The experience...Wonderful, different food which is great for sharing. Staff are very cool and down to earth; they help enhance the evening.
Thank you03/05/2013 00:00:00Glad we took the plungeWe are both vegetarians and had been hesitant on visiting, concerned about the number of vegetarian options. Friends convinced us to go and we are so glad that we decided to heed their advice. The atmosphere was fantastic, the service was very attentive but not overbearing and the food was absolutely delicious. We opted for the vegetarian taster menu which provides a wide variety of excellent starters and entrées and a dessert platter where each item is more-ish. We loved it and will be heading back for sure.03/05/2013 00:00:00First time - definitely not the lasWow! This place was amazing. I had seen it many times advertised on Toptable and thought it was probably ok as they always have offers on but how wrong was I. It was wonderful. The venue is amazing and the food was delicious. I went there with my daughter for a girly treat and we spent around £47 on a very satisfying 3 course meal including incredible mojitos. Every single mouthful was a treat! The Cuban donuts were delicious. One and only gripe - couldn't find it!! Had to ask someone and was then told it was in the hotel next door! Didn't realise it was in a hotel - maybe that should be stated as Asia de Cuba at the xxxx03/05/2013 00:00:00Great RestuarantI went there for my birthday celebrations for a pre theatre meal, the service was fantastic, the food was tasty and it was reasonably priced. It was a good atmosphere, even though we book an early slot as were going to the theatre. I would definitely recommended here. We were also given a complimentary cocktail which was amazing! The staff acknowledged that it was my birthday, which was a lovely touch as well. They also had an amazing array of rums which we could not try as we did not have time. The only problem we encountered was finding the place, as it is hidden in an hotel in Covent Garden.02/05/2013 00:00:00Another great meal at Asia de CubaAnother wonderful experience at Asia de Cuba, amazing food and the lobster mash is enough to make a beeline for this fabulous place.... highly recommended!30/04/2013 00:00:00Excellent food, must try!The food was delicious. There is no better combination as spicy Asian and fruity Cuban food. The service was excellent and the value really high. You can easily share a main dish when having 2 starters before. Great evening!30/04/2013 00:00:00Asia de CubaI recently visited Asia De Cuba for my friends 40 birthday. Our waiter was so professional and friendly, he pulled out the stops to make our evening special.
We had the pre theatre offer of 2 courses for £22 including a mohito and it was amazing value.
I will definately be back soon.30/04/2013 00:00:00Absolutely Outstanding! We were celebrating a birthday so decided to opt for the Tasting Menu experience which did not disappoint! Every dish was beautifully prepared, presented and tasted divine. We particularly loved the Mojito Sorbet ''intermezzo'' and the Ceviche. Washed down with bubbles, wine and everything served with a smile we could not fault anything about our evening. Our waiter was great fun and managed to treat the birthday girl to an extra mojito sorbet which we all found rather amusing! We were a group of four on this occasion but I have dined here before in larger groups - it has a great atmosphere, friendly and professional staff and the food is absolutely outstanding every time..30/04/2013 00:00:00MemorableEverything in Asia de Cuba is just right. The attention from the staff, the quality of the food, which is served at just the right time after the previous course, the ambience and the quirky styling of the restaurant itself. We had the Tasting menu and cannot fault anything. I will tell everyone I know that this is the place to go for an outstanding experience.26/04/2013 00:00:00Tasting menuTop marks for the tasting menu, starve yourself before though as there's enough food for an army!! Tuna the best I've ever had!25/04/2013 00:00:00Pre Theatre DinnerAs always such good value on the pre theatre deal. This time we were with my Auntie & Mum, and the waiter spoilt them both and was very accommodating to their needs, excellent.
The food was as great as ever, always consistently the same good flavours and style.
Will definitely return.25/04/2013 00:00:00Normally amazing food but.... not today.
I love this place and for me it was a repeat visit. However, on this occasion the service was absent. We had to chase for our drinks to be taken, then food, then waited 20 mins to get someones attention for the bill. Actually annoyed with myself for only dropping the service charge from 15.0% (???) to 10.0%.
Food was ok but below normal standard. Different chef ? A temp for the day ?
A shame but will need something amazing to entice me back in a hurry when there are sooooo many options in our wonderful city.24/04/2013 00:00:00Fantastic food and great serviceI loved this place and really enjoyed the food. Our waiter was intelligent and knowledgeable with great suggestions. Food was incredible and delicious. HUGE portions. I will definitely go back.23/04/2013 00:00:00Great food, get rid of florets saladWe enjoyed a pre theatre dinner. Absolutely loved the atmosphere. Great food. I did not like that the Calamari Salad did not contain FRESH SALAD, but salad straight from the florets packet. That is a shame!! The Cuban BBQ, was a melt in the mouth. Professional and efficient staff.20/04/2013 00:00:00Excellent Pre theatre mealWe had an hour to eat before the play started. We booked the special two course meal with mojito for £22. Service, meal & ambience were all excellent. We enjoyed delicious food and never once felt hurried or stressed. Would definitely recommend.20/04/2013 00:00:00Fun place to eat with an interestinFun place to eat with an interesting menu and quirky atmosphere20/04/2013 00:00:00Expectations metI took a young friend to lunch prior to a matinee at the Coliseum. The set menu - £18.50 for two courses + a mojito - was good value. I had the crab croquettes, which in themselves were not special but were given some spice by an excellent dipping sauce. We both had the bbq chicken, which was tender and tasty and came with a fresh salsa and then my friend had a scrumptious coffee and chocolate brownie, which she pronounced yummy. As with most mojitos, this too was more ice than anything else, but minty and lime-y ice.
Service was attentive, pleasant and not too formal. The room, with its round columns, shelves full of books and great black and white pictures is original and interesting.
I'll probably return.20/04/2013 00:00:00the restaurant is really excellent.the restaurant is really excellent. we had a nice table, the decoration of the restaurant was really great, nice and warm and welcoming.
the food was excellent, greta quality, good value for money. i loved the octupus salad and the cocktails
overall a great dinner night with fantastic service and excellent food19/04/2013 00:00:00Design venue & Food for SharingThe setting of the restaurant is lovely: elegant, fresh and stylish. Same can be said of the food: Intense flavors, exciting combinations. Food is served with the intention for sharing, which offers lots of flexibility and the opportunities to sample more dishes. Attentive service with good suggestions in what to pick from the menu. On the downside; we were sitting directly under the AC which was quite chilly. Also we thought the music was too loud which made conversation difficult. After we mentioned this, the music was turned down. However it took a while for the temperature to be adjusted, we had to ask several times. Bring a cardigan and you'll be fine!19/04/2013 00:00:00Asia de CubaReally good food, fantastic service. Would recommend.18/04/2013 00:00:00Another good mealReally enjoyed the food, the service was a little spotty but it was late for lunch and early for dinner. Would return.13/04/2013 00:00:00Exceptional foodAsia de Cuba far exceeded my expectations. From the moment we arrived the staff were attentive, knowledgeable about the food and happy to give recommendations. The food itself was exceptional - probably the best meal I've ever eaten. Every course was perfect and the portions were generous. I can't recommend it enough. I'll definitely be visiting again.13/04/2013 00:00:00Outstanding experience throughoutAi am head of a culinary arts college in Manchester and came to london for the weekend. We had a truly outstanding experience from the minute we walked into the restaurant. I touch difficult to find as the restaurant is not branded on the outside of the building. Yet once inside the reception, service and the food where all truly outstanding, highly recommend to any real foodies and restaurant critics. the service Was Articulate yet relaxing and casual but informative. Product knowledge and recommendations where very professionally sold and extremely well received by myself and my quest.
Will return, thank you.13/04/2013 00:00:00Excellent....once againSecond time I have visited this place and I absolutely love it!. Great food, fantastic service and awesome ambience. Will definetely be back soon!12/04/2013 00:00:00Love this placeBeen twice once with my partner , and again with friends , have the taster menu , its great value and you get all the best from the menu , i wish i ordered it again on the second visit .
Great place12/04/2013 00:00:00good with the dealgood as usual, bit pricy, even with the deal after you add extras but worth it for speacial occasions12/04/2013 00:00:00Great NightGreat night out. Amazing food and fantastic cocktails. Only downside was the massively overpriced water, which was in a plastic bottle - somewhat at odds with the high quality of the rest of the restaurant.10/04/2013 00:00:00Loved itWe stayed at the hotel and had a pre theatre meal and breakfast. Both were excellent in every way. We would certainly recommend it and hope that we will be able to go back and enjoy it again.09/04/2013 00:00:00Trendy and tasty!Restaurant was well signed as part of hotel and didnt have any signs to say the restaurant was there but once inside the restaurant was really vibrant and trendy.
We got taken to our seats straight away but service to take our order was a little slow
The waiters came over to explain the menu and was really valuable as def only needed one starter between the two of us as it was HUGE!
The food was amazing-esp their signature calamari salad. The snapper to share was really tasty
Bill was a little pricey but food was nice and would go back for sure, just perhaps not every week due to the higher cost!09/04/2013 00:00:00Well Worth a VisitHave been to this restaurant about 4 times now and have never been disappointed. A nice variety of options on the fixed price menu making it good value. Staff I have found to be friendly and efficient. Would certainly recommend.07/04/2013 00:00:00fabulous eve great food & serviceAn all round fabulous evening hospitable and professional from start to finish a night to remember ! fantastic bar a great place to meet and start of the night with extremely well balanced cocktails. The tasting menu went down a treat, fantastic value for money and I would definitely recommend paying the £10 supplement for the ceviche with plantain crisps and crispy prawn crackers it was simply divine!06/04/2013 00:00:00Pretty Impressive Set Lunch DealHad lunch with my sister at Asia de Cuba on Saturday. All-round, a pretty good experience.
The restaurant is lovely and despite having been there several years is still looking current. The deal itself was good - £18.50 for two courses with a mojito, or about £22.00-ish for 3 courses.
Food was delicious - examples being some crab croquettas to start, gorgeous (and filling Cuban) BBQ chicken with coconut rice and a sweetcorn relish and some amazing little cinnamon and sugar dusted doughnuts with a caramel sauce.
As with all deals like this, once you start adding a side and a couple of glasses of wine, the bill adds up, but for 3 courses we ended up paying about £75.00, not bad at all - recommended.06/04/2013 00:00:00Great Place! We've neen there for pre theatre lunch for saturday martinee. Busy area but quiet place, nice food for value, excellent service!06/04/2013 00:00:00Birthday LunchTook my wife for a surprse birthday lunch. Excellent food and service. Will go again.06/04/2013 00:00:00Always a winnerAsia de Cuba is always fantastic, if you love pan Asian go here! It is not cheap but well worth the overall experience. The setting is very quirky and cocktails also fab! One of the best restaurants in London! Recommendations are the beef salad, ahi tuna and Mexican doughnuts!!!06/04/2013 00:00:00Great ambience and nice meal!Went there for a friday night meal with a few friends. 4 out of 5 of us were vegetarian so we were pleased to note that there was a separate vegetarian menu. Our waiter was enthusiastic and took good care of us. The portion sizes are generous so after the appetizers, we were all wondering how we would be able to finish our mains! The food was really good, however the vegetarian starters are better than the mains!
They have a good cocktail list and a good selection of champagne. I would recommend ordering individual cocktails as the sharing ones tend to be too diluted with things apart from alcohol! The light bar next to the restaurant is a must go pre or post dinner!
Overall a really good experience.05/04/2013 00:00:00
