Tucked away in leafy Belsize Village, Artigiano has not only become a favourite among the affluent locals, but it's high on the list of discreet party venues for celebrities, many of whom regularly dine there. Modern Italian cuisine, welcoming service and a thoroughly contemporary and uncluttered design all contribute to the ongoing success and appeal of Artigiano. A glass roof at the rear allows light to pour in and the glass frontage folds away to open the restaurant up, creating perfect al fresco moments at the first sight of sunshine.

Artigiano Ratings and Reviews
Really excellent ambience significantly ...
Really excellent ambience significantly complemented by the live music. Food superb too. Driven through this area many times but the restaurant is on a side street so hadn't spotted it. Doesn't seem to have affected its popularity at all.
Good neighbourhood restaurant
Good and reliable Italian cooking and wines at reasonable prices. Pleasant surroundings in a peaceful cul-de sac. Friendly and relaxed service. Occassional live music does not interfere with normal conversation.

Great food, nice jazz band (however would be better without the singer). Only low: disappointing panna cotta. Will come back.
Good food, good service and nice atmosphere . I think some vegetables should be included with main meal. The tiramasu was disappointing..
Very good food and wine list, with lovely service, i.e. Not too much and not too little. Great jazz pianist and bassist, too, although paired with a rather poor female singer.
Sunday evening dinner for two
booked for two on a Sunday evening . The restaurant wasn't busy and the service was calm precise and professional. The food was tasty and I had the Tuna steak which I really enjoyed but ,for me maybe to many onions. Would I eat it again without doubt yes!!
Birthday dinner for 5
Restaurant was not it's usual self, no atmosphere think the manager was away, had ask for them to put some music on and despite asking for a sparkler or something to celebrate my husband's birthday nothing happened. Food good but disappointing evening
Bright and light
Good food, served well by friendly waiter in a very pleasant airy room.
Return visit to Artigiano's
Cannot resist returning to this lovely restaurant each time we visit London. We especially enjoy Friday evening Jazz nights there. The food is always reliably good as is the ambience!
Excellent neighbourhood restaurant
Our latest visit confirms that their usual very high standards have been maintained. Great food and excellent service.
Another delightful meal at Artigiano
We are lucky to have a neighbourhood restaurant of this quality! The food is excellent, service is friendly and attentive, and there is always a relaxed, cozy atmosphere. We love meeting friends there for dinner.
Since eating there before, I thought Artigiano was not as good and the restaurant was not particularly busy for a Saturday night.

Artigiano looked splendid in the sunshine with its white table cloths gleaming- a lovely ambience. Service was good and the squid/whitebait starter excellent. We happily celebrated our anniversary with a decent bottle of Chianti Riserva and enjoyed tuna and vongole.

Nice ambience and good Friday night jazz music.
Excellent food, lovely ambience (the live jazz is wonderful), easy parking - what more could you ask for!

Consistently good food
Food here is consistently good, the service is not the most friendly *shrugs* Service is not super prompt but attentive enough, and let's be honest: a smile on your dial isn't compulsive. The bean soup is lovely, and this is coming from someone who generally avoids beans. For each course, there are a few vegetarian options so the vegetarian in our group was satisfied. The matriciana spaghetti had the right level of heat and very moreish - like another reviewer mentioned, parmesan wasn't offered with the pasta. (I still mourn the demise of Marine Ices restaurant - before they changed the menu!). Zucchini fries are lovely and crisp, the rest of the meal was good - which is how I remember it each time we come here. The food is consistently good, if not particularly memorable. Let's be honest here, if you eat out a lot, what meals really are that memorable anyway? Vanilla pannacotta was silky smooth, and the barest hint of crunch from the generous vanilla seeds. The background level of noise is quite high, so I'd probably avoid bringing elderly guests here on a Friday/Saturday night because they find it hard to hear the conversation if the background noise is too loud.
A great local restaurant
This had been booked by a friend so I didn't know what to expect. On a Friday evening there was live jazz music which was a great touch and made for a lively atmosphere. We were very pleased with our meals. I started with the mushroom and goats cheese with a red onion compote which was delicious and I would happily go for the same on another visit. My husband went for the fish tartare which he said was lovely and fresh. He went for the veal escalope for main course and me, the sea bass. Both of us were very happy with our meals, tasty and well cooked. Although not cheap, I think it was reasonable value and we had a great evening there. Will certainly return.
Not just a neighbourhood place
We have been a couple of times on a Friday night, when they have had a very nice jazz singer/trio (not too loud or overbearing). The menu is fairly standard Italian but execution is very good and service is prompt and attentive. Price is fair for good quality and good portions. Recommended.
It had been some time since I'd visited the restaurant but I shall certainly make sure to go again before too long. My guest, an elderly Italian friend, enjoyed her veal dish as much as I enjoyed my halibut in Amalfi lemon sauce. I had been tempted by several dishes in the starter menu but was relieved that I hadn't indulged as portions were so generous and we were only just able to manage some sorbet, which was beautifully presented in a biscuit "bowl". The restaurant filled up as we were eating but service was quite prompt and I thought the meal rather good value for the quality.

Very good food - interesting menu. Wine list well priced.
The service was dreadful, despite there being a full complement of staff in the restaurant, and we can only assume that there was only 1 chef in the kitchen. After sitting down we waited for at 20 minutes before a waiter came to take our order for drinks, and this was by calling someone over, despite the restaurant being only two thirds full. We ordered an antIpasta whilst we were looking at the menu. I derisory plate of sliced bagette with 5 little bruschetta pieces arrived and a 20 minutes later when I asked if this was the antipasta to be told that no this is bread. A further 15 minutes went by and a board arrived with anitpasta. We were in the restaurant for an 1 1/2 before receiving our main course. My Husbands scallops were overcooked and the sauce congealed. The other food was passable.
Very disappointed. Had a fish main course and when it arrived it was completely raw - even the top of huge fish was translucent. Not what you expect from a restaurant like this. Staff weren't apologetic and it took another 15-20 mins to receive a cooked meal. Meanwhile my partner's meal got cold.
An above average Italian restaurant
An upmarket restaurant. Couldn't fault the venue and the food was adequately good. Service prompt but slightly distant. Overall worth it with the 20% OpenTable discount.
Nice if your local, but not worth a long trip
I went to this restaurant on Valentines Day. The restaurant itself was nice but did not stand out in any particular way. The staff were friendly and accomodating. The food itself was nice, but if it were not for the special Valentine's Day offer, I probably would not have eaten there.
another great meal!!
Never disappointed when we visit Artigiano. Food is always of the highest quality and staff are friendly and helpful. I had the steak cooked rare and it was tender and melted in the mouth - delicious. Highly recommended to all.

Good value fixed price menu. Pleasant service and good choice of tasty food.
Poor for vegetarians
rang beforehand to check re veggie menu but very disappointed on the day - also chestnut in ravioli was very odd tasting. I'm sure its good for meat lovers but dont go there if you cant have meat or fish.

This could have been a terrible experience. We were still waiting for our main courses one and a half hours after ordering. However, the food was good and amazingly the restaurant refused any payment for food and drinks. I will certainly go back in appreciation of their very generous gesture.
An excellent evening!
Thank you very much to all the staff at Artigiano for a wonderful New Year's Eve. The food was delicious and promptly served. The wine list was extensive and the wine waiter was pleasant and knowledgeable. The evening was further enhanced by sparkling table decorations and a first rate pianist. My wife and I will most certainly be back!
Very warm welcome and good selection of mains.
A Great dining experience - would definitely go back.
Always a good meal. My partners Salmon with poached egg was delicious as was my Ribeye with Gorgonzola. We asked for some breadsticks which didn't arrive until the meal did. The wine list is too expensive but this is a good restaurant
Quality and value for money
Dined last weekend for mum's birthday - rare blend of fantastic quality and value for money...the best Italian I've visited and will be sure to return!
A birthday meal for my husband
It has been a long time since I felt that a restaurant felt that we weren't worthy of eating in their establishment. We were celebrating my husbands birthday but felt that the staff & management were waiting for us to leave despite the restaurant being half full. The band were the most welcoming of the restaurant staff!!! The food was ok but I would not return due to the attitude of the staff, staring at us every time they passed.
Slow start, but then great
Service was a little confused to begin with - we sat in the middle section and were forgotten about and a group of 3 kids were steadfastly refusing to be quiet which was irritating. After that though the service improved and the food was excellent, and the Friday jazz was brilliant.
It was simple and nice. However, my calf's liver was a little undercooked, but the wine was very good to make up that. Staff were very helpful and friendly. A little bit on the pricey side.

Lovely food, great atmosphere, service good, and the set menu incredibly good value.
Great Music and Food
We had a wonderful meal on Friday with the live jazz and enjoyed the complimentary prosecco. We will return!
Good Night at Artigiano
Very good meal in the heart of Belsize Park. Great ambience and the food was excellent - he four of us thoroughly enjoyed our evening.
