There was something for everyone on the menu. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. There is a room with a big table for a group booking on the lower floor. The ambience is relaxed and welcoming. The food was delicious particularly the haggis starter. My wife's fish was not as hot as she'd have liked but it seemed trivial to mention it when th taste was excellent. I like a bit more food on my plate normally but I'm not going to quibble over that as the service, taste, ambience and overall experience was very good. The stone bass was delicious with an exceptionally tasty sauce, every mouthful I savoured. My daughter had the duck breast and it was also exceptional. Although not an extensive menu every dish was clearly a well thought out and original. Desserts were similarly delicious. The service was also just perfect. I decided to take my dad and step mum while they were up visiting and they amazed at the place. Particular favourite of mine for te presentation and the value you pay which is excellent compared to other resturants. The service is great as very laid back and not too in your face with some places I have been. The girl that waited on us had good conversation and put her input on to suggestions and was happy to change a cheese for my dad who didn't want a goats cheese. I think if the resturant was on Princess Steet or someone more central it would be swamped as so good for food. Ben, the Manager, got in touch and offered The Halo Room which is a beautiful little room that seats up to 4 people in an alcove so it's private without losing the atmosphere of the restaurant. Food was delicious and not as small a portion as some reviews had made out. We ate haggis, steak and fish pie. Heaven! Wine list a little pricey but was still worth it. Our Waiter Sam was very professional, friendly and attentive and we had an amazing evening.
