The service was outstanding, all staff attentive & very friendly. I was concerned that 7 courses would be too many however, they were well spaced so that we didn't rush through our meal & although ate everything, including the additional cheese course, were left satisfied & not overly full.
The comprehensive wine list was well explained by the sommelier and all very enjoyable.

With Alyn Williams away from his post his Sous Chef came out to discuss our 'experience' and engaged in a most enjoyable discussion about the merits of a new main on the lunch menu.

After a liitle look around some shops, we 'accidently' arrived in mayfair and walked into the entrance of The Westbury hotel, and from then on felt like royalty.
We had the meat choice 7-course taster menu (neither of us are veggies), and it was delicious. the menu is on their website, but included quails egg and breast, scallops, crab and ink, deserts, the optional cheeseboard, and for meat lovers, the steak course was to die for. Each componant of each plate brought over was so delicate and perfectly made. Apart from ordering the cheapest bottle of wine (£24...though it was still nice) everything was amazing. I liked the way the menu simply lists the ingredients for the dish - its up to you to ask how they are prepared. But this is simple because the service is so friendly responsive and attentive without being overly unctuous or irritating.
There are really good vegetarian options and the sea bass with a sea-urchin veloute was a mix of delicate and complementary flavours.

The service was outstanding. What got out attention was the friendliness from the entire staff. The warm and calm environment made us feel welcome and appreciated. We felt that the staff put us in the centre of their attention without making it seem stiff. This was a major plus from us.
The entire tasting meny was perfectly put together. The food was very trendy and exciting and we were surprised by every course. Mr. Williams has definitely found his own style. Our favorites were the 50 day aged pork and the cheese cake. Huge drinks menu but the waiter recommendations did not disappoint. Due to a couple of allergies amongst the group we were able to select certain other courses from the veg tasting menu.
Each course came at the appropriate time (not rushed but likewise never waited too long after previous course was taken away). Each course was superb - very flavoursome, occasionally on the small side but good selection of breads filled the gaps.

The califlower and vegetable starter was a delight. Our two main courses, crispy skin pork and venison, were excellent. The ingredients were very fresh and the meat was cooked to perfection. The desserts menu wasn't very descriptive, but the food itself was tasty and beautifully presented. The serving staff was very efficient, friendly and helpful. We went planning to just have the 3 course £25 lunch but the tasting menu at £60 looked so good we opted for that instead.
All four of us are agreed that every one of the 7 or 8 courses was just amazing - Each dish was both balanced and delicious, the whole meal was perfectly paced ( at about three and a half hours ) and perfect portion sizes meant we left feeling pleasantly full rather than bloated.
We're lucky enough to eat at a lot of top restaurants but this has to rate as one of our best ever meals.
