AlloroOnce again, wonderful dinnerIt was such a pleasant evening at Alloro. Three of us girls started with a bottle of champagne at the bar, which provided a very friendly atmosphere and fantastic olives! Then moved on to dinner. As always, they use superb ingredients and cooked at a best timing. We love Alloro for its great quality, friendly atmosphere and not pretentious in the middle of Mayfair. We will be looking forward to coming back soon. Service is extremely attentive and I'm usually in&out within 1hr. Given all the above and the perfect location it is a great place for business meals. I always book in the bar area which makes it less formal.05/04/2013 00:00:00Birthday lunchI booked a late lunch table at Alloro and the staff were extremely helpful in arranging a special bouquet to be delivered for my table. After bellinis and anti pasti at the bar, we were shown to our window table and treated magnificently by friendly, competent, assured staff. The set two course lunch was innovative and well cooked - rich lobster linguini starter and a meltingly delicious belly pork on spinach were sensational. Great wine list (we opted for 2 glasses of Gavi and a bottle of luscious Barbaresco helped create a wonderful celebratory atmosphere in the lively lunchtime dining room. It is my most favourite restaurant in London for Italian food and the atmosphere they create - being Italian the Restauranteur and staff are quite naturally authentic and delightful.

They did not disappoint. Following a complimentary starter, we both ordered pasta entrees and fish as the main - seabass was excellent, as was the *large* serving of grilled tuna. We had always been before in the evening. 4 of us (family not business) enjoyed a relaxed untroublesomely excellent experience for food, service and ambience. The price, which others have commented on, in my view is reasonable and value for money.

She is a chef and knows her food. The lamb in an olive crust was among the best she has had. Just a shame the starter pasta had been so generous as she couldn't finish it. I was happy to oblige. We were there with a lively group of 4 but felt right at home.
Pasta (Ravolli) and Venison were exceptional.
